We are seeking an experienced NoSQL Database Engineer specializing in Cassandra to support and enhance our enterprise-grade database infrastructure. You will be responsible for database design, performance tuning, incident management, and engineering robust solutions in collaboration with development and operations teams. This is a hands-on operational role with engineering responsibilities, including on-call support and project-driven implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Cassandra NoSQL databases.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability.
- Design and implement database schemas in collaboration with development teams.
- Perform regular backups and ensure data recoverability.
- Provide L3 support and participate in on-call rotations .
- Participate in patching, access control, and change management processes.
Must-Have Skills:
- 7+ years as a NoSQL DBA, with strong hands-on Cassandra experience.
- Deep understanding of NoSQL architecture , query optimization, and clustering.
- Experience with monitoring tools , performance tuning, and backup strategies.
- Strong scripting and troubleshooting abilities.
- Cassandra certification (DataStax) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Financial Services IT environments.
- Knowledge of IP networking , firewalls, and system integration.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Disaster recovery (DR) strategies

What You Will Be Doing
As the Senior Microsoft SQL Server DBA, you will:
Lead our migration from on-prem SQL Server to AWS RDS (SQL Server), including schema design, data transformation, performance tuning, and testing.
Establish and maintain best practices for database architecture, backup/restore, HA/DR, security, and compliance in AWS.
Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and performance metrics across production and staging environments.
Collaborate closely with our cloud management partner to scale bandwidth, orchestrate deployments, and audit configurations.
Own all aspects of database lifecycle management including schema changes, upgrades, and capacity planning.
Optimize queries and indexes to support scalable real-time transactions, analytics, and reporting.
Partner with development, product, and infrastructure leads to support application performance, data integrity, and developer velocity.
Design and manage access controls, auditing, and data governance policies.
Act as the internal go-to for all things SQL Server—including mentorship, technical guidance, and root cause analysis.
Contribute to our culture by mentoring, documenting best practices, and leading by example.
What We’re Looking For
MS SQL Server (on-prem and RDS): Expert-level knowledge.
Database migration strategy & execution: Advanced expertise.
Performance tuning & query optimization: Advanced skills.
Backup, restore, and HA/DR planning: Strong expertise.
Security, compliance, and access control: Solid familiarity.
Cloud experience (preferably AWS): Comfortable to Expert.
