Join our Distribution Planning team, where you'll play a pivotal role in upgrading, maintaining, and automating power distribution systems. Responsibilities:

As a Distribution Planning Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of upgrading, expanding, improving, maintaining, and automating power distribution systems. You'll perform essential protection and coordination studies, identify and solve issues involving substations and multiple feeders, and conduct scenario-based planning studies to recommend effective solutions. Developing medium- and long-range distribution plans focusing on load relief, capacity, and reliability will be a key part of your role. You'll create and maintain computer models and their underlying databases for electric distribution systems, and conduct load forecasts, including DER, energy storage, and emerging electrification-related loads. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams, such as transmission, substation, and distribution design teams as well as the SCADA Automation team, to ensure seamless integration and efficiency. Lastly, you'll work independently while also coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in electric utility planning
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following: CYME, Synergi, or ASPEN Power Flow.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% as required to support clients and projects.
  • FE/EIT required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PE preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of software automation and scripting.
  • Experience creating protective device settings files.
  • Understanding of 8760 simulations in LoadSEER or a similar software.
  • Experience with grid modernization challenges including FLISR, DER, system impact studies, energy storage, electrification, protection & control, sectionalizing and wildfire mitigation studies.

About the role

As an Inventory Control Clerk at RBR, you will play a crucial role in supporting our supply chain management and operations teams. You will be responsible for monitoring, tracking, and transacting inventory items, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. The position will see you working on call so flexible availability would be advantageous. 

Payrate $24 per hour

Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that Inventory Control operates in an effective manner and provides excellent service and support to the client.
  • Follow APD, department and Commissionaires’ policy. 
  • Issuing and tracking location of equipment through use of Equipment Tracker. 
  • Ensuring all equipment is charged and operational and arranging for repair and maintenance of equipment as necessary. 
  • Tracking and maintaining uniform and duty gear items
  • Arranging shipping of courier packages for department and receiving courier packages
  • Prepare orders for supplies. 
  • Loading new Patrol Vehicles with proper equipment and supplies and ensuring vehicles are set up with cell phones, radios and MDTs before issuing. 
  • Assisting Forensic Identification (FIS) staff, as needed, to identify assignment history of cameras, voice recorders and memory cards. 
  • Liaising with cell phone supplier re: cell phone problems. 
  • Liaising with Firearms Officer and Training Officer re: planning for equipment needs during training and for repairs of weapons. 
  • Completing other tasks as requested by members and staff of APD. 

Your Must-Haves:

  • Basic First Aid/Occupational First Aid Level 1 (or willing to obtain)
  • Ability to clear a Criminal Background Check
  • Minimum 5 years residence in Canada
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in serving the public
  • Professional standard of conduct, dress and deportment
  • Ability to use computers and various reporting systems
  • Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Fluent English written, verbal and reading skills
