Job Description

Job Description

Job Description

$4,000/month + bonuses. Path to $5,000/year. All sites within 90 mins to HRM.

Blamed when the drywall crew can't work because electricians are behind? Spending your day mediating trade disputes instead of building? Materials "lost" on site but somehow it's your fault? Walking clients through a site that looks like a disaster zone?

Different system. Different results.

We use integrated crews who work together, not against each other. Materials get organized by unit before trades arrive. You'll coordinate laborers to maintain professional standards, track real progress, and actually build instead of babysit.

THE DAILY REALITY:

6:30 AM: Your laborers arrive. You direct setup - materials staged by today's work areas, coffee brewing, breakfast ready. Site clean from yesterday. No scrambling.

7:30 AM: Crews arrive to organized sites. You've already verified materials, checked yesterday's progress, identified today's priorities. They get coffee and get to work.

8:00 AM - 3:00 PM: You're tracking progress in Project Management System (actual work completed, not stories). Laborers restocking materials as crews need them. You're solving small issues before they become delays. Coordinating next day's deliveries. Site stays clean all day.

3:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Directing cleanup, securing site, updating systems with real data, preparing tomorrow's plan. Communicating with PM about what's actually happening.

No trade referee duty. No crisis management. Just professional execution.

THE MONEY:

  • 4,000/month during contract phase
  • Performance bonuses for staying on schedule
  • Vehicle allowance for supply runs
  • Weekly pay, every Friday
  • Clear path to full-time with benefits

WHAT MAKES THIS WORK:

Integrated crews = no coordination battles
1-2 laborers under your direction = sites stay organized
PM schedules weeks ahead = real planning possible
Standard layouts = predictable material needs
One site focus = do it right, not rushed
Project Management system = track facts, not fiction

YOU'RE PERFECT IF YOU:

  • Have 3+ years running construction sites
  • Believe sites should be professional, not embarrassing
  • Can direct laborers effectively without being a jerk
  • Actually enjoy when systems work properly
  • Want to prove construction doesn't have to be chaos
  • Take pride in details others ignore

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Comfortable with daily digital reporting
  • Can manage 5-10 laborers + coordinate with crews
  • Vehicle for supply runs and errands
  • Available 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM Monday-Friday
  • Strong enough spine to maintain standards

NOT FOR YOU IF:

  • You think messy sites are "just construction"
  • Documentation feels like micromanagement
  • You prefer building to coordinating
  • "Good enough" is your standard

PROVE YOU GET IT - Answer in cover letter:

  1. Describe a site you've run - crews size, project type, duration
  2. How do you keep laborers productive all day?
  3. What systems or apps have you used for progress tracking?
  4. What would you do first to organize a messy site?

About Helio: Integrated crews, standard designs, professional sites. We're proving construction can be better. One site at a time.**
