Position Summary
As a Clinical Education Specialist at STERIS, you are responsible for professional education of both internal and external STERIS Customers. What you will do as a Clinical Education Specialist
* Provide clinical support for key focus products which may include in servicing, customer consultations to develop better Customer processes and develop Customer solutions with STERIS products.
* Identify topic(s) for group study or presentation to organizations such as CAMDR, ORNAC, CSGNA, IPAC, MDRAO, CSA.
* Identify and create new topics based on Customer needs, review and update existing presentations based on industry standards to ensure communications are up to date.
* Plan, generate and provide formal educational seminars, and workshops to stimulate product interest and increase sales.
* Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, industry leaders, professional organizations and business associates through active membership in organizations (i.e., CAMDR, ORNAC, CSGNA, IPAC, MDRAO, CSA etc.) and participation in national/local professional meetings, workshops and seminars.
* Document issues and communicate to Sales, Services, Legal, Marketing, and other corporate functions.
* Provide recommendations to field sales team on Customer needs/requirements.
* Provide clinical expertise with troubleshooting (equipment and machine) and resolve Customer issues.
* Provide ongoing clinical guidance and training to field sales team.
* Support other departments (i.e., Marketing, R&D) through providing clinical expertise in the development and market launch of new products or services as well as concerns with existing products and programs.
* Audit Customer work processes (Device Processing, OR, GI,) and use of equipment and related accessories to ensure compliance with operating/processing instructions. Based on audit, proactively identify opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations.
* Document audit with recommended actions copying customer and sales team.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
* Required:Degree/certification in Medical Device Reprocessing or 2 year Undergraduate degree
* Bilingual in French and English
* 5 years of hospital experience in the Medical Device Reprocessing Department
* Ability to travel overnight at least 50%
* Must be able to be compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements
* Preferred:Degree from an accredited Nursing Program, Licensed Registered Nurse or MDRT/SPD equivalent
* Clinical expertise in Medical Device Reprocessing, Infection Control, or Endoscopy Department
* Experience providing clinical support for a healthcare industry manufacturer
* Understanding of surgical instrumentation and principles of sterilization
* Other:Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

As an Integration Specialist , you will drive implementation, integration and acceleration of Align’s digital platform in targeted Orthodontic accounts via in-office engagements. You will apply clinical expertise and comprehensive knowledge of orthodontic practice workflows to accelerate practice growth and improve efficiencies.  Primary areas of focus will be:

· Integration and maximization of the iTero suite of systems and applications

· Implementation of clinical and treatment planning workflows for Align products and services

· Acceleration of the Align Doctor Subscription Program within select offices

You will build and leverage influential relationships with doctors and staff, providing customized practice insights and enablement strategies.  You will perform thorough customer “current state” assessments and create prioritized account-level goals and defined work paths to optimize integration and acceleration of Align’s digital orthodontic solutions.

Desired skills sets include, but are not limited to, strong needs-based discovery, clinical and business knowledge of orthodontic practices, proficiency in establishing training plans, effective communication skills to inspire and motivate account personnel and high accountability to mutually-agreed to goals and expectations.  In this role, you will augment and support the efforts of Align Orthodontic Territory Managers to enable and improve the digital adoption experience for key partnership accounts.  


Role summary
  • Guide Ortho customers through optimization of iTero workflow and increase utilization of patient education and conversion applications
  • Develop personalized plans for each customer based on their practice goals, identifying key performance indicators (KPIs), and tracking progress towards achieving desired outcomes.
  • Assist in integrating new product launches into office workflow.
  • Provide technical assistance on software usage, troubleshooting issues and guiding customers through any complexities they may encounter.
  • Foster positive relationships with entire practice teams within targeted practices. Build relationships with partners, utilizing a consultative and collaborative approach with the common goal inspiring our customers to modernize and grow their business.
  • Deliver Clinical Training and presentations to a variety of customer types as well as internal audiences, to maximize implementation, utilization and integration of products, assisting them in implementing digital technology and refining office processes.
  • Leverage all resources and successfully manage the integration of the iTero scanner and Invisalign processes and procedures with both Doctors and Staff of targeted accounts.
  • Strategically work with sales and commercial support functions to prioritize opportunities.
  • Work as a clinical mentor to internal partners and external partners regarding best demonstrated practices.
  • Stay active and engaged with orthodontic industry and related organizations to stay abreast of trends and changes in ortho practice that impact our business or customers.
  • Utilize data/analytics to help customer’s drive decision making
  • Orchestrate additional internal company resources to optimize the customer experience and provide ongoing promotion of Align /iTero solutions.



What we're looking for


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Clinical degree in dentistry (RDA, RDH, EF, CDA, etc.) and/or ortho office management experience preferred
  • 4+ years of directly related and relevant work experience in an orthodontic practice or corporate entity
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adept at building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external customers.  Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Organization skills, including time management, multi-tasking and attention to detail.
  • Superior English communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. French/English bilingualism is required for roles supporting customers in the province of Quebec.
  • High customer-service standard
  • Troubleshooting ability, including research and reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and travel to the US. 

Work Schedule / Hours:

  •  Standard 5 day and 40-hour work week

Placement within these ranges depends on the candidate’s skills, experience level, and overall compensation and equity among team members. Specific Expectations:

Operational Leadership:

  • Implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance quality outcomes and operational effectiveness that are embraced by the front line.
  • Identify process breakdown trends causing potential patient events (e.g., equipment, wrong side, case preparedness, scheduling lack of information) and mitigate risk with process improvement.
  • Collaborate with Regional Directors on facility operations, supply chain, scheduling, optimizing labour management efficiency and patient throughput and OR optimization.
  • Collaborate with Regional Directors and centre clinical leadership supply and preference card use performance and equipment/implant failures to maximize operational efficiencies and quality care.
  • Instill a “go see for yourself” clinical management culture to verify and improve processes.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as case volume, turnover time, RL6, safety reporting/improvements and patient satisfaction.
  • Mentor clinical leadership team in conjunction with Regional Directors on proactive management and continuous improvement.

Financial & Business Management:

  • Assist in the development and achievement of budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director, CFO/finance team to optimize billing
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director to ensure cost efficiencies while meeting quality standards.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure compliance with provincial and accreditation standards.

  • 10+ years of ASC clinical leadership
  • Registered Nurse and business training/education, preferred

  • Proven leadership in leading teams, finance, and collaboration with Regional operations and business development initiatives.
