Job Description

The Senior Cybersecurity Specialist plays a key role in implementing and maintaining the company’s cybersecurity program, working closely with the IT team.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deploy and manage security solutions and controls to protect the organization. You will also advise IT and business teams on security and compliance requirements.

This hybrid role combines security project management with operational support. It requires strong technical skills, autonomy, and a commitment to quality service.

With solid coordination abilities, you will lead activities with internal stakeholders and service providers to ensure the operational effectiveness of controls, platforms, and technologies, and support the evolution of cybersecurity strategic plans.

Responsibilities :

  • Strengthen SecOps leadership within the company’s cybersecurity team.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third parties to implement remediation plans.
  • Prioritize risk mitigation in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Work closely with architects and other departments to ensure compliance with security programs.
  • Investigate security incidents, recommend or apply remediation actions, assess attack scope and affected systems, and collect data for analysis.
  • Identify infrastructure vulnerabilities using detection systems.
  • Recommend improvements to the company’s cybersecurity posture.
  • Stay current on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and defense techniques.
  • Help develop security policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents and security trends for leadership.
Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity and 3 years in a similar role;
  • Cloud security posture management (Azure/Google);
  • Vulnerability management: risk classification, patching, false positive analysis;
  • Development and maintenance of Security Operations Center (SecOps) activities;
  • Strong skills in incident detection and response, including identifying malicious activity; 
  • Proficiency with security tools: SIEM, EDR, DLP, Threat Intelligence, etc.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows environments; 
  • Ability to collaborate with IT teams and lead end-to-end initiatives; 
  • Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework, especially mapping SIEM use cases to tactics and techniques;
  • Knowledge of security standards (NIST, ISO 27001);
  • Information security certifications (CISSP, CEH, Security+, OSCP, etc.) are considered assets;
  • Strong leadership, creativity, autonomy, sense of responsibility and priorities, with a solution-oriented approach;
  • Oral and written fluency in French and English *

*A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.

Lead the design and execution of the enterprise security operations processes, procedures, and playbooks as it pertains to CSPM, CWPP, Containers.
Manage and monitor: cloud resource entitlements to reduce access risks,
cyber tooling output and conduct spot checks for accuracy,
cloud configurations to ensure compliance with security best practices (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Manage detection engineering security operations projects, including process improvement and technology investment in the CLOUD.
Conduct research within the fields of Security Observability, Vulnerability, Cloud and Container security to develop new strategies and execute deliveries to protect against threats
Manage technical aspects of BRP’s cyber technology providers in order to make sure BRP Cyber tech stack is providing all the necessary detective protections.
Conduct research within the fields of Security Observability, Vulnerability, Cloud and Container security to develop new strategies and execute deliveries to protect against threats. Stay current with industry trends, emerging threats, and new technologies to ensure the effectiveness of the detection and response capabilities.
Respond to monitoring alerts according to defined playbooks and procedures.
Implement least-privilege access policies and ensure compliance with identity and access management (IAM) standards. Detect and remediate any identity anomalies in cloud environments.
Implement automated tools to maintain a robust security postur

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
Excellent Azure Security, Microsoft CSPM, GCP skillset with hands-on experience. AWS experience is an asset. Hands-on experience with CSPM, CWP, CIEM, and CNAPP tools.
Certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer. Any of GIAC range of certs
Experience with PKI

Experience with infrastructure as code tools, such as Hashicorp Terraform.

Medium to advanced understanding of IOC’s, Cyber Kill Chain, MITRE ATT&CK and preventive and detective technical controls.

This important role will be tasked to develop, maintain, and support all information and data security solutions as well as Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Incident Response plans. Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the planning and design of enterprise security architecture
  • Participate in the design and implementation of secure cloud architectures, including identity and access management, encryption, network security, and data protection mechanisms
  • Participate in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits
  • Manage user engagement and awareness activities around cyber security within the organization
  • Manage response activities in the event of a security incident and / or security breach
  • Actively monitor various internal security platforms to detect and respond to security incidents
  • Identify and assess vulnerabilities in cloud infrastructure, applications, and data, and recommending or implementing appropriate security measures.
  • Monitor and analyze security events and incidents in cloud environments and respond promptly to mitigate risks and minimize potential damages.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations (e.g. SOCII,)
  • Develop and maintain documentation on security requirements and controls for protecting information, systems, and technology assets
  • Stay up to date with the latest security threats and trends

Skills & Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT with a minimum of 3 years in IT security
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or equivalent experience
  • CISSP or other relevant security related designations an asset
  • Experience with Security technologies (SIEM, PAM, EDR, NGFW, IPS, CASB, etc.) and ability to participate in the development of architectures related to these technologies
  • Experience with network access, identity and access management, spam filtering, email monitoring, and cloud security (e.g., Microsoft Azure), as well as involvement in security awareness programs.
  • Solid knowledge of endpoint security platforms, web filtering solutions, remote access technologies, application firewall functions, and business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
  • Excellent team player with strong communication skills in English and French. The requirement of another language is required for this position as the candidate will be required to interact and communicate with clients, suppliers and colleagues throughout North America.

Summary

An intrusion tester is part of the security testing team and performs various types of security tests for clients. Tests may include wireless assessment, web application test, internal network assessment, external network assessment, phishing exercises, red team assessment, physical security assessment, code review, mobile application assessment, embedded device assessment and other types of security tests.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Perform security test, in accordance to our methodology
  • Report the technical findings in a report. Tester may have to present the report to clients with varying level of technical knowledge. A good capacity to explain business impact as well as technical issues is a plus.
  • Act as an advisor to the client
  • Answers clients’ inquiries via phone or email in a professional and timely manner;
  • Stay up-to-date on information technology trends, security standards and IT security news.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent education/experience.
  • Knowledge of common pentesting methodologies (PTES, OSTMM), vulnerability scoring framework (CVSS, DREAD) and OWASP Top 10
  • OSCP is considered an asset
  • Should be eligible for Secret Clearance and not have any criminal records.
