Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Enterprise Architect - Foundation Platform for our core engineering team. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining the foundational libraries, frameworks, and architectural components that underpin our product suite. Their work spans backend systems, middleware, web services, and user experience layers, enabling data-driven decision intelligence and robust product support.
This is a hands-on enterprise architecture leader role with deep experience pushing the boundaries of technology to design industry leading solutions. You will shape the architectural direction for the firm’s shared engineering assets by researching and applying advanced technologies and design patterns in support of new data-driven products.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic enterprise architecture designs, frameworks and code for core, reusable components that support multiple company products.
- Partner closely with Engineering leaders across distributed computing, data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence domains to ensure scalable and cohesive solutions.
- Ensure foundational systems embody principles of security , scalability , resilience , observability , and sustainability.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to enhance development, testing, deployment, and monitoring practices.
- Document Enterprise Architecture best practices.
- Mentor software engineers and architects and review their solution designs to ensure alignment with other system components and our overall architectural direction.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to translate business objectives into clear, actionable requirements for platform capabilities and features.
- Design and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable architectural patterns that enable product teams to accelerate development
- Strongly support engineering process improvements in Agile development, CI/CD, DevSecOps, Test automation, and architectural governance.
Desired Skills & Expertise
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience designing cloud-native architectures with AWS.
- 15+ years of experience in full-stack software development, including hands-on expertise across the SDLC: ideation, design, development, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and support.
- Deep experience with numerous components of our technology stack:
- Infrastructure & Platforms: Linux & Windows Server, AWS, Databricks, Spark
- Databases: SQL Server, Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis
- Languages & Frameworks: Python, Java, JavaScript, Angular, Tableau
- Tooling & DevOps: Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes
- Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to balance technical vision with practical execution.

**Your role and responsibilities**
* Design, development and deployment of hybrid, multi cloud and cloud native architectures and solutions for payments transformation initiatives that support the business requirements of the client. Solution responsibility can include but not limited to, infrastructure strategy and design, systems strategy and design, communications strategy and design, and data center strategy and design.
* Lead, create Application Architecture, High-Level and Low-Level design deliverables with client architects.
* Bring expertise in hybrid cloud platform security governance and compliance.
* Best practices in this role use reference architectures and service product assets to develop conceptual and detailed designs.
* Architects are responsible for performance, availability and scalability of the solution and the impact on the client's infrastructure.
* Support sales opportunities
* Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* 6+ years of experience in design and delivery of complex and large-scale IT projects
* Expertise in the Payments Industry and the design, delivery of payments systems (ACH, Wires, Real Time, Interac, Cheques, Card Payments etc.). Candidates with strong experience in Banking and Financial services will also be considered.
* 3+ years of experience as an application architect or technical lead providing hands on technical leadership for the end to end design, delivery and management of hybrid cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, IBM, GCP)
* Cloud solution architect certification in one of major cloud providers (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Experience in design and delivery of cloud native solutions with Microservices, containers & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
* Proven experience in design and delivery of cloud native solutions with with Micro services, containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
* *Experience in REST API Interface design, API Gateways, Swagger/OpenAPI standard, OAuth
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
* Understanding of Red Hat ecosystem (OpenShift, Ansible, RH Fuse, RH SSO, etc.)
* Familiar with infrastructure as code and DevOps automations
* Familiar with IT Operations and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practice
