About the Role


This role involves working closely with clients and engineering teams to translate complex financial workflows into clear requirements and user stories that drive production-ready products. It’s a chance to own impactful data products end-to-end, while collaborating with a highly technical team in an environment with minimal bureaucracy.


Responsibilities


  • Define, own, and manage the roadmap for external and internal data products (including monetizable platforms like DQ Hub).
  • Engage with clients in the alternative investments and institutional investor space to gather requirements, validate designs, and ensure product fit.
  • Translate business requirements (fund accounting, investor reporting, performance and risk analytics) into detailed product specifications such as user stories, data schema, and APIs.
  • Prioritize features, enhancements, and technical improvements, balancing client needs with long-term scalability.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Monitor product performance and feedback to drive ongoing improvement.
  • Define and track success metrics for data products (uptake, performance, client satisfaction).


Qualifications


  • 5–8+ years in product management or product ownership, particularly with data or analytics platforms.
  • Agile/iterative product development experience.
  • Strong technical literacy (data pipelines, schemas, APIs, cloud environments).
  • Experience with monetizable data products or platforms.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Direct experience and/or interest in financial services space, e.g. private equity, hedge funds, or pension funds.

Preferred Skills


  • Experience designing data monetization strategies, pricing models, or marketplaces.
  • Familiarity with compliance and reporting standards in alternative investments.
  • Experience with scalable cloud infrastructure.
  • UX/design sensibility.

At FortNine, the Product Data Manager is at the heart of our e-commerce. You’re an online pro, comfortable navigating and obtaining data all over the internet. As we continue growing, so do the number of items we have available; you’d play a pivotal role in setting up new products, maintaining product data to be used for our ecommerce platform, managing listings, optimizing product visibility, and analyzing data that will contribute to continuing our market dominance.

We’re looking for someone that is technologically comfortable, experienced in navigating multiple programs with speed and precision, and who has a measure of curiosity in learning more about the powersports space. No existing powersports knowledge required (although welcomed)! We’ll provide you with all the tools and resources necessary to your success, and in becoming a fully-fledged FortNiner! Major Responsibilities:

  • Selecting new products to be added to our website.
  • Preparing data feeds for new products being added to our website using information collected from various sources, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date product information for current products.
  • Organizing and enhancing product data to assist customers in understanding the difference between various products.
  • Resolving catalog/data issues, including missing or outdated information, erroneous images, among others.

Job Requirements:

  • Understanding of e-commerce shopping. You have your favorite online stores, and you know why you like them.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) required. You know what formulas and macros are, and possess a basic understanding of best practices!
  • Very strong computer and internet browser/data manipulation skills (ctrl-c and ctrl-v are in your muscle memory. Googling is an action verb.)
  • Must be based locally (Montreal, QC).
  • English: Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Bonus: Knowledge of SQL or any type of scripting, basic familiarity with CSS and HTML.
  • Bonus: Knowledge of the automotive, marine, cycling and/or powersports industry

Job Summary:

The Product Data Analyst – Tooling is responsible for assisting the Product Manager to manage a product line representing $130M+. This position is focused on creating efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives within the Cutting Tools Division, with a primary emphasis on improving documentation practices, maintaining accurate product specifications, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Job Summary:

The Product Data Analyst – Tooling is responsible for assisting the Product Manager to manage a product line representing $130M+. This position is focused on creating efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives within the Cutting Tools Division, with a primary emphasis on improving documentation practices, maintaining accurate product specifications, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Strong organizational skills are a must to centralize multiple systems of data for fulfilling business requests. The position will also contribute to the development of training materials to support our sales representatives and distribution partners as well as supporting product development. Responsibilities will evolve to align with business needs and the individual’s strengths and interests.
