Heavy Equipment Operator
As a heavy equipment operator, you’ll be spending most of your time working with a variety of heavy machinery, primarily excavators but also including bulldozers, loaders, skidsteers and rollers, while making sure that the machines are in good working order. There will be many different tasks from day to day, so we need someone who’s competent and willing to learn new skills. We also want someone who can work independently and can take initiative when there are unexpected challenges.

**What You'll Be Doing:**
+ Work with management to pre-plan and schedule daily and overall heavy equipment maintenance and repair to prevent functional breakdowns.
+ Performing diagnostics, repair, preventative maintenance, and safety checks on all heavy equipment.
+ Maintaining heavy equipment maintenance and repair records.
+ Physically securing equipment to ensure safety during maintenance activities.
+ Maintenance and repair of equipment hydraulic systems.
+ Determining methods and sequence of troubleshooting, repair operations, and modifications to equipment by working from manufacturers manuals, drawings, and specifications, installation layouts and sketches and verbal or written instructions.
+ Performs such typical operations as dismantling, diagnosing problem cause, repairing, mechanical servicing, and reassembling, installing and test operations of assigned equipment.
+ Replace worn or broken parts, make adjustments and alignments as required, clean areas, and prepare equipment for full service.
**What Required Skills You'll Bring:**
+ Heavy Equipment Mechanic Journey person with Provincial or Red seal with 5 at least years experience
+ Proficient with basic computer systems including Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications and previous exposure to CMMS systems is an advantage.
+ Experienced in using mechanical tools of the trade including diagnostic tools. Extensive experience in hydraulics.
+ Ability to interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and manufacturer diagrams and manuals, and follow written and verbal instructions in accordance with established procedures.
+ Valid class 5 driver's license with clean abstract.
+ Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
+ Ability to work away from home for up to 21 days and in adverse conditions.
+ Ability to work productively both within a team and when working alone. Strong customer service skills.

This will be a remote camp job located in a remote Northern Saskatchewan area near Creighton, Saskatchewan. The project is anticipated for completion in March 2026.
Taking direction from the foreman or lead hand, The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of equipment and daily pre and post maintenance checks. The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include loaders, dozers, excavators, graders and other pieces of equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team to efficiently and effectively complete jobs within deadlines
- Able and willing to travel to remote camp site
- Able and willing to accommodate frequent overtime hours and weekend hours in alignment with project needs
- Able and willing to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions and environments inclusive of heavy lifting
- Able and willing to undergo Pre-Access D&A testing as per project/site requirements
