Job Summary
Full-time: 37.5 Hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location: Ottawa Office (Up to 3 days per week), 70 Laurier Ave West, Suite 310, Ottawa, ON K1P 5V5 and Ottawa-based Home Office, or, remote if located outside of the National Capital Region.

The heart and soul of Larus is our team of talented engineers and we are in search of self-directed Cloud Engineers to join our team. Our Software Engineering team is developing end-to-end real-time solutions for the enterprise market. We perform leading-edge research in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Analytics. This is an opportunity to work on various cloud engineering projects, and learn and apply new skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and maintain networking, compute and storage resources, and infrastructure in Microsoft Azure;
- Build or maintain CICD pipelines in Google Cloud or Azure DevOps or Gitlab or GitHub Actions;
- Build or maintain Kubernetes clusters on Google Kubernetes Engine;
- Implement monitoring solutions for infrastructure and applications i.e. Prometheus and Grafana, Open telemetry, Google cloud monitoring, Azure monitors ;
- Engage in daily standup and team collaboration, involved in cross team project planning and implementation;
- Proactively identify potential security weaknesses and work towards remediating vulnerabilities;
- Collaborate with internal teams to research and assess new products and their compatibility with our infrastructure;
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and optimize development workflows;
- Collaborate with teams using source code versioning tools like git on Azure repos or GitHub;
- Understand and implement SDLC processes to facilitate efficient software development and deployment; and,
- Other duties as assigned.

Expected qualifications include:
- University graduate degree in STEM (e.g. Computer/Software/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, etc.);
- 2 to 3 years experience deploying and maintaining Microsoft Azure
- Google cloud certifications;
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including security automation and vulnerability scanning, to enhance overall system security;
- Experience in Implementation of complete software development lifecycle and DevOps;
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools like terraform;
- Experience in docker, podman and orchestration tool like Kubernetes preferably GKE or AKS;
- Experience in Python and Bash Scripting for automation;
- Experience and understanding of CICD especially Azure DevOps or Github Actions or Gitlab;
- Some knowledge in Machine learning, MLOps, Data Science is considered a plus;
- Experience in Microsoft Azure and certifications are considered assets;
- Willingness to work across different Cloud platforms with different teams;

**The Team:** The mission of the DSE Messaging team is to provide a reliable, scalable, and real-time distributed messaging backbone that enables seamless data streaming and event-driven communication across services, systems, and applications within the Market Intelligence division. We are currently utilizing distributed messaging platforms and associated technologies to link Business Units across MI. Additionally, the team manages a substantial infrastructure set up on cloud services or on-premise servers with multiple data centers.
**Responsibilities and Impact:**
As the Lead Engineer, you will ensure that the messaging platform operates successfully, safely, and efficiently. You will work to increase productivity, decrease downtime, and support the mission of the Market Intelligence division. Providing client teams with a dependable application infrastructure and helping them succeed with their unique business use cases are critical functions of this role. You will also address technical issues, maintain infrastructure, provide on-call support, and implement enhancements as needed by business clients.
You will be positioned as a lead-level contributor or assigned to collaborate with user groups or client teams in the following areas:
**Messaging Platform Engineering:**
+ Install, configure, and maintain distributed messaging clusters and associated infrastructure across multiple regions and accounts.

**What We're Looking For:**

This role is based in our Markham, Ontario offices on sunny, green Allstate Parkway. We are conveniently located near Highway 404, with a direct connection to the Don Valley Parkway (DVP). The communities of Richmond Hill, Aurora, Newmarket, Scarborough, and north Toronto are located very close to our offices. We are focused on team participation and commit to working a Full-Time schedule in our Markham office.

Summary
The Azure Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the architecture, provisioning, design, and implementation of Azure hybrid cloud and cloud-native solutions utilizing Azures commercial infrastructure, platform, and software as a service (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) offering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up hybrid connectivity for on-site and Azure environments
- Manage cloud environments in compliance with the organizations security policies
- Develop solutions integrating Microsoft Azure clouds with services hosted on-premises
- Define and record the best methods and tactics for deploying applications and maintaining infrastructure
- Consult, design, and document MDM environments
- Assist in designing and putting place Azure data protection features, define and implement Azure cloud-based solution architectures
- Assist in implementing, configuring, and supporting Office 365 and M365 security solutions
- Azure AD Developer/support experience for the development and configuration of Azure AD along with integration with applications.

Education and/or Experience

Technical and/or Domain Knowledge

- Migration and modernization of workloads from on-premises data centers to Azure
- Experience with the Azure CLI, PowerShell/Azure PowerShell, and the Azure Portal
- Strong Skills with Azure, AWS, VMware, MS Servers, and networking required
- Knowledge of Office 365, monitoring systems, and databases
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture with hands-on experience in deploying, configuring, and managing Kubernetes clusters in Microsoft Azure.

Insight Global is seeking a qualified AWS Cloud Engineer with strong DevOps proficiency to support an enterprise cloud data initiative with a Canadian banking client. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS CI/CD pipeline setup using CloudFormation, CDK and/or terraform, proficiency with AWS Service setup using CDK templates, data pipeline orchestration, cloud infrastructure, and secure AWS deployments tailored to large-scale operations.
Key responsibilities in this role include building and maintaining cloud-native data pipelines using AWS services (Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, EMR) and using CDK templates. It will be imperative that this qualified candidate will be able to review and update CDK templates & CI/CD pipeline as required and manage and automate deployments of scalable cloud data environments within enterprise security frameworks.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
7+ years of cloud engineering experience with at least the recent 5 years on AWS.
Strong knowledge of AWS services related to data: S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, IAM, CloudFormation.
3-5 years of Hands-on experience in setting up AWS resources using CDK templates and CI/CD pipeline from scratch is a must.
Experience working in financial institutions or highly regulated industries.
Proficient with scripting languages (Python, Bash) and CI/CD tools (CodePipeline, GitHub Actions).
Understanding of network, security, and data governance within large enterprises. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty.
Experience with container orchestration (ECS, Fargate) and data lake security (Lake Formation).
Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security auditing tools in AWS environments. null
