- 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise banking or capital markets

The Global Capital Markets Advisory team specialises in the ISDA framework which underpins all of clients trading relationships here at Validus. This is a client-facing role, perfect for an entrepreneurial self-starter searching for front-office exposure with the ability to build strong relationships with both clients and our banking counterparties. About the Capital Markets Function at Validus:
The capital markets function at Validus was established two years ago, with the objective of developing a specialist front / middle / back office outsourced solutions for our client base of private capital managers, institutional investors and corporate clients.
This involves:
- Establishing trading infrastructure (trading lines, ISDA agreements) with investment banks and other counterparties;
- Executing derivative trades (as agent) on behalf of clients;
- Communicating and coordinating hedging activity with clients;
- Ensuring best execution across a variety of derivatives (FX, Interest Rates, Commodities, futures);
- Managing and developing strong relationships with clients and across our banking panel of > 50 banks around the world;
- Proactively working with clients and Validus colleagues to optimize hedging portfolios;
- Designing and presenting hedging solutions to internal and external clients;
As the Capital Markets function develops, we are keen to develop additional expertise within the team; specifically:
- A strong awareness and understanding of the macro environment and how this environment (or possible changes in this environment) might impact our client base. This also involves developing communications strategies to disseminate macro insights amongst our client base and to prospective clients and designing derivatives strategies which are optimized for current and / or potential future market developments. * Work with Product, Risk, and Legal teams to assess accounting implications of new products and ensure proper system setup.
* Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes using blockchain data and external tools.
* Conduct P&L and balance sheet analysis, support audits, and stay updated on regulatory requirements impacting digital asset services.
* Assist in preparing regulatory filings and disclosures for prime financing and capital markets.
* Manage and mentor accounting teams, foster cross-department collaboration, and lead projects related to financial infrastructure and new product launches.
*What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):** *
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* CPA designation required.
* 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 4-5 years specifically in *prime brokerage, capital markets, or complex financial instruments accounting* within a financial institution (e.g., investment bank, hedge fund, broker-dealer).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and apply accounting principles to novel crypto transactions.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex accounting issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* Experience with SOX compliance within a financial services context.
* Proficiency with large ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Google Suite skills.
*Nice to haves:*
* Experience with a crypto prime brokerage or institutional digital asset firm.
* Familiarity with specific crypto accounting software or blockchain analytics platforms.
* Experience with multi-currency accounting and foreign exchange impact on financial instruments.
* Proven, deep understanding and hands-on experience with digital assets, blockchain technology, and cryptocurrency markets. You should be familiar with various crypto protocols, DeFi concepts, and common digital asset use cases.
