**Job Description:**
Reporting to Senior Manager, the Data Controls Specialist will help to drive evolution of Data Controls (record level / data in motion controls) for TD Securities data sets. Work will include gathering data & requirements analysis, defining solutions and testing as needed to deliver control enhancements for different data sets. This program is to support regulatory needs, operational efficiency and build trust in TDS shared data products.
**Job Accountabilities:**
This is a manager role where you will be expected to gather and present requirements, facilitate review and issue resolution plus drive delivery. This includes:
+ Working collaboratively to understand the data sets, refine the control design and get buy-in from control users, data product managers, source system SMEs and technology, plus ensuring information needed for the technology build is available.
+ Using python to build prototypes of the control designs, to find issues and further refine the control design/requirement to resolve the issues in partnership with the source system SMEs and data product managers.
+ Identifying and addressing issues and risks associated with delivery of the controls.
+ Test planning and execution, engaging partners as appropriate to validate delivered changes align to needs and achieve intended control objectives.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Working under the direction of the Sr. Technical Editor (Data Management), you are to research, analyze, markup and assemble build specific work research packages from multiple data sources such as Bills of Material (BOMs), engineering drawings, and vendor information. Perform manual update research and editing tasks as determined by the Sr. Tech Editor or Publications Coordinator when required.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Create manual section research packages by extracting data from all available sources such as engineering BOMs, product photos, supplier documents, engineering specs, engineering drawings, and use to identify changes or new info to existing bus parts data.
- Effectively organize the assigned research information packages (both hard copy and electronic versions) in order of priority and project strategy so they can be completed and handed over to the illustration group within the deadlines given.
- Complete all Team Center research work tasks as assigned by Technical Editors and following established work procedures.
- Contact any engineering staff or Part Supplier to clarify and verify the accuracy of their data or to source new data if required. This is very important which requires proper communication and investigative skills in order to obtain the required information within the timeframe available for each project. Maintaining a good working relationship with each supplier.
- Maintain proper records of part supplier (vendor) data requests and perform follow-up actions to ensure that data requested is correct and obtained when required.
- Perform all research duties according to established procedures and guidelines and to proactively communicate with Technical Editors at any time when you are not certain.
- Perform editing tasks as determined by the Sr. Tech Editor or Publications Coordinator when required to supplement any shortfalls of editing capacity. Those tasks can include; SRPM template cleaning, editing, statistic reports, mentoring staff and supplying alternative solutions.
- Perform manual update recording and manual bulletin creation when required
- Complete tasks within specified time schedule deadlines and perform quality control checks of all work before handing in.
- Assign New Flyer part numbers to new OEM supplier parts.
- Properly maintain and archive source documentation in both electronic and hard copy formats.
- Collect and communicate to the Technical Editor all data inaccuracies identified during the project so they are promptly recorded into the update system.
- Perform efficiently and effectively in a team environment.
- Consult with Technical Editors for clarification and information.
- Upgrade skills on new or updated software.
Requirements
- Certification/diploma from recognized technical school as a Mechanical Technologist or equivalent workplace experience.
- 3-5 years experience in interpreting Manufacturing BOMs and engineering drawings into service parts lists.
- Heavy equipment/automotive parts manufacturing background.
- Experience in sourcing vendor data.
- Experience with Engineering Data Management systems such as TeamCenter.
- Capable of working under tight deadlines.

Our team comprises graduate computer engineers and computer scientists with diverse industry experience, ranging from 0 to over 20 years. This lab investigates various storage-related topics, including data management, data catalog, data fabric, file systems, storage networks, and AI storage, aiming to advance the field and drive data storage technological progress in the new AI era.
About the job:
Define technology roadmap for AI & data storage, aligning with global R&D and business objectives. Set the global research agenda for AI-optimized storage and data platforms, including data lakes, warehouses, and intelligence systems.
Lead the lab’s transition to data-centric AI data storage research, ensuring our innovations align with industry transformation. Drive pioneering research in AI/LLM-optimized data intelligence systems, scalable data lakes/warehouses and data storage.
Serve as both architect and evangelist, shaping the technical roadmap while maintaining hands-on involvement in critical projects. Hands-on involvement in architecture reviews, performance optimizations, and critical design decisions. Prototype next-gen architectures that unify storage, data analytics, and AI into a cohesive data stack.
Lead a world-class research lab, mentoring top-tier engineers and researchers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Shape industry standards by publishing influential research, patenting novel approaches, and representing Huawei in top-tier tech forums.

We are currently seeking a Data Steward to support our Parts and Accessories Materials Management team. In this key role, you will be responsible for optimizing our data management practices, applying data management best practices, performing relevant operational analysis, and leading critical data conversion activities as part of strategic projects.
This position offers the opportunity to play a central role in the continuous improvement of our processes and operational performance.
YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO :
Develop analytical tools to enable to improve materials master data maintenance and optimize operational processes
Conduct various analyses to identify data-related issues and resolve technical and business problems that impact data quality
Lead data conversion, migration, and validation efforts as part of large-scale projects
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve our processes and results through enhanced data management
Contribute actively to the evolution of our data governance by identifying necessary controls, training users, documenting processes, and ensuring appropriate monitoring tools are in place

YOU WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
Strong analytical skills, with experience in data management or migration, and a strong intellectual curiosity
Knowledge of SAP MM is key
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration,Computer science, Operations Management, Management Information Technology or any other relevant field
2 to 5 years of experience in data management or analysis, ideally in a supply chain or planning environment
Excellent command of SQL; knowledge of Snowflake is considered an asset
Familiarity with analytical tools such as Power BI is an asset
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
