Job DescriptionThe incumbent will register patients using Meditech software. Validate healthcare coverage. Acquire required information and payment method for uninsured patients and accurately enters all required data. Answer telephones. Deal with inquiries from the public, family and hospital staff. Complete various clerical tasks/audits as required. Order and organize supplies. Admit patients following established protocols and collaboration with nursing unit staff regarding bed allocation. Work with accommodation staff to reassign beds as necessitated through preferred accommodations. Acquire appropriate insurance information and required signatures from patient or family members. Manage bill payment amounts and receipts for patients. Admitting works directly with local funeral homes to arrange the safe pick up of deceased patients and ensures that all necessary documentation is completed prior to release. Other related duties as required.
