The Data Quality Coordinator will be responsible for reviewing eCommerce product information. They will identify & correct errors in product data in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Key metrics for this role may include
consistently applying the rules established by GS1 Canada team and third-party provider to ensure data integrity goals are met, reaching defined data review targets and tracking daily tasks and activities.
Key Responsibilities
eCommerce Content Data Validation
- Responsible for the review, correction and approval of the eCommerce data attributes captured to ensure 100% accuracy and complete data is scraped.
- Maintain and apply established data quality rules, procedures and policies for eCommerce content, and where issues or ambiguity arise, determine and apply appropriate rule, policy or procedure and communicate to team to enable consistency.
- Maintain an understanding of AI and Machine learning technologies to ensure tool capabilities are fully exploited and optimal efficiency is attained.
- Provide recommendations for enhancements and amendments to address systemic and process inefficiencies.
Supporting Daily Data Quality Assurance
- Assist with daily reporting and assignment of daily workload.
- Assist with Incident Management activities and feedback to subscriber.
- Take part in project deployment activities as an eCommerce content subject matter expert, such as requirements gathering and/or user acceptance testing.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new coordinators and external team.
- Perform various other duties as delegated or assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bilingual (French/English) advanced proficient language skills are required in this role.
- Excellent written and orthography skills needed in both English & French.
- Proven high level of proficiency in MS Office is required (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Detail-oriented aptitude required.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, possessing a high level of problem solving, initiative and analytical abilities.
- A team player that engages in team collaboration efforts and supports colleagues to ensure quality and consistency are met and sustained.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and take responsibility for timely and accurate completion of tasks assigned.
- Self-starter, self-motivating with strong work ethic.
- College Diploma/Degree.
- 1-3 years related experience with initial and On-going training.

Key Responsibilities:
MDM Administration
- Administer and enhance the Semarchy xDM platform, including data modeling, match/merge rule configuration, survivorship logic, and workflow design
- Maintain and monitor the performance, integrity, and reliability of the MDM environment
- Lead MDM implementation activities across new domains and business units
- Collaborate with Data Engineering team to connect MDM with the ERP, CRM, and analytics platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve MDM issues; maintain platform documentation and metadata
- Provide input into MDM architecture, version upgrades, and environment planning
- Experience with other MDM tools such as Informatica MDM, Reltio, SAP MDG, or Oracle MDM is a strong asset
Data Governance
- Define and implement data governance policies, standards, and stewardship models
- Configure and manage our data catalog and governance tool (Secoda) to support metadata management, business glossary, and data lineage
- Support enterprise data quality initiatives by establishing monitoring and reporting frameworks
- Engage with business and technical stakeholders to assign data ownership and ensure accountability
- Provide training and support to data stewards and users across departments
- Promote data literacy, consistency, and transparency through stewardship enablement
- Familiarity with other data governance and catalog platforms such as Collibra, Alation, Atlan, or Microsoft Purview is preferred
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in MDM, data governance, or enterprise data management roles
- Hands-on experience with Semarchy xDM or similar MDM tools
- Experience administering or configuring Secoda or other modern governance platforms
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills
- Experience with ERP and CRM platforms, particularly in relation to master data
- Deep understanding of data quality, stewardship, metadata, and governance frameworks
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across both technical and business teams

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Data Governance Frameworks: Contribute to refining the priorities and scope of CI’s Data Governance program to align with business objectives. Shape processes, roles and CI’s use of technology to achieve these objectives.
- Metadata Management: Develop a process to manage metadata effectively, ensuring data and reporting concepts are well-documented and accessible across the organization. Curation of metadata will require Data Governance Lead to efficiently learn and understand asset management concepts, as this will be required to successfully engage with business stakeholders.
- Data Classification: Work with the Privacy Office and other stakeholders to refine CI’s Data Classification and Data Access Management Standards and Policies. Work with Data Engineering and Operations stakeholders to implement data access management rules based on the standards and policies you have worked to define.
- Data Policies and Standards: Work with business, IT teams and the Data Governance Council to define and enforce data policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Data Quality Management: Recommend and lead initiatives to monitor and improve data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with data owners, stewards, and business units to promote a data governance culture.
- Risk and Compliance: Ensure that data governance practices comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
- Data Stewardship: Oversee data stewardship activities, ensuring data custodianship roles are clearly defined and maintained.
- Data Governance Tools: This role may involve evaluating, selecting, and implementing data governance tools, technologies, and methodologies that enhance data management practices.
- Reporting and Metrics: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to measure data governance program performance, data quality, and compliance with governance policies.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- 5+ years of experience in data management, governance, or a related field.
- Proven experience contributing to data governance programs.
- Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, MS Purview, Informatica, Alation).
- Experience developing a Business Glossary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across teams and communicate complex data and reporting detail effectively.
- Experience with developing training materials and conducting sessions.
- Experience gathering and collaborating with different technical teams (e.g. Cloud, dba, developers, vendor support) to resolve data issues.
- Experience in the Financial Services Industry is an asset.
Education/Training
- Degree in information management, data science, computer science, or related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of industry data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM).
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of SQL.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations, compliance requirements and risk management.
- A strong analytical mindset with the ability to efficiently deconstruct and understand complex spreadsheets, complex SQL queries and complex multi-hop data lineage.
- Proficient with tools and technologies including Snowflake, Oracle, Python, Jira (Agile), Visio.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables.
- Business and technical requirements documentation skills.
- Experience with governing structured and unstructured data.
