The primary location for this position is: Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital
The duration of this temporary contract would be until approximately October 2026 , or sooner, as determined by RRHS
Qualifications:
- Current registration and Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario is required.
- Current BLS is required.
- Current Hemodialysis experience is considered an asset.
- ICCU or Emergency experience considered an asset.
- Minimum one (1) year recent medical/surgical experience is preferred.
- Nephrology experience and /or completion of the Nephrology certificate preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to function as an independent primary nurse.
- Demonstrated good computer skills.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, communication and teaching skills.

Dialysis & Renal Care features 32 beds to support complex care patients (including tracheotomy, complex wounds, gastrostomy, colostomy, behaviors and more). This unit also provides hemodialysis pre and post care.
This is a highly collaborative, supporting and welcoming environment. Nurses work closely patients and family caregivers to create a care plan tailored to each patient’s needs and goals. In this specialization there’s increased opportunity to become familiar with a patient and their specific routines and how they want care delivered.

Nursing Scope of Practice Statement:

- The Registered Practical Nurse has the knowledge, skills and judgement needed to provide competent, evidence-based nursing practice to selected patients, conformed to the complexity and predictability of their health condition.
- The Registered Practical Nurse shall be responsible for meeting the standards and exercising judgement for providing safe, competent and ethical nursing care as outlined in the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Nursing Practice and Guidelines for Ethical Behaviour.
- The Registered Practical Nurse creates and strengthens an environment conducive to professional and personal growth.
- The Registered Practical Nurse provides nursing care in collaboration with the patient, significant others and interprofessional team.
Registered Practical Nurses can be assigned patients with complexity of care needs that are well defined and established, who have predictable outcomes and manageable responses.

Education & Qualifications:
- A diploma from a CNO-approved nursing program
- Registered Practical Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- If graduated prior to 1995, must have medication administration certificate from an approved community college or equivalent course
- Previous geriatric experience and or training required (i.e. PIECES program, Gentle Persuasive Approach)
- Previous medical and/or surgical clinical experience preferred Physical assessment course required

We offer a positive, co-operative environment where teamwork is key. Unlike other dental offices, we are not open evenings or weekends which allows for a more balanced work life.
