**About the role**

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Foreman to lead our landscape construction team. The successful candidate will be overseeing and coordinating various landscape construction activities including planting, sod installation, hardscaping, irrigation and equipment operation.

* Installing and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscapes.
* Installation of various hardscape features.
* Performing general landscaping duties: planting, placing sod, grading yards, ordering materials.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.



**What we’re looking for**

* 2+ years experience in a lead hand or foreman position in the construction industry.
* Experience or knowledge in landscaping a strong asset.
* Experience with hardscape & irrigation installation an asset.
* Valid drivers license.
* Ability to lift heavy items up to 50lbs.

The Foreman will be responsible for the supervision of all construction activities that take place on the work site. The role will work with Site Superintendent on all field aspects of the project budget, schedule, and productivity. This role is within Regina, SK 

Your contributions to the team:

  • Assessing competency and capability of tradespersons/ crew and providing training and coaching
  • Assigning and following up on crew tasks
  • Coordinate with trade contractors for proper sequencing
  • Assist sub-contractors in scheduling their work and provide direction as needed
  • Work with Site Superintendent on all field aspects of the project budget, schedule, and productivity
  • Recognizing, addressing, and resolving issues or problems among crew
  • Setting and maintaining work standards and outlining behavioral expectations to ensure crew morale and productivity

What you need to be successful:

  • 5 years of construction experience in residential, wood frame, multifamily construction
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all building techniques, building codes, and safety regulations associated with the construction of multi-story apartment buildings
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and architectural schematics
  • Established excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizing and management skills to achieve time efficiency and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability in decision making and taking ownership with his action
  • Consistently perform all work in a safe manner, following work instructions and/or safe operating procedure

  • Liaise with project managers, trades, and inspectors as required

  • Maintain a safe, efficient, and organized job site

  • Perform and oversee layout, excavation, grading, and cleanup as needed

Requirements:
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in civil construction, including excavation and grading

  • Experience supervising small- to medium-sized site crews

  • Comfortable using GPS grading systems

  • Familiarity with site safety protocols and leadership best practices

  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation preferred

  • Coach and mentor employees to develop technical skills and on Valard’s safety policies and procedure

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere within the group as well as Client relations when interacting with the Client
  • Address any crew issues/Conflicts with Site Supervisor as they arise

Requirements

  • Journeyman designation in a related trade (Power System Electrician / Construction Electrician / PowerLine Tech)
  • 5+ years of experience in the construction industry
  • Proven Experience in medium to high-voltage substation construction considered an asset
  • A combination of education and experience may also be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to Manage Medium sized work groups safely and efficiently
  • Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, project scheduling, cost and quality control
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
