Salary:
$47.83 - $56.75/hour, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits on regular earnings, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay day. Employees are also eligible to contribute to the College Pension Plan, with matching contributions from the employer.
Description:
Northern Lights College's Practical Nursing Program is seeking a temporary, full-time instructor to deliver APN 136: Consolidated Practice Experience A . This clinical experience provides learners with the opportunity to integrate theory from the Access level into practice. Learners will practice with ageing clients and/or those with chronic illness in residential care settings. Medication administration, nursing care, organization, comprehensive health assessment, wound care and introduction to leadership are emphasized in this course.

As a member of the Health Sciences Department, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive instructional team. You are expected to pursue excellence in teaching by incorporating diverse instructional strategies and fostering a learning environment rooted in inquiry, reflection, and evidence-informed practice.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Completion of an accredited Diploma in Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or another relevant undergraduate degree or professional qualification may be considered.
- Current practicing license as an LPN, RPN, RN or NP with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives with no limits or conditions or another relevant professional license.
- Minimum two years (full-time equivalent) of recent Canadian nursing experience.
- Ability to function effectively as a team member.
- Committed to student motivation and achievement.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Preferred:
- Completed course work in Indigenous cultural safety and humility.
- Teaching experience as a nurse or health care professional.
- A credential in adult education, such as the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program.
