We are looking for a reliable Handyman to undertake upkeep and repair tasks at the interior or exterior of premises. We will rely on you to keep our facilities in perfect condition by doing various odd jobs.

Responsibilities

• Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants.
• Prepare floors/walls for installations.
• Ability to install tiles in various construction areas.
• Perform maintenance and light repairs.
• Perform routine landscaping on the grounds.
• Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks etc.)
• Undertake light installation or carpentry (e.g., build cabinets)
• Repair equipment or appliances
• Assist in electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs.
• Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g., shoveling snow)
• Identify and report the need for major repairs.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience as handyman
• Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems.
• Good communication ability
• Vehicle to travel to various job sites across the GTA (must have driver’s license
• Well-organized and apt in problem-solving

Duties/ Responsibilities

Dependent on your background and experience, duties may include:

• Assist trades with any duties they need help with
• Inventory counting and management
• Unloading and loading materials  
• Site cleanup and organization (housekeeping)
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary hoarding, guardrails
• Digging trenches, chipping concrete, snow removal, flagging, pour watching
• Operate skid steer, zoom boon, aerial work platform (internal training provided) 
• Rigging 

Working Conditions

• 40 hours per week. Most shifts start at 7:00 am but hours may vary based on site requirements. 
• Overtime and work on weekends as required. On average, our workers typically work around 50 hours per week.
• Long term, steady, year-round work
• One paid 15-minute break and one ½ hour unpaid lunch break per day
• Combination of inside and outside work. Appropriate dress required.
• Working at heights.
