**General Description:**
The Assistant District Manager (ADM) works with the District Manager (DM) to manage operations, sales, and analyze data and processes in addition to supporting the company's efforts with our values and culture. The ADM will work collaboratively with all department heads to ensure that objectives, action plan management and financial results are achieved. This is a hands-on position with employees, and integration with our company culture is vital to success in this role.
As an Assistant District Manager with us, the minimum responsibilities are:
+ Approve, monitor and develop safety programs and incentives to ensure teams are focused on our number one value every day, every time and every place.
+ Actively monitor local market conditions and competitive pricing to identify growth opportunities. Collaborate with the Sales Manager to implement territory planning, productivity measures, and customer acquisition strategies.
+ Participate in the sale of large volume service agreements, develop tenders and manage the day-to-day relationship with the Sales Manager.
+ Assist the Operations Manager and Sales Manager with container management and compactor sales.
+ Ensure the ongoing proper administration of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and participate in negotiations.
+ In collaboration with the DM and Controller, assist in the monthly forecasting and annual budget process.
+ Build relationships and liaises with key partners in city government in one or more designated locations, e.g. Mayor, Waste Division (may appear before City Council)
+ Understand the territory, deal with emerging issues and address environmental and waste concerns
+ Be present at all company events as a front-line executive.
**What We Need From You:**
+ Minimum of 5-8 years' experience in an operations and/or sales management position.
+ Post-secondary degree, preferably in business or commerce, or equivalent in experience.
+ Excellent planning, strategic and analytical skills, financial literacy essential.
+ Highly developed leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
+ Exceptional sales and negotiation skills, with a strategic and entrepreneurial mindset.
+ Demonstrate a proven track record of achieving business plan objectives.
+ Possession of a commercial driver's license is an asset (Class 3, 2 or 1).
+ Knowledge of the transportation or waste management industry is an asset.
+ Primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
+ Light physical effort; may require periodic walking during the day.
+ Flexible hours, with some early starts (e.g., 4:00 am).

What You'll Do:

  • Provide strategic direction and lead Store Management teams to achieve financial targets, including budget/P&L management, sales growth, merchandising, operational standards, expense control, and shrink reduction.
  • Oversee District financial budgets, including P&L, payroll, and efficiency, and develop strategies to improve key performance indicators and programs in partnership with Regional and Store Operations teams.
  • Implement customer experience strategies to improve both internal and external customer experiences with Store Management teams.
  • Identify and communicate trends, issues, and opportunities related to new store openings, renovations, relocations, and COPP initiatives, ensuring effective communication between impacted business groups.
  • Organize and oversee Store Management teams, providing direction, feedback, coaching, and training to foster growth and best practices.
  • Responsible for overseeing the operations of approximately 8 to 13 stores, accountable for sales plans between $50M to $75M
  • Directly supervises between 8 to 13 Store Managers; indirectly oversees 30+ Assistant Store Managers and 400 + Store Associates.

About You:

  • Minimum high school education, post-secondary education in Business Management or related preferred.
  • Five years of dynamic management experience in retail, preferably off-price, with expertise in operations, customer service, merchandising, people management, health and safety, and loss prevention.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle; willing to travel to stores within the designated district.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including interviewing, negotiating, listening, conflict management, information gathering, and mentor; ability to influence business partners and build rapport and credibility as a trusted advisor.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to act as a collaborative partner with senior management, positively influencing management and staff to act in the best interest of the company.

**DESCRIPTION**
The purpose of the ACOSTA Data Collection Retail District Manager is to manage a team with on time delivery of high quality data. This is achieved by managing a remote group of qualified Team Leaders and Data Collectors on each aspect of their position.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Delivery**
+ DM will ensure on time delivery of stores, surveys and projects.
+ Route optimization
+ Consistently make sure routes assigned are efficient
+ Open req's as necessary for best delivery of all projects
+ Assign new projects to Data Collectors for optimal delivery
+ Cost management of uncovered stores (NRR).
+ Work with Region Operation Manager to determine cost associated with remote uncovered stores and possible solutions
**Quality**
+ DM will utilize available reports to manage project quality issues.
+ Manage Team Leaders in all new projects to conduct training and coaching.
+ Ensure all Team Leads and Data Collectors are trained in all projects before execution begins
**Efficiency/Scan rates**
+ District manager will monitor the scan rate report monthly and continue to drive scan rates up.
+ Work with Team Leader's to ensure they understand scan rates and how to assist with increasing in Team Leaders sub territory.
+ Advising Data Collectors how scan rates affect them and how to improve performance.
**Field Management**
+ One on one validations of Team Leader's to ensure quality
+ Manage Training time (both new hire and refresher)
+ Manage client validations (both routine and mandatory)
+ Communication for all field staff within territory
+ New Project's
+ Every Data Collector must be contacted or visited at least once for every new project
+ Ensure all Data Collectors fully understand the project.
+ All initial new hire communication
+ Job responsibilities
+ Training plan/expectation
+ Assignment
+ Follow up communications (i.e. how is training going, any questions, NI questions, Field support, etc)
+ DCA counseling:
+ Work with ROM and/or HR on all counseling issues.
+ Deliver disciplinary actions in a timely manner
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Minimum Education Requirements:
+ Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience required.
Experience Requirements:
+ Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience is preferred, demonstrating leadership in remote team management
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in Field Intelligence Collections or retail merchandising experience, preferably within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies.
+ The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency to meet our demanding delivery timelines. Ensuring adequate coverage is essential to achieving our operational goals and maintaining quality execution.
+ Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a car for an extended period of time.
+ Must be available for overnight travel.
+ Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Advanced computer skills including Word and Excel and other workplace communication tools
+ This role requires flexibility beyond a standard Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule. Team support and operational needs may arise outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends. The successful candidate must be available to assist team members as needed to ensure seamless execution and support across all timeframes

**Your Impact**
+ Responsible for building and developing a team of quota carrying and lead generation sales professionals
+ Own and drive revenue outcomes within the assigned region, territories, and/or district, exceeding personal and team sales quotas and goals
+ Review weekly forecast and business outcomes with representatives and sales leaders
+ Coach, develop, and mentor representatives to success in all aspects of the sales cycle: lead generation, qualification, forecasting, and closing opportunities, while using our channel/partner network
+ Build sales analysis for insight into weekly, monthly and quarterly execution and strategies
+ Attend weekly regional forecast and management calls to provide Inside Sales perspective

**Your Experience**
+ Sales experience and management experience: preferably experience handling both quotas carrying and lead generation inside sales teams focused on the Canada Enterprise market
+ Enterprise sales experience required: networking or network security industries strongly preferred
+ Experience with channel and partner sales models
+ Consistently achieved sales goals through your leadership and personal goals
+ Able to learn new technology quickly, as well as adapt to changing needs

25% New Representative Development: Work in collaboration with representative; Offer education and coaching/mentoring; Offer assistance in creating agent sales plan. Implement agent recruiting and on-listing process
15% Major Account Development: Identify target accounts.; Build relationships with major accounts; Coordinate efforts with Regional Sales Managers, Sales Representatives and Strategic Accounts Department.; Accountability for goal setting and reporting
10% Administration and Planning: Creating district communications; Forecasting and goal setting; Reporting; Rewarding and honoring achievers; Enforcing policy
10% Sales: Administer transition accounts process; Call on transition accounts, and process orders and solve problems, as appropriate
