Position Overview:


We are seeking a strategic and member-focused Director of Product Management to lead the evolution of Pocketpills product portfolio. In this role, youll work with the leadership to define and drive the product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and member needs. You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, health care experts, operations, and marketing to deliver scalable and user-centric solutions. This role requires strong leadership, a passion for innovation, and a track record of delivering high-impact consumer products. You will also mentor a team of product managers and foster a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:


Product Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and drive a clear, pragmatic product strategy aligned with company goals in a fast-moving technology startup.
  • Prioritize high-impact initiatives that balance short-term wins with long-term scalability and growth.
  • Adapt quickly to market feedback and evolving business needs with flexible planning.

Own Product Vision and Strategy

  • Define and communicate product vision aligned with company objectives.

Drive Product Lifecycle Execution

Establish and Manage OKRs

  • Define clear Goals / Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for product teams.
  • Track progress, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement through data.
  • Hold teams accountable for outcomes and learnings, not just delivery.

People Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of Product Managers.
  • Build strong communication and alignment practices across remote, cross-functional teams.
  • Manage product teams across multiple time zones and geographies.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing and mentoring product teams.
  • Proven success leading member-facing products, preferably in technology startups, SMEs, or medium-sized companies.
  • The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building and scaling consumer-facing technology products in startup or high-growth environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute product strategy in fast-paced, resource-constrained environments.
  • Strong data literacy with experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to drive product decisions and business forecasts.
  • Expertise in agile methodologies and lean product development practices.

The base salary range for this position is 156,000 - 237,000 CAD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.

The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.

Role Overview:
The Director, Product Manager will assist in the development and delivery of cybersecurity products tailored to SMB and government markets. You will help manage the product lifecycle, support go-to-market execution and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders-including channel and alliance partners-to support revenue and adoption goals.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the execution of product strategy and roadmaps for SMB and government cybersecurity offerings.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor insights across target segments.
• Gather and analyze feedback from users, partners, and internal stakeholders to inform product development.
• Assist in drafting and managing product requirements, user stories, and testing criteria.
• Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure successful feature delivery and adoption.
• Track product KPIs and prepare performance reports to inform iterative improvements.
• Contribute to go-to-market planning and execution, including training, documentation, and sales enablement.
• Support efforts with channel and alliance partners to drive adoption, maximize reach, and contribute to revenue targets.
• Maintain awareness of cybersecurity trends, compliance frameworks, and user pain points in both SMB and government sectors.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Experience in product management, business analysis, or a related role in tech or cybersecurity, preferably in the SMB or Government segments.
• Experience working with or supporting channel and alliance partners in achieving business outcomes.
• Strong interest or foundational knowledge in cybersecurity technologies and services.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

As the Director, Product Marketing , you will be the product and quantum services expert on the marketing team. This role focuses on defining product positioning, crafting compelling messaging and content, competitive and industry analysis, driving market awareness and adoption, and enabling business development and sales teams. You have the rare ability to see the “big picture” and understand technical details at the same time. Your ability to understand and translate technical capabilities into value to potential early adopters for quantum computing services is crucial.  You will work with the marketing team to design and deliver marketing programs for Photonic’s quantum offerings. You are the prime marketing interface into both product management, and the engineering teams. You are comfortable working in a small marketing team handling a variety of responsibilities, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams of marketers, scientists, engineers, and product experts. You are equally comfortable driving strategy as you are “rolling up your sleeves” to execute on daily responsibilities.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO

Content Development  

  • Develop product and quantum services content, including datasheets, whitepapers, case studies, detailed personas, value propositions and ROI, presentations, customer success stories, web content, blogs, videos, and other tools 
  • Partner with the communications team on campaigns, blogs, and other promotional content.  

Market and Competitive Analysis  

  • Conduct market research to understand the quantum market, customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape. 
  • Provide timely recommendations, market analysis, and updates on competitors 
  • Provide actionable insights to influence product roadmap and strategy 
  • Continuously evaluate the competitive landscape to maintain and enhance product differentiation and adjust messaging accordingly. 

