Job Description

The Director of Procurement and Transportation is responsible for the operational management of purchasing, procurement, and transportation activities for all components, raw materials, and finished products related to camera manufacturing. He/she ensures optimal resource availability while controlling costs, deadlines, and quality, in accordance with the company's technical and commercial requirements.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGES:

Procurement:

  • Define and lead the procurement of electronic, optical, mechanical components, etc.
  • Select, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, ensuring quality, reliability, and competitiveness.
  • Supervise order management, inventory, and purchasing forecasts in conjunction with production.
  • Monitor supplier markets (prices, innovation, availability).

Transportation:

  • Organize and optimize incoming logistics flows (procurement).
  • Coordinate domestic and international transportation, including customs formalities and export/import regulations.
  • Establish performance indicators (KPIs) to measure transport efficiency, service rates, etc.
  • Manage relationships with transport providers.

Team management and continuous improvement:

  • Supervise and lead a multidisciplinary team (buyers, transport coordinators).
  • Implement a continuous improvement process: cost reduction, optimization of deadlines, digitization of processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects (new product launches, opening of new markets, quality certifications).
Qualifications

Who we need:

Reporting to the Director of Procurement, we are hiring a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our Procurement team. You will be responsible for sourcing ingredients including dairy, gums, flavors, additives, oil, colors and packaging materials for our Brampton, Ontario and Lebanon, Indiana manufacturing facilities. You will lead vendor negotiations, contract management, identify cost-saving opportunities, and mitigate risk through alternate sourcing strategies. This is a full-time, hybrid role, working onsite 2-3 days per week, including every Wednesday at our Brampton, Ontario plant.

  • The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for supporting the sourcing strategy for a given commodity by managing supplier relationships, supplier restructuring and work transitions. They will be leading RFQ packages, source selection and contract negotiations using an established gated process and in collaboration with the contracts teams, as well as supporting the procurement teams on commercial decision making and leading various cost reduction initiatives. The candidate will be responsible to define and manage the overall strategy (cost, quality, and delivery performance) of owned commodities and suppliers, including the identification and execution of long-term projects to achieve sustainable performance results
  • Analyze value stream spend data and evaluate margin expansion and value creation.
  • Execute a commodity strategy that limits exposure to risk and liability through strategic planning.
  • Understands and evaluates the impacts of both strategic and tactical decisions on the long-term strategy of the supply base
  • Oversee and manage contract performance
  • Develop strong partnerships with assigned suppliers and take proactive measures to work with other P&WC groups to manage/reduce the total cost.
  • Identify cost reduction and improvement projects and manages these projects
  • Execute supplier relationship management strategy for a portfolio of suppliers assigned
