About the Role:

The childcare Classroom Assistant Supply Staff will be in the classroom with the children assisting the Early Childhood Educators with programming, creating a safe environment, caring for the children, maintaining classroom cleanliness, conducting daily duties such as serving meals, changing diapers, writing daily reports, recording attendance, engaging in play, assisting to put children to sleep, and communicating with peers and parents.

What You Bring:

A minimum of two years experience in childcare or work-related field

Valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen

Valid Standard First Aid/CPR Level C (infant/child)

Some knowledge of the CCEYA and licensing act

Familiar with How Does Learning Happen?

Experience working with children ages 0 months - 5 years

Up to date immunizations (Tetanus and MMR)

Workers Health and Safety Awareness Certificate

Food Handlers Certificate preferred

POSITION FUNCTION:

  • The Classroom Assistant provides administrative and classroom support to staff and clients of Language Programs (LINC)


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides administrative and classroom support to staff and clients of Language Programs.
  • Provides administrative support by helping prepare classroom materials, such as printing and cutting activity cards, filing as well as organizing classroom materials
  • Assists in providing support to students with activities in small groups or one-to-one, correcting classroom assignments, guiding activities in class, offering encouragement to students for both in person and online classes.
  • Provides learning support for clients with digital literacy and access challenges.
  • Attends and takes an active role in department meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Completion; some TESL training, or a combination of training and experience in an area related to the program, project, or service.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To meet all Snow School objectives
  • Monitor all forecasting tools and make adjustments as required.
  • Perform all future forecasting – always stay out front of where the school is
  • Assist in training of our supervisor team on staffing systems
  • To lead the Management forecast meetings and to be adaptable to change when needed
  • Work with the snow school program managers to ensure staffing level are aligned for business needs
  • Work closely with sales teams to match the best Instructor to the guests needs
  • Build a strong cohesive scheduling team
  • Monitor and document staff performance; provide mentorship, coaching, feedback, or discipline as necessary
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, payroll and ongoing staff development
  • Ensure scheduling facilities are equipped
  • Review and develop plan to drive employee engagement.
  • Operate under the “One School’ mantra of Whistler Blackcomb
