This is a hands-on development-focused role (not a production DBA position), ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and brings deep technical expertise in MySQL , AWS , and MongoDB .

You'll work closely with developers and other DBAs to design, optimize, and support robust data solutions that power mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage MySQL Aurora databases in AWS .
• Optimize AWS RDS instances for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Support MongoDB implementation for high-performance workloads.
• Work with EKS (Kubernetes) to deploy and orchestrate database services.
• Collaborate with development teams to define efficient data models and queries.
• Manage database schemas and code using GitHub and Flyway .
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance using Datadog and AWS tools.
• Ensure data integrity, availability, and compliance with industry best practices.

Required Experience & Skills

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL .
• 3+ years working with AWS RDS / Aurora .
• 2+ years of MongoDB experience in production environments.
• 1+ year with EKS , GitHub , and Datadog .
• Proven track record as a Development DBA or Database Architect.
• Experience in database performance tuning and query optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud security principles and automation strategies.
• Solid understanding of the SDLC and agile development environments.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
• Background in data migration, disaster recovery, and multi-environment support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• CI/CD for database deployments.
• Exposure to container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with other AWS services such as Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM.
