We are recruiting for the role of Construction Superintendent to oversee the execution of construction deliverables for a variety of ICI construction projects.
Requirements
- Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in construction projects
- Ability to read construction drawings (mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, arch.)
- Understands technical language in construction projects
- Required to work after hours when needed
- Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, and vendors to complete each project on time
- Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of the project
- Communicate with the project team and support each subcontractor to execute their job duties effectively and efficiently
- Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet the varying safety and compliance regulations of each job location
- Maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and problems resolved on the job site
- Travel between multiple job sites and simultaneously manage workloads of individual projects
- Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and cooperating with team members in various roles as necessary
- Set an example in keeping the job seat organized and clean, including meeting standards for waste disposal and environmental protection
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction projects
- Experience as a construction superintendent
- Proficiency in project management software tools such as MS Project, and P6
- Basic knowledge of software programs, such as Master Builder, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to vendors, government officials, and clients
- Good reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Excellent verbal communication skills, especially when addressing customers, clients or official visitors to the jobsite
- Keen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problems
- Familiarity with the operation of office equipment, such as digital cameras, fax machines, computers, copiers, and telephones
- Ability to stand for several hours at a time and to walk in varying climate conditions and on uneven ground
- Experience with managing demanding clients and offering creative solutions to meet commitments and requests

Job DescriptionAs our Superintendent , you’ll lead day-to-day construction activities, enforce safety and quality standards, and partner closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to drive projects across the finish line—on time, on budget, and with the craftsmanship our reputation depends on.
- Continuously monitor project budget and forecasting to the individual phase code level and cost type for potential gains and losses

- Pitch in hands-on when needed, including night shifts or extended hours, to overcome challenges and meet critical milestones
Expected Salary: $105,000 - $30,000 based on experience and education.

- 5+ years’ experience as a Superintendent for a large general contractor on commercial builds

- Able and willing to travel and work across the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and Fraser Valley
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Electrical Superintendent - LRT
Mission
We are looking for an Electrical Superintendent who will work closely with the project team to coordinate the project to the satisfaction of the client, consistent with the costs, schedule, and contractual requirements. Will be responsible for coordination of all production requirements related to the work, including but not limited to safety, quality, administration, scheduling, cost controls, client/ subcontractor/ craft communication and management. Electrical or LRT experience is required.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure Construction is in full compliance with the Project Agreement, including matters relating to quality, safety, environment, and life cycle performance, such as Project's ECO Plan, Health and Safety Plan, and all applicable legislation.
- Interface management between internal and adjacent teams, includes subcontractors.
- Coordinate with other segments to schedule adjacent works ensuring that the enabling functions are performed in accordance with the schedule.
- Ensure maintenance of total quality performance standards, procedures and audit controls to meet project requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of site operations.
- Foster client confidence in project leadership, this is done in the field and in meetings as assigned by your manager.
- Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision, facilitating solutions to inquiries to the design team in cooperation with the Construction Field Coordinators and management group.
- Contribute to the preparation and execution of work plans and work packages, understanding the milestones and what resources are required to accommodate the project demands.

- Ensure budgets are managed and maintained by coordinating material and equipment needs and cost understanding of the materials and equipment ordered.
- Attend daily prestart meetings with the crews, including subcontractors, recording names of attendees, confirm daily tasks and work to be completed.
- Establish and maintain the expected crew hours for specific tasks, ensure that shifts are not overrunning hours and maintain the budget with crew control measures.
- Develop crew resource strategies that account for peaks and valleys in all work cycles and seasons as well as staffing of the crews accordingly (I.E. - apprentice to JM ratio, GF to worker ratio).
- Check and approve time sheets as they are submitted, verify that hours match the intended duration, hold accountable field staff for their hours worked relative to their deliverable output.
- Physically maintain an on-site presence to monitor progress, address and manage issues and other site related matters as they arise.
- Full participation in safety deliverables, including but not limited to inspections, near miss reporting, incident investigation, on boarding new staff, JHA/FLHA/SWP development.
- Accountable to management for the team's safety performance for assigned work scope.
- Ensure that work areas are set up for success with access, routing, parking, and general logistics.
- Work with the Construction Field Coordination team to ensure that concrete, survey, quality, safety and Environmental inspections are booked and executed with accuracy.

- ICI interior fit-up/fixturing experience is a bonus
- Buildertrend software experience preferred
Requirements:
- Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle, preferably a truck, work van, or SUV
- Trade certification is an asset.
- Must own and be proficient with hand tools, basic power tools, and personal safety equipment.
- WHMIS, Working at Heights, Fall Arrest, CPR/First Aid
- Basics of Supervision Certification
