Langley Chiropractic and Wellness is a multidisciplinary clinic located in the heart of Walnut Grove. We are currently seeking a **licensed Counselor** to join our collaborative and supportive team of health professionals.
**Position Overview:**
The ideal candidate will be experienced in working with ICBC cases, as well as providing support for clients with a variety of mental health and wellness needs. We're looking for someone who is compassionate, client-focused, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.
**Requirements:**
* Registered and in good standing with a recognized professional college or association (e.g., RCC, RSW, CCC)
* Experience working with ICBC cases is preferred
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to collaborate with other practitioners in a multidisciplinary setting

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County (MCC) is seeking passionate and dedicated Career Counselors to support newcomers and community members in achieving their employment goals. In this role, you will guide clients in exploring career options, setting goals, building job search strategies, and connecting to training and education pathways.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in employment counseling, excellent communication and networking skills, and a solid understanding of local labor market trends. Most importantly, they will share our commitment to helping individuals reach their professional potential.
POSITION SUMMARY DETAILS:
Conduct one-on-one career counseling sessions with clients to assess their skills, interests, and goals.
- Provide guidance and support in resume writing, cover letter preparation, and job application strategies.
- Offer assistance in developing and refining job search techniques, including online job search, networking, and utilizing community resources.
- Facilitate workshops and group sessions on topics such as interview skills, job market trends, and career planning.
- Collaborate with other staff members to connect clients with relevant training programs, educational institutions, and employment opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, progress notes, and program documentation.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with employers to develop job opportunities for job seekers.
- Collaborate with employers to understand their hiring needs and requirements.
- Match job seekers with suitable employment opportunities based on skills, experience, and preferences.
- Provide job seekers with guidance and support in preparing for interviews, writing resumes, and developing job search strategies.
- Conduct job readiness workshops and training sessions to equip job seekers with the necessary skills for employment.
- Stay informed about local labor market trends, industry demands, and emerging job opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of job placements, employer contacts, and job seeker progress.
- Act as a liaison between job seekers and employers to facilitate smooth communication and address any concerns or issues.
- Collaborate with other members of the team to coordinate job placement efforts and achieve program goals.
- Stay updated on relevant policies, regulations, and resources related to employment services.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, counseling, social work, or a related field (preferred).
- Ability to speak multiple languages is considered an asset.
- Proven experience in job development, recruitment, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of local labor market trends and employment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with employers and job seekers.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in using computer applications such as MS Office and job search databases.
- Knowledge of career development theories and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing job market dynamics and client needs.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workforce.
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Familiarity with workforce development programs and community resources.
- Certification in job development or related areas
