JOB SUMMARY & SCOPE

Responsible for building long-term strategic relationships with key customer decision makers, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners, ISV partners, and other regional business partners to ensure Peak delivers comprehensive business solutions. Manage and exceed sales and margin targets as well as budget expectations. Prospect for new business and gain new customers by positioning Peak's products and end-to-end solution offerings by conducting face-to-face presentations, sales meetings, and negotiating complex sales.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for achieving established annual targets or objectives.
  • Develop and execute effective sales programs that will retain and grow a current business portfolio and attract additional accounts.
  • Forecasts long-term product sales, inventory levels and product requirements, and communicates related information to management on a regular basis.
  • Ensure long-term customer retention and relationships by sourcing and developing existing customers, as well as new leads.
  • Establish and maintain long-term strategic business relationships at all levels.
  • Responsible for a defined territory and/or primarily (but not exclusively) Level 2 and Level 3 (SMB level) accounts through relationships with ISVs, OEMs as well as new customer acquisition and dealing.
  • Perform significant solution-based business-to-business phone sales and face-to-face outside sales with customers.
  • Coordinate, develop and facilitate presentations and meetings to market One Peak offerings.
  • Use information about existing customers and new leads to develop and increase sales of Peak products and services. This should be accomplished by using Peak's contact management database and nurturing new leads.
  • Work individually and as part of a team to meet/exceed individual and/or team sales goals.
  • Track sales transactions until closing and obtaining approval of final sales contracts.
  • Develop open and ongoing communication to ensure opportunities are not missed and issues are addressed and resolved quickly.
  • Develop and maintain OEM and ISV relationships in a territory to remain the single point of contact for the OEM sales representative(s) per territory.
  • Ensure that products/services are delivered on time.
  • Monitor inventory levels to avoid product shortages.
  • Engage customers in future projects and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Resolve all customer inquiries, complaints, and issues.
  • Must achieve favorable customer satisfaction outcomes.
  • Responsible for maintaining effective working relationships, communication and coordination with all colleagues and management.
  • Obtaining a valid driver's license and having access to a vehicle is required to travel to customer sites and home offices.

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE + KEY TRAITS:

  • 2- or 4-year college diploma in business, marketing, or related experience (experience in direct sales and account management may replace educational preferences).
  • Have a strong background in customer service or sales/account management in the sale of services or products.
  • Previous experience in selling a technology product to an IT and/or industrial or supply chain operational customer segment, preferred.
  • Experience in the AIDC industry highly appreciated.
  • Previous face-to-face sales experience, preferably with current or potential customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain and manage long-term client relationships and proven ability to negotiate contracts with clients.
  • Knowledge of external sales strategies and techniques is appreciated.
  • Experience working in ERP and CRM applications.
  • Ability to pitch to regional partners to help drive business solutions.
  • Problem solver, assertive team player, results-oriented, cares about others and has the ability to network and be creative.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Director, Sales & Business Development to lead Drexel’s sales strategy and accelerate growth across national and regional retail accounts throughout Canada and the US.

Working remotely from a home office in the Greater Toronto Area, this role is responsible for sales funnel development, growing opportunities in National Retail, Carrier, and Regional Retail and Dealer accounts.  You will oversee a small team of focused National Account Managers (NAMs).  A hunter mentality and drive is a must for this role.    

What You’ll Do

  • Lead sales and business development efforts to expand Drexel’s product assortment opportunities within national retail and carrier locations in both Canada and the US. 
  • Drive penetration of brands and SKUs within targeted retail partners.
  • Build and enhance relationships with vendors in conjunction with the Vice President of Product.
  • Oversee, coach and motivate the Sales Team to achieve sales, margin, and funnel targets.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product & Operations Team to align on pricing, inventory, and go-to-market strategies.  Approve pricing, promotional calendars, and support programs on a customer by customer basis. 
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline to support sustained revenue and margin growth.
  • Report on key metrics, including sales performance, funnel activity , and gross profit achievement and growth.
  • Oversee Inventory Control alongside the CFO, Director of Operations, and Manager Purchasing & Procurement.

Overview

Reporting to the Vice President of National Advisor Sales, the Associate Director of Salesis responsible for completing all assigned inside sales responsibilities, directly working with an assigned Wholesaler to support wholesale related sales activities and dealer relations for Centurion Asset Management Inc.


TheAssociate Director of Salesis accountable for the management of wholesale sales-related resources for Centurion Asset Management Inc., ensuring that sales of Units to qualified investors are effectively and efficiently administered according to established standards and within established budgets.


Responsibilities


Relationship Development

Develop and foster positive relationships with Investment Advisors, Dealers, Head Offices and key stakeholders to expand product distribution throughout the assigned wholesale channel. Provide contact follow-up for wholesale sales events.


Dealer and Advisor Relations

Support the Wholesaler in the management of their existing Dealer and Advisor base, by professionally handling inquiries and requests to ensure that a high level of client satisfaction is achieved though consistent attention to Centurion's Vision, Mission and Values.


Lead Generation

Generate new leads through proactive calls and emails to prospective Dealers, providing interested parties with information and materials as requested. Secure and organize seminars, meetings, presentations and conference calls for the assigned Wholesaler.


Ongoing Operations

Respond to inquiries and requests or redirect calls as needed. Manage the assigned wholesale territory contacts and marketing materials databases and provide Advisors and Brokers with current marketing materials as required. Organize and update Advisor and Dealer company records. Maintain and update the CRM system. Prepare for, and assist as required at, trade shows, presentations, meetings and other events. Provide contact follow-up for all events. Assist with the calendar management of Wholesalers, coordinating meetings and organizing travel arrangements as required. Draft and distribute information emails/newsletters to Agents and Dealer companies.


Industry and Product Knowledge

Gather industry knowledge, observing the development of industry competitors and maintaining a constant awareness of the competitive environment for similar products. Review the performance of competitors and report on key issues as necessary to the Executive Vice President of Investment Sales.


Compliance

Adhere to compliance procedures and regulatory requirements at all times, ensuring that materials are reviewed and approved by the Chief Compliance Officer prior to distribution to external parties. Complete other duties as assigned.


Requirements


  • A passion for excellence in sales performance and client services;

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business or related field;

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in sales, sales support, or client service;

  • Experience in the securities and/or real estate industries is considered an asset;

  • Fluently bilingual both written and spoken in English and French is considered an asset;

  • Self-starter; highly motivated and able to take the initiative required to achieve set goals and objectives;

  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas effectively to both individuals and groups;

  • Excellent follow-up skills with the ability to effectively resolve problems in a timely manner using relevant information, sound reasoning and common sense;

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and a strong ability to multi-task;

Responsibilities:
+ Learn about LinkedIn's platform, products and associated tools (e.g. SFDC)
+ Effectively communicate the LinkedIn Sales Solutions value proposition and elevator pitch to inspire your clients to embrace a new method of connecting value to customers
+ Make discovery calls and confirm meetings with key decision makers that will generate revenue
+ Create a pipeline of reasonable opportunities and reliable forecasts in a transparent manner
+ Develop and execute strategic plans for the territory that will evolve and improve our sales process
