Job Description
Lead the end-to-end experience design for the Health AI assistant, including conversation design, interaction patterns, and the surrounding product workflows.
Define cross-portfolio AI patterns for prompting, response presentation, citations, error/uncertainty handling, escalation paths, and trust/safety moments.
Establish responsible AI guidelines specific to Health: how we communicate confidence, limitations, and when users should seek professional care.
Partner with the Experience Architect to ensure conversational and agentic patterns are built directly into the platform design system - tokens, components, and behaviors that are agent-ready from day one.
Coordinate work across internal designers and external agency partners to maintain coherence across components, flows, and end-to-end experience design.
Work closely with AI/ML engineering and product to shape model behavior as a design material - tone, persona, response structure, and conversational repair strategies.
Build the evaluation practice for AI experience quality: usability testing for conversational interfaces, trust measurement, task success metrics, and a feedback loop into model and prompt iteration.
Engage ecommerce design leadership as governance partners to ensure AI patterns scale across portfolios rather than being reinvented in silos.
Develop the center-of-excellence foundations: documentation, design principles, reusable patterns, and education that enable teams across the org to adopt AI design effectively.
Represent AI experience design in cross-functional and leadership forums, advocating for user trust, safety, and responsible scaling as scope expands.
We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. - 8+ years in product design, with 1-2 years designing LLM-powered, conversational, or AI-driven experiences that shipped
- Demonstrated systems-level thinking: has created design patterns, guidelines, or playbooks adopted beyond their immediate team
- Strong grasp of how LLMs behave as a design material - prompting, hallucination and uncertainty, grounding and citations, latency, and streaming responses
- Experience leading through influence: coordinating agencies, internal designers, and cross-functional partners without direct authority
- Excellent written communication; able to codify practice into documentation others actually use
- Experience in Health, regulated industries, or other high-trust domains strongly preferred
- Comfort with ambiguity as this role defines its own discipline as it builds it
Lead the end-to-end experience design for the Health AI assistant, including conversation design, interaction patterns, and the surrounding product workflows.
