Job Description

The Red Hat Services Consulting team is looking for a Consultant with a background in containerization and cloud-native technologies to join us remotely in the U.S. or Canada.
In this role, you will be a hands-on subject matter expert, specializing in the implementation of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. You'll work directly with our customers to accelerate their application modernization and DevOps journeys, enabling them through practical, hands-on implementation and knowledge sharing.
**What You Will Do**
+ _Work as a hands-on implementer for Red Hat OpenShift projects, responsible for executing technical tasks to achieve project milestones defined by the project architect and manager._
+ _Collaborate directly with customer project teams to automate the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications._
+ _Assist in enabling customer teams by sharing best practices for building and operating a robust container platform._
+ _Troubleshoot technical challenges related to the platform, networking, storage, and application integration._
+ _Contribute to project documentation, including deployment guides, automation runbooks, and architectural diagrams._

**What You Will Bring**
+ _3+ years in a hands-on technology role, such as consulting, site reliability engineering (SRE), or platform operations._
+ _2+ years of direct, hands-on experience with_ **_Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform_** _or upstream_ **_Kubernetes_** _in enterprise environments._
+ _Solid experience with_ **_Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)_** _administration and troubleshooting._
+ _Experience with automation tools like_ **_Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform_** _,_ **_Terraform_** _, or_ **_Helm_** _._
+ _A good understanding of CI/CD principles and practical experience with tools like_ **_Jenkins_** _,_ **_Tekton_** _, or_ **_ArgoCD_** _._
+ _Experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)._
**Nice to Have**
+ Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or Application Development, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
+ Experience with software-defined networking (SDN), particularly OVN-Kubernetes, and enterprise networking concepts (VLANs, Load Balancers, Firewalls).
+ Familiarity with container-native storage technologies like Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation, Ceph, or Portworx.
+ Experience with container security best practices and tools, such as Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes (ACS) or other static and runtime scanners.
+ Knowledge of observability tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, and log aggregation solutions like the EFK/ELK stack.
+ Experience deploying and managing OpenShift on various infrastructures, including bare metal, VMware vSphere, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, or public clouds.
+ Familiarity with OpenShift Virtualization and managing virtual machines alongside containers.
**What Your First Year Will Look Like**
+ Within 2 months: You will complete an intensive, customized training program. You'll be prepared to join a project team, having mastered Red Hat's OpenShift best practices and consulting methodologies.
+ Within 6 months: You will be a key technical contributor on customer projects, responsible for implementing assigned tasks from the project backlog and delivering successful automation solutions with the Red Hat portfolio.
+ Within 12 months: You will be demonstrating technical leadership, successfully implementing complex, enterprise-grade OpenShift solutions and sharing your expertise with our internal and external communities of practice.
The salary range for this position is $113,500.00 - $181,440.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat's compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. A The Cloud Solutions Team Lead is a single-threaded, experienced technical lead, responsible for guiding and mentoring the team, ensuring high-quality project delivery and maintaining best practices. Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of cloud administrators fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Deploy, provision, and manage multiple cloud infrastructure components including but not limited to virtual networks and subnets, virtual machines, applications, containers, serverless, storage, IAM services, virtual network appliances, VDI, logging, and monitoring.
  • Manage the development and deployment of cloud business solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert and performs regular management and administration tasks for all cloud services including upgrades, patching, backup, restore, troubleshooting, and issue remediation.
  • Automate the provisioning of cloud environments to provide fast and reliable services to a rapidly growing client.
  • Assist with the automation of cloud deployment, provisioning, and management tasks.
  • Monitor cost of storage, compute, and general utilization of the cloud platform.

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, related discipline.
  • 4+ years experience working with Azure cloud and GCP; experience with working with AWS is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple cloud services and technologies including but not limited to: virtual machines and virtual machine scale sets, containers and AKS, App Service, Azure Functions, databases, Azure AD, Data Factory, VPN Gateways, Load Balancers, Azure Storage, Azure Files, Network Security Groups, etc. SQL.
  • Completed AZ 104 certification
  • Experience supporting themanagement of secure cloud operations and corporate networks.
  • Experience in configuring and deploying secure, scalable, and high-availability enterprise.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

The Cloud solutions engineer is responsible for supporting and managing clients’ databases and cloud infrastructure. This includes design, implementation, migration of databases and applications, monitoring, and ensuring the security of clients’ cloud infrastructure.

As a key player in our organization, you will undertake important work directly impacting our customers located throughout North America and Europe and advancing our mission to deliver best-in-class Oracle solutions.

Your mission consists of:

  • Supporting our client’s Oracle environments (databases and applications) according to a 24/7 on‑call schedule;
  • Ability to map business architectures through cloud technical solutions compliant with industry standards;
  • Ability to design cloud infrastructures that answers business needs;
  • Contribute to the creation of a cloud infrastructure roadmap and strategies to drive business adoption;
  • Define and execute a migration strategy to move workloads onto the cloud;

Participate in Agile sprints and ceremonies; support rapid iteration and development
Responsible for designing, developing, testing, maintaining and improving application APIs as a member of a team, work across key data, orchestration, rules and transactional stacks through the entire application and system development life cycle.
Builds code to specifications and standards
Creates and conducts executable tests, continuously integrating code into the overall software framework
Researches technical strategies, third party tools, and current and new technologies to deal with emerging technical issues and improve development efficiency
Promotes agile principles and methodology
**Required Qualifications:**
1+ years Cloud Engineer experience
1+ years of experience in Azure Cloud
1+ years Golang programming experience
Good knowledge of Unix and Bosh CLI
Experience with end-to-end application development in open-stack technologies running in private, public or hybrid datacenter locations is preferred.
Software development in an agile environment with a focus on DevOps with CI/CD.
Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to communicate at different management levels.
Familiar with platform technologies, modern software architectures and API-driven development, scripting languages, technologies such as: API Gateways, Messaging, Data Event Streaming, REST, SOAP, Distributed Tracing, Relational and Document Database Interface/SQL
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or relevant field.
Experience with at least one end-end enterprise implementation using PaaS preferable AKS.
Experience working with Public/Private/Hybrid cloud architecture (PaaS) using AKS preferably and Azure, Azure SQL, etc.
Experience in Terraform, Infra as Code, and Desired State Configuration is highly desired.
