Reporting to the Site Superintendent | Civil, the Construction Dump Truck Driver safely operates dump trucks to transport materials to and from construction sites. These operators are skilled professionals who ensure the safe and efficient operation of civil machinery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate heavy machinery and equipment according to project requirements and safety guidelines.
• Safely operate and drive dump trucks to transport materials to and from construction sites.
• Load and unload materials using heavy equipment such as forklifts.
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
• Monitor equipment operation to identify and address any performance issues or malfunctions.
• Adhere to project schedules and deadlines, completing tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report progress, issues, and concerns.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with a clean driving record
• Only valid licensed Class 1 | Class 3 Dump Truck Drivers with clean abstracts will be considered.
• Previous experience operating dump trucks and | or other commercial vehicles essential.
• Knowledge of basic automotive repair and maintenance.
• Site work experience.
• Certification or training in heavy equipment operation preferred.
• Proven experience operating heavy machinery in a construction site.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to heavy equipment operation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Physical stamina and endurance to withstand long hours and perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

We are looking for you!  DZ Driver (Construction Sites) In this role, you’ll work with the Logistics Manager   to organize your daily schedule, a small team of drivers, and will report to the General Manager. You’ll prioritize safety, follow all rules of the road, load/unload vehicles, and ensure the correct materials arrive at the correct sites across the GTA on time, complying with our policies and procedures. Practically speaking, you will: * Operate flatbed vehicle weighted for D class license to safely pick up and deliver scaffolding gear and equipment, performing pre-trip inspection of vehicle * Record information on pick-ups and deliveries such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs, or any problems, and report accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle issues or damage  * Safely load and unload materials onto the trucks, check load-related documentation to ensure completion and accuracy, and maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service/repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations * Communicate effectively with the site crews, customers, and co-workers * Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly   secured  * Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift (e.g., daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.) We’re looking for safety-minded people who are organized and detail-oriented, have great interpersonal skills, and are strong written and verbal communicators who can engage with customers and fellow employees. Your Role: Delivery Truck Driver reporting to our Logistics Manager

What You Bring:

• Safely and efficiently operate company-owned trucks to transport goods between suppliers, Tech-Wood locations, and designated destinations.
• Load and unload materials from the truck using appropriate equipment and securing loads to prevent damage during transportation.
• Optimize delivery routes to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring that all safety and maintenance standards are met.
• Adhere to all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while on the road.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of driving activities, including hours of service, vehicle inspections, and cargo records.
• Communicate effectively with the Logistics department to coordinate delivery schedules and update on any delays or issues.
• Keep accurate records of deliveries: fill out hazard assessments for each job site and obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery as required.
• Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient processes.
• Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and pickups, acting as a representative of the company.
• Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks on the truck, such as checking oil levels and tire pressure and ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency, and cost savings.
• Follow Health and Safety and Quality policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.
  
• May be assigned to do, fill, or help with another task as requested by the Logistics Manager if cross-trained.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Valid Class 5 Drivers license (will require a drivers abstract).
• Minimum three years of experience as a professional truck driver.
• Experience operating a 5-ton truck.
• Crane operation experience is required.
• A forklift ticket is an asset.
