**Qualifications**
What you will bring to the role:
- Currently enrolled in a postsecondary program
- You should be an outstanding bachelor's or mathematics student in engineering, computing, or mathematical sciences. Alternatively, you could be pursuing an MSc in a quantitative field. If your field of study differs, apply: we'd like to hear why you'll be a good fit regardless.
- Analytical skills - ability to quickly analyze data to identify and visualize key insights - as evidenced by coursework, projects, or research requiring the analysis of large datasets.
- Coursework in statistics. Applied statistics and probability are the focus of the position: if you can converse about regression models, and clustering approaches, you'll be fine.
- Prior exposure to a statistical or scientific programming environment is helpful. If you don't have it, you'll become familiar while you're with us. We have a bias for open source tech, and work with the Python scientific stack, R, PowerBI, and various data pipeline tools.

**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Lead, develop, support and facilitate synergies between high-performing Data Science and Data Engineering teams
+ Develop, align on, and deliver on long-range vision for data teams at Vail Resorts
+ Lead the architecture, development, and management of data-driven solutions across the company
+ Drive the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance data analytics capabilities
+ Represent functional data teams by managing and collaborating across cross-functional technology and data initiatives
+ Present data and technical output that enables stakeholders to make informed and data driven decisions
+ Drive and support a culture of technical progression through both performance and usability of developed solutions
+ Be inquisitive and have an eye for identifying areas where data solutions can deliver efficiency and increased sophistication
+ Implement best practices for data management, governance, and quality assurance

**Job Requirements:**
+ At least 10+ years of experience
+ Previous experience managing, engaging, and driving a high-performing Data Science and Data Engineering teams
+ Previous experience in commercial settings driving strong financial outcomes with data ) initiatives
+ Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Data Engineering or related field)
+ Demonstrated experience leading engineering and development of large scale data systems leveraging cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
+ Extensive development experience in at least one programming language (Python, Java, etc.); advanced fluency in SQL preferred
+ Project management skills, including the ability to scope, deliver and deploy intelligent data solutions
+ Comfortable working in a dynamic, high performing group with several ongoing concurrent projects
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills
+ Strong learning agility. Enjoys and excels in environments with new and increasingly complex strategic business challenges and issues-incorporating the newest ideas, technologies, and approaches to business
+ A bold, ambitious, and passionate leader while also demonstrating a high level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness
The expected Total Compensation for this role is 188,000 - 240,000 + annual bonus + equity. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Lyft's Data Science Team builds mathematical models underpinning the platform's core services. Compared to other technology companies of a similar size, the set of problems that we tackle is incredibly diverse. They cut across optimization, prediction, modeling, inference, transportation, and mapping. We're looking for Masters or PhD students who are passionate about solving mathematical problems with data and are excited about working in a fast-paced, innovative and collegial environment.
We are hiring for a variety of Data Science interns, focusing on the following specialties:
**Optimization:** Construct and fit statistical or optimization models that facilitate automated decision making in the app.
**Machine Learning:** Design, build, tune, and deploy machine learning models with a special emphasis on feature engineering and deployment.
**Inference:** Design and analyze tests in our dynamic marketplace, estimating statistical and ML models to enable better decisions, and developing and evaluating algorithmic policies in our pricing, dispatch, and incentives systems.
You will report into a Science Manager.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Partner with Engineers, Product Managers, and other cross-functional partners to frame problems, both mathematically and within the business context
+ Perform exploratory data analysis to gain a deeper understanding of the problem
+ Write production modeling code; collaborate with software engineers to implement algorithms in production
+ Design and run both simulated and live traffic experiments
+ Analyze experimental and observational data; communicate findings including working with partner teams and presentations; facilitate launch decisions
**Experience:**
+ **Currently pursuing a Masters or PhD degree at a university in Canada (required)** in mathematical sciences ( **Operations Research, Computer Science, Statistics** , Applied Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Behavioral Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.), Economics (Microeconomics Theory, Econometrics etc.), Data Engineering; or a related field; AND with **a graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027 (required)**
+ Available during **Summer 2026** for an internship in Toronto
+ Experience coding in **Python (required)** or SQL, R; standard data science libraries (NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras); and ML Tools & Libraries (NumPy, SpaCy, NLTK, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras)
+ Experimental design and analysis
+ Exploratory data analysis
+ Expertise in one of these specialties: optimization and mathematical modeling, machine learning fundamentals, or probabilistic and statistical modeling
+ Bonus points: Experience in marketplace design, ridesharing, studying two-sided marketplaces, and/or transportation
