Responsibilities:
- Uphold company policies and submit timesheets/service reports accurately
- Execute and lead technical tasks including:
- Electrical and Fluid Power Designs (EPLAN, AutoCAD)
- PLC & HMI Software Development (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Omron, Toyopuc)
- Robot Programming and Setup (ABB, Fanuc, Motoman, Nachi, Kuka)
- Motion Control Systems (Rockwell, Siemens, Bosch)
- Peripheral systems (vision systems, marking systems, weld systems)
- Participate in stand-ups, work planning, and technical reviews
- Utilize Jira for progress updates and ticket management
- Manage client relationships and project scope
- Lead commissioning, testing, and debugging of automation systems
- Ensure accurate and complete project documentation
- Promote efficiencies and continuous improvement
- Stay current with applicable standards, codes, and rules
- Support clients during regular hours, after hours, and weekends as required
- Engage in initiatives to share knowledge and support team development
- Purchase hardware and materials for projects
- Maintain and develop technical knowledge through training and industry events
- Utilize non-chargeable time efficiently through approved activities
- Identify potential projects and opportunities for RidgeTech Automation
- Perform other relevant tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or Robotics & Automation
- 3-5 years of practical experience in the controls and automation industry
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes
- Ability to work independently and deliver fully tested work
- Coaching skills to provide feedback and direction
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
- Experience with various vendor hardware and software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective time management and task ownership
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Quick learner, able to work independently or in a team
- Initiative to learn and complete training
- Ability to manage stress and maintain a pleasant disposition
- Experience with Java, HTML, Python, Visual Basic, and/or database programming is an asset

- Proficient in PLCs (Siemens, Rockwell, etc.)
- Profound understanding of control algorithms and design practices
- Knowledgeable in industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Modbus, CAN etc.)

The Co-op Student will be responsible for contributing to technical projects and tasks as assigned by the Systems Integration Manager. During the work term, they will be expected to learn, take initiative, and contribute to ongoing business activities. When possible, Co-op Students are assigned to ongoing projects and will work under the direction of a Team Lead. Skills and Qualifications
- Current enrolment in a post-secondary degree/diploma co-op program in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems, Robotics & Automation, or equivalent
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes and the desire to learn in the automation industry, specifically with regards to electrical drawing review, standard coding practices for PLC/HMI/Robotic systems, motion control and other devices typically found in industrial control systems
- Positive attitude and ability to communicate well with both clients and team members.
- Ability to follow instructions and work on tasks with individual steps broken down
- Highly motivated team player with a continued openness to learn new troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
- Time management skills and ability to manage and own tasks with the support of a team environment
- Desire to learn, complete training, and provide value when executing non-chargeable work
- Flexibility and willingness to work with a multitude of vendors' hardware and software
- Experience with Java, HTML, Python, Visual Basic, and/or database programming would be considered an asset

Working from the control room, you will be responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, managing access control points, responding to alarms, and supporting dispatch coordination.
As a Security Guard- Control Room you are required to have strong communication skills , technical competency , and the ability to remain calm, alert, and responsive throughout your shift. Your performance will directly contribute to the safety of guests, tenants, and the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor CCTV , access control systems , and life safety alarms from the control room
- Conduct virtual patrols and monitor multiple screens for unusual activity
- Dispatch mobile or foot patrol officers to incidents or areas of concern
- Log all security-related activities using digital reporting tools
- Respond quickly to alarms and coordinate with emergency responders when needed
- Control access to restricted areas and issue visitor passes as required
- Maintain clear and continuous communication with field personnel via radio or phone
- Follow all emergency and site-specific procedures for escalations and safety responses