Go-to-Market Strategy  

  • Collaborate with product management, marketing, sales, and engineering teams to align on product goals and market positioning. 
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new product and service launches and updates.  

Product Positioning and Messaging  

  • Craft compelling, differentiated product positioning and messaging that resonates with target audiences. 
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all stakeholder touchpoints 
  • Work with the marketing team at building relationships with key influencers (industry analysts, media, bloggers) to gain coverage that builds Photonic reputation with target audiences 

Sales Enablement  

  • Develop sales enablement materials, including sales decks, product demos, and training content. 
  • Train and equip sales teams with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively position and sell Photonic products. 

Customer Advocacy  

  • Support onboarding and training for early customers.  
  • Identify ongoing opportunities to enhance the customer experience. 
  • Build and nurture customer relationships to generate testimonials, case studies, and references. 
  • Act as a voice of the customer within the organization. 

WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM
  • Specific industry experience in HPC or previous quantum experience. 
  • 10+ years of experience working in a product marketing or product management role for highly complex and early-stage technology products. 
  • MBA or equivalent experience, ideally in combination with a background in engineering, physics or computing. 
  • Demonstrated track record of successful execution of product marketing assets – competitive analysis, positioning, messaging, use cases, and detailed product literature. 
  • Strong understanding of the quantum ecosystem competitive landscape. 
  • Proven ability to develop expertise in nascent market sectors and related applications. 
  • Self-starter and able to work independently and lead cross functional teams. 
  • Ability to communicate and translate complex technical issues for business users, investors, and other key stakeholders.

The Director - Product Marketing is responsible for owning messaging, driving go-to-market (GTM) product launches, and the development of content that engages prospective buyers, supports customer growth, and enables sales conversion.  This role is highly cross-functional, partnering closely with teams across Appcast—including Product, Sales, Strategy, and Customer Success—to ensure our solutions are clearly and effectively positioned in the market.   

Success in this role requires a strong blend of strategic insight, cross-functional leadership, and hands-on development of sales collateral. As a senior member of the marketing team reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, you will play a critical role in shaping how we communicate value to our buyers and enabling our teams to win in a competitive marketplace. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic partnerships with Product, Strategy, Sales, articulate go-to-market messaging that supports product launches/updates, evolving business needs, and continued growth. Translate those messages into high-quality, market-facing materials (e.g., sales collateral) with strong value messaging and storytelling; oversee the completion of additional sales materials including external one pagers and internal training materials 
  • Oversee and direct the completion of case studies and testimonials, ensuring they effectively convey how Appcast delivers customer bliss through optimal performance. 
  • Lead the creation and ongoing updates of buyer personas and competitor matrices, collaborating with Strategy and Sales Enablement teams to ensure effective rollout and adoption. 
  • As a senior leader in both product marketing and the marketing team more broadly, you will mentor and support the growth and development of staff across the marketing team, particularly in the areas of customer voice, product knowledge, and messaging alignment.  
  • Own collateral development - Develop market-facing materials (e.g., PowerPoint decks) with strong value messaging and storytelling; create sales materials including external one pagers and internal enablement & training materials.  
  • Lead collateral asset lifecycle management – across all forms of content, manage repositories of materials (Content Library, Mindtickle & Sharepoint) and sunset content when required. 
  • Drive strategic collaboration with internal stakeholders in Product, Platform, Strategy and Sales to build deep product knowledge and leverage in marketing strategies and campaigns.  
  • Manage relationships with internal and external design resources as well as subject matter experts. 
  • Assess the effectiveness of the product marketing programs, tools (G2), and technology (eg. Mindtickle) that support Appcast’s GTM efforts on an ongoing basis. 
  • Develop and maintain a deep, thorough understanding of our customers’ needs and challenges; play a key role in shaping and continuously refining detailed buyer personas; apply data-driven insights to guide strategic marketing decisions.
