Job Description
We are looking for a solution architect (SA) who will report to the manager of solution architecture. The SA will primarily define the solution architecture for specific projects but will also work with the business leaders to build a roadmap and alignment of solutions. As part of his/her role, the SA will review and understand business requirements for a project in order to design a technology solution that will meet those requirements while respecting the guiding principles of the Enterprise Architecture within the actual BRP context.
YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Provide an architectural conception of the solution regarding business, application, information and technology domains via the solution architecture design document.
- Develop and implement infrastructure solutions to meet client needs. This involves assessing client requirements, selecting appropriate infrastructures and network services and designing scalable and secure architecture.
- Provide expertise in migrating existing applications and infrastructure to the cloud. This includes performing cloud readiness assessments, planning migration strategies, and ensuring a seamless transition with minimal downtime.
- Ensure infrastructure solutions adhere to industry standards and compliance requirements. This involves implementing security protocols, managing data encryption, and configuring cloud security services.
- Partner with the organization to understand organizational and departmental strategy and agree on information systems solutions to meet the needs.
- Estimate cost, and prepare business cases for IT solutions, considering infrastructure, licences, development and support.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related study, or equivalent project-related experience.
- Minimum of ten years of experience in IT, with at least five years in information system design.
- In-depth experience designing and implementing information solutions, with specialization in IT infrastructure (Server architecture (Windows and Linux), VDI, Virtualization, Networking projects).
- Strong Knowledge of enterprise networking, cyber security, identity management systems, Backup and Recovery, Monitoring tools, IaC.
- In-depth experience with Microsoft technologies (Azure, Sharepoint, OneDrive, M365 etc.)
- Knowledge of public Cloud technologies (IaaS, CaaS, SaaS, PaaS) running on Azure, GCP and AWS.
- Knowledge of Agile methodology.
- Experience in a factory IT environment.
- Strategic business acumen and understanding of organization strategy and ability to design information systems to deliver that strategy.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to lay audiences. Some experience of working with board-level stakeholders.
- Team player with experience leading and collaborating cross-team to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills - demonstrating outside-the-box problem-solving skills and ability to develop solution architecture designs.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies such as TOGAF with Archimate or the equivalent.
- Bilingualism (French & English) - knowledge of English is required because you will be representing BRP in negotiations with vendors in the US and exchanging with stakeholders around the world.

Opportunity
The role of Senior Manager, Cloud & Infrastructure Architecture involves leading a team of experienced architects and people leaders. This position focuses on guiding the design and implementation of technical strategies to ensure the client's organization benefits from scalable, secure, and compliant Hybrid Cloud infrastructure. Collaboration with Enterprise Architecture, DevOps Platform Engineering, Operations, Information Security, and Development units is key to execute on large-scale projects, create frameworks, solutions designs, and set standards and processes.
Location: Based in Toronto, with a hybrid work model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Cloud and Infrastructure Architects to ensure successful project and initiative execution.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture to establish and govern Cloud & Infrastructure architecture standards, frameworks, and guidelines.
- Provide project sponsors with input on project plans, financial estimates, resourcing estimates, and business cases.
- Drive the execution of the Cloud Transformation program, including participation and leadership in the Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE).
- Establish and lead a Cloud Architecture CoE as part of the Agile Transformation program.
- Define, design, and oversee the implementation of infrastructure solutions, focusing on high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate with Information Security teams to implement robust security measures, adhering to industry best practices.
- Maintain detailed documentation of architecture, configurations, and processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and certifications such as PCI DSS.
- Provide support for escalated, complex incidents and problems impacting the organization and its merchants’ critical workflows.
What You Bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in software development, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Over 7 years of managerial experience leading cloud and/or infrastructure architecture teams.
- In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
- Demonstrated experience in setting standards and operating strategies with a depth of expertise.
- Working knowledge of cloud-native technologies and paradigms, including containers, microservices, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, GitOps.
- Experience in designing and implementing VMWare and Nutanix HCI-based solutions.
- Design and implementation experience with Software-defined Networks, including solutions based on Cisco ACI, F5, and Palo Alto.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional Agile environment.
- Proficiency in payment systems and the merchant acquiring business is considered an asset.

Reporting to the IT Manager, the Cloud Solutions Administrator will play a critical role in our cloud strategy and will be responsible for managing the organizations cloud infrastructure that supports efficient, robust, scalable, and secure solutions to meet business requirements and technology strategies. Duties & Responsibilities
- Deploy, provision, and manage multiple cloud infrastructure components including but not limited to virtual networks and subnets, virtual machines, applications, containers, serverless, storage, IAM services, virtual network appliances, VDI, logging, and monitoring.
- Contribute to the development, and deployment of cloud business solutions.
- Ability to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions.
- Perform regular management and administration tasks for all cloud services including upgrades, patching, backup, restore, troubleshooting, and issue remediation.
- Automate the provisioning of cloud environments to provide fast and reliable services to a rapidly growing client.
- Assist with the automation of cloud deployment, provisioning, and management tasks.
- Monitor cost of storage, compute, and general utilization of the cloud platform.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.

Skills & Qualifications
