-Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office,

ABOUT WILLIAMS LAKE FIRST NATION (WLFN)
The Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN), or the Texelcemc (people of WLFN) have belonged to the Secwepemc (or Shuswap) Nation for over 6500 years. Today, the WLFN community includes a growing population of over 800 registered members who live on reserve in Sugar Cane, in nearby Williams Lake, BC, and across the globe.

POSITION
The Elders Health and Wellness Liaison (Navigator) will be responsible for providing in-home support, social care, and wellness-focused services to Elders living in community. The Elders Wellness Liaison (Navigator) will work in collaboration with Elders, families, healthcare professionals (including dieticians, physiotherapists, mental health professionals), and community partners to ensure holistic care and quality of life for Elders living at home. The Elders Health and Wellness Navigator will report to the Interim Director of Health and Wellness.
Employment Type

Education Required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Offer social support and culturally safe companionship to reduce isolation and enhance well-being.
- Conduct or assist with basic mobility and safety assessments, support fall prevention strategies.
- Work collaboratively with health professionals and caregivers to monitor and report changes in Elders health or behavior.
- Advocate for culturally appropriate and trauma-informed care for Indigenous clients.
- Document visits, observations, and progress in accordance with organizational policies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and respect for Elders privacy and autonomy.
- Maintain open communications with the WLFN team.
- Provide support to Health and Wellness Department team members for wellness initiatives, community-based events, community programming, and member support as needed.

Education/Experience:
- An earned terminal doctoral degree Psychology from an accredited university or a related discipline is preferred.
- At least one to two (1-2) years’ experience in university/college level teaching preferred.
