ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain Geospatial (Arcmap) databases
- Collect and compile peatland activity and harvest data
- Collaborate with the Natural Resource Manager on projects in New Brunswick and Quebec to prepare and submit land applications for approval.
- Foster long-term relationships and partnerships with diverse government and non-profit organizations.
- Prepare and track the capital expenditure request for peatlands
- Oversee peatland development and coordinate with the peatland restoration team
- Assist with quality sampling processes
- Assist with the monitoring of our Veriflora certification standard
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the peat industry is an asset
- Experience in obtaining permits and government applications would be an asset
- Experience collaborating with First Nations groups, government departments, and consultants would be beneficial.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and other database systems
- Able to work with minimal supervision
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry or Environmental Studies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Walking, sitting, and standing for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- The environment can sometimes be dusty and noisy.
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions is possible, and temperatures can be hot or cold, depending on the site

Value Creation capabilities have recently been centralized across the fund into a newly established group called Portfolio Solutions Group (PSG) to drive greater focus on delivering value creation plans pre- and post-deal during our ownership.
This role would be predominantly focused on the Infrastructure and Natural Resources (INR) asset classes but could involve exposure to other asset classes. Our work is project-based and provides exposure to a broad range of sectors including renewable energy, water utilities, and agriculture businesses.

Who you'll work with
You will be part of the Value Creation team (VCT) for INR within PSG, a distinct team within the Investment division at OTPP. The PSG mandate is to work on value creation and value protection initiatives together with our highly-specialized asset teams as well as the management teams of our companies. You will be working in close partnership with the INR team to grow, inflation-linked cash flows over a long-term investment horizon.
The overall PSG team consists of over 35 investment professionals with a long track record of working with asset classes to drive returns.
What you'll do
As an Associate within the VCT (INR) team, you will be working on distinct projects that are meaningful to either an individual company, the INR portfolio or to the PSG functional Centres of Excellence that span across asset classes.
In particular, you will:
Use your strong relationship management / consulting skills to work with investment professionals on real world problems and have the benefit of seeing your recommendations come to life within our portfolio companies
Lead analyses (and potentially projects) on tough questions that drive towards the best outcome for PSG, INR and the Fund which could include initiatives related to growth, operational improvement, talent and governance, for example
Identify key value drivers and risks in Infrastructure and Natural Resources companies to help determine priorities for PSG
Work in an ambiguous environment where the answer is not always obvious
Identify the ‘so what’ and think outside the box
Learn about asset management for a diversified, global portfolio
Prepare presentations and reports to senior investment professionals
Have responsibilities that allow you to gain exposure to both the breadth and depth of our portfolio companies - you will have responsibilities for both key portfolio-wide initiatives, as well as, work on specific portfolio company projects
What you'll need
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a top-tier program
2-5+ years of experience at a leading strategy consulting firm or equivalent
Experience and strong interest in investment industry, private equity, value creation, and strategy
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills for in-depth analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to influence teams and stakeholders, challenge the status quo, and drive change
Demonstrated ability to work in teams and independently, balancing multiple priorities
Intellectual curiosity and adaptability in an ever-changing, ambiguous environment
Knowledge of and experience in Infrastructure or Natural Resource companies is an asset
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

ABOUT WILLIAMS LAKE FIRST NATION (WLFN)
The Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN), or the Texelcemc (people of WLFN) have belonged to the Secwepemc (or Shuswap) Nation for over 6500 years. Today, the WLFN community includes a growing population of over 800 registered members who live on reserve in Sugar Cane, in nearby Williams Lake, BC, and across the globe.

POSITION
Under the guidance of the Senior Law Enforcement Officer, the Law Enforcement Officer is responsible for the enforcement of the Williams Lake First Nation's (WLFN) laws, programs, and initiatives through a proactive, sustainable, trauma-informed, holistic approach to community safety. This job will conduct investigations and inspections, respond to complaints in a professional and timely manner and work to achieve voluntary compliance whenever possible, utilizing excellent customer service skills. The Law Enforcement Officer will have a vital role in working closely with the WLFN administration, other external agencies, and community members to promote a safe and secure place for the members of Williams Lake First Nation.

Probation Period
3 months from the date of hire.
Education Required
- Bylaw Certificate.
- Graduated recruit training from a recognized Police, Sheriff, CBSA, Federal Corrections, DFO or equivalent training from other Law Enforcement Agencies.
- RCMP Security Cleared RCMP Reliability Status Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Bondable and clear criminal records check.
- First Aid and CPR Certificate.
Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years experience in by-law enforcement or a related field. Peace officer experience may be considered.
Overtime Status
Non-Exempt.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Law Enforcement
- Monitor and ensure compliance with respect to the various WLFN policies and laws, such as the WLFN Fire Protection Law, WLFN Trespass & Nuisance Law, WLFN Cannabis Law, WLFN Land Code, Animal Control, and WLFN Matrimonial Real Property Law in the WLFN community.
- Investigate and track complaint areas and manage files to completion.
- Undertake enforcement duties, including the issuing of fixed penalties for offenses.
- Liaises with other stakeholders, including government agencies, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies, including (but not limited to) RCMP, City of Williams Lake, 150 Mile House Fire Department, Ministry of Environment, BC Conservation, and BC Corrections.
- Work with the WLFN Indigenous Policing Services (IPS) Constable (RCMP member assigned to WLFN to support prevention and promote relationships).
- Collaborate with the WLFN Social Development and Health Station team to provide support services and referrals to child or youth endangerment issues.
- Inspect properties to determine compliance with WLFN Housing policy in conjunction with the Housing department.
- Attend and give evidence in court, if required.
- Research and prepare correspondence, including Orders to Comply.
- Follow up with concerns from staff regarding safety issues with clients.
- Promote public safety in all areas including vehicle safety, ATV, snowmobile safety, bicycle safety, pedestrian safety, etc.
- Discuss law requirements with individuals involved and attempt to reach an understanding and obtain voluntary compliance with the law.
- Patrol community during work hours to ensure safety. Work with PD Security after hours as directed by immediate supervisor.
- Deliver BCRs, eviction notices, etc. when requested.
- Be available to discuss key community issues with elected officials and the CAO during duly convened Council meetings.
- Supports the mission, vision, and values of Williams Lake First Nation.
- Contributes to WLFNs ongoing success by accomplishing other duties as required or assigned.
Community Safety
- Provide a visible presence in our communities in order to reduce the fear of crime and reassure local people and make them feel safe and proud of where they live.
- Develop community spirit, by being approachable, responsive and by communicating positive news and dealing with problems quickly and professionally.
- Support vulnerable residents of all ages in a courteous and sensitive manner.
- Develop links with youth and other community groups and work with them to cut down on disorder.
- Encourage residents to take responsibility for reporting anti-social behavior and the outcomes of such behavior.
- Promote a caring, helpful, and unbiased attitude towards residents, visitors, the general public and remain polite and courteous.
- Report community safety issues raised by members, or environmental problems they see around them e.g. incidents, hazards, defects, fly-tipping, dog fouling, graffiti, litter, and vandalism.
- Write concise reports following incidents and process information accurately.
- Participate and assist in community-based events or at local initiatives.
- Undertake basic administrative and clerical duties as required.
- Monitor situations using CCTV or other equipment.
- Attend community-based meetings as directed, often in the evening.
