Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) is a regulated health care professional who is accountable and responsible for providing quality patient focused nursing care to patients in the Coronary Care Unit. As part of the inter-professional health care team, the RN will practice according to the nursing practice expectations set by Osler, the regulatory practice standards of the College of Nurses and the legislative requirements set by the Regulated Health Professions Act.
Accountabilities:
- Safe nursing practice in all aspects of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care
- Compliance with policies and procedures associated with observations
- Professional, patient-centred care to ensure patient safety and physiological and psychological well-being, associated with creating a therapeutic relationship and environment
- Providing care in a compassionate and caring manner within a diverse cultural environment
- Practicing according to the infection control and prevention measures
- Responding to emergency situations by recognizing changes in patient's health status and consulting appropriately when necessary using transfer of accountability principles
- Providing health teaching to patients and families including thorough discharge instructions to ensure the continuity of care in the community
- Acute care experience within the last five years, with a minimum of two years in an acute cardiac or critical care environment required
- ACLS required
- Coronary Care I, II and III required, or successful completion of Critical Care certificate or willingness to obtain CC3 within 1 year of hire
- Must pass an arrhythmia quiz obtaining an 80% to move on to the interview phase
- Critical Care certificate preferred

Job DescriptionOsler is pleased to invite all interested and qualified candidates to apply for sponsorship to attend the Critical Care certification program at George Brown College for the upcoming intake. Successful applicants for the in-class program will receive funding for tuition, 13 weeks of paid education time and approximately four weeks of paid department orientation/integration time. Upon successful completion of the Critical Care certification program, you agree to commit to a period of 24 months of full time employment at Osler's Critical Care Departments.

Job DescriptionThe Georgetown Hospital Emergency Department serves the communities of Halton, Halton Hills, and the surrounding areas. Our ED is a 15-bed unit with a separate Rapid Assessment Fast Track (RAFT) zone. We serve patients of all ages and treat patients of every medical and mental health illness. Last year we served over 39,000 patient visits.
Our 24-hour staff are comprised of nurses, physicians, physician assistants and many other team members of a robust multidisciplinary team. Our team includes a dedicated mental health and internal medicine resources to ensure comprehensive assessments of patients for timely referrals and/or admission.
Qualifications- Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Heart & Stroke Approved BLS Provider Card upon hire.
- Previous Emergency Department experience required
- Experience in triage and in-charge responsibilities required
- ACLS certificate required at time of hire and ongoing.
- Completion of an on-site sponsored course is required within one year of hire date
- Successful completion of Canadian Emergency Nursing Certification Exam would be an asset
- Successful completion of post-diploma Emergency courses, e.g. TNCC, ENPC, PALS, would be an asset

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our interprofessional team, providing low to medium intensity, time-limited rehabilitation services to older adults. The focus of this program is restorative and rehabilitative, supporting clients to regain independence, promote optimal health, and return to living in their own homes with or without supports. When home is not a safe option, the team also provides recommendations for alternative living arrangements.
As a member of a coordinated team that includes Geriatricians, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Nurses, and Rehabilitation Assistants, the Registered Nurse plays a vital role in assessment, individualized treatment planning, and ongoing client support. The program also collaborates with Home and Community Care Support Services to ensure continuity of care and smooth transitions back into the community. Referrals to specialized providers such as Psychologists, Dietitians, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Spiritual Care Associates are available as needed.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of older adults by fostering independence, supporting recovery, and enhancing quality of life.
