As the In-Store Marketing Solutions Specialist, Inventory Management & Online Tools, you will play a critical role in supporting in-store grocery retail operations, ensuring store teams are equipped with the right signage tools to promote sales in a fast-paced retail environment.
You will be responsible for managing and coordinating the inventory of printed marketing signage assets across multiple store banners, while also overseeing the day-to-day operation and enhancement of Sobeys Print Services (SPS), our internal online signage ordering platform. This includes supporting the ongoing development and coordination of customizable signage templates, optimizing the user experience, and driving platform efficiency.
Through close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors, youu2019ll maintain accurate data, troubleshoot issues, support quote and invoice tracking, and ensure seamless signage fulfillment across our network. This role combines operational precision, cross-functional communication, and a customer-focused mindset to deliver signage solutions that are both efficient and impactful.

Sobeys Print Services (SPS):
Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of SPS, including asset updates, store profile management, and ongoing user experience and navigation improvements.
Work closely with the print supplier to troubleshoot challenges, resolve issues, and identify platform enhancements that support store efficiency.
Coordinate the setup and management of SKU-level signage data and categories for accurate online ordering.
Support the ongoing development and publication of customizable signage templates, working with Creative and Banner Marketing teams to ensure stores can generate compliant, localized signage for their needs.
Monitor usage patterns and order trends to ensure adequate stock and system reliability to support growing demand.
Field store feedback and support the resolution of SPS-related inquiries, improving the overall user experience for store teams.
Printed Finished Goods/Inventory
Manage the inventory portfolio of printed signage materials (~5,050 SKUs) across all banners (excluding Quebec), ensuring accuracy, availability, and alignment with marketing and operational priorities.
Serve as the day-to-day point of contact with the print vendor for inventory performance, material usage, forecasting accuracy, and ongoing reporting.
Oversee ongoing SKU lifecycle management, including:
Removal and destruction of outdated SKUs
Review and right-sizing of slow-moving inventory
Management of replenishment cycles and low watermarks
SKU audits: descriptions, pricing, gating, keywords, and units of measure
Ensure backorder health and maintain up-to-date tracking, reporting, and validation for replenishment and destruction activity.
Develop and maintain reporting dashboards on inventory health, usage, fulfillment trends, and warehouse value.
Collaborate with suppliers to forecast replenishment needs and identify opportunities to reduce SKU count and associated warehousing or handling costs.

Responsibilities:


On-Time Delivery

  • Raise demand on factories and act as the primary contact to collect commit dates and ensure on-time delivery of products
  • Address delays or issues proactively and work with internal and external stakeholders to minimize disruptions.
  • Confirm shipping schedules with suppliers weekly using open PO reports; flag and resolve concerns.
  • Follow urgent or high-priority orders closely with suppliers to expedite as needed.

Inventory and Logistics

  • Propose improvements to minimize inventory levels
  • Coordinate and confirm shipment bookings, tracking details, and documentation accuracy.
  • Discover cost-effective shipping modes and schedules.
  • Arrange local deliveries of samples and production when needed.

Liaison with Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers

  • Work with third-party brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners to ensure timely and compliant clearance of imported goods to US and Canada.
  • Prepare, review, and submit required documents (e.g., commercial invoices, packing lists, HS codes, certificates of origin, fumigation certificates, etc.)
  • Track shipments and ensure the accuracy of customs entry information.
  • Resolve any customs holds, inspections, or discrepancies.
  • Review and validate customs charges and brokerage fees.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings (e.g., tariff engineering, duty drawback programs).
  • Support claims or refunds for overpaid tariffs, duties or GST.

System & Data Accuracy

  • Maintain and accurately update PO records, job entries, and inventory receipts in ERP (Epicor).
  • Verify and enter supplier invoices accurately.
  • Support 3PL activities for finished goods inventory tracking.

Customer & Vendor Relationship Management

  • Develop strong working relationships with customers, key factories and suppliers.
  • Proactively communicate updates to vendors to maintain alignment.

Administrative Support

  • Support cross-functional communication between Canada and Asia offices.
  • Ensure all shipping-related documentation is accurate and timely.
  • Coordinate and respond to supplier questions about orders and logistics.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead or participate in projects that improve supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Track and report KPIs related to supplier performance and delivery.

About You


Our ideal candidatepossesses the following qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience working in logistics and/or supply chain.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Material Management, or Logistics.
  • Experience coordinating international shipments and working with freight forwarders.
  • Intermediate knowledge of customs procedures and shipping documentation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Completing monthly inventory reviews, investigating variances, and coordinating with warehouse teams to correct and reconcile counts

  • Maintaining accurate item (SKU) data in the ERP system

  • Generating and updating regular reports, including a weekly serial number report and inventory tracking reports

  • Supporting the broader supply chain team by cross-training in purchasing and logistics functions

  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that drive efficiency and data accuracy

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; College and/or University degree an asset

  • 1–3 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory, or data entry

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ERP experience preferred (Infor M3 is a bonus)

  • Bilingual is an asset

  • Comfortable managing large datasets with a high degree of accuracy

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively



Additional Information

Salary Range - $35,000 - $45,000
