Description du poste

Le ou la spcialiste, quit, diversit et inclusion (EDI) et Culture aide la ralisation dun large ventail dinitiatives en matire dEDI et culture et des plans stratgiques organisationnels et dpartementaux. Relevant de la directrice, EDIC, travaillant de prs avec la vice-prsidente, EDIC, la personne retenue favorisera la collaboration en coordonnant les efforts de plusieurs services cls pour sassurer que les projets transversaux dcrits dans le PAII sont mens bien. Elle participera la rdaction de contenus de communication pour de multiples publics en vue dencourager un engagement positif et une gestion du changement durable lchelle de lorganisation. Ce rle est temporaire temps plein et le contrat prendra fin le 31mars 2027.



Responsabilits

  • Soutenir le bureau dEDIC et les priorits et plans stratgiques organisationnels en collaborant avec les principaux services et le personnel pour raliser les projets dans le respect des chances et du budget.
  • Dterminer et documenter les livrables, la porte, les chances, les ressources ncessaires, les besoins en recherche et les plans des projets.
  • Surveiller et documenter les mesures prendre et en faire le suivi tout au long du cycle de vie du projet dans le but de veiller ce que les cibles soient atteintes. Signaler les risques au fur et mesure.
  • Analyser les donnes et les tendances et pauler la directrice, EDIC, et le conseiller snior, EDI, dans la prparation de rapports (par exemple, donnes de sondage, rapports organisationnels).
  • Examiner et rechercher des renseignements, des donnes et des rsultats, tout en contribuant leur analyse en vue de dterminer lefficacit pour atteindre les objectifs prvus.
  • Prparer des documents dinformation et dautres documents (par exemple, des prsentations) pour faciliter les changes avec des parties prenantes internes et externes.
  • Appuyer la coordination et les activits de communication pour les activits externes dengagement (par exemple, engagement et consultations autochtones, qui demandent une connaissance des cultures autochtones).

Position Summary

The Specialist, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and Culture is responsible for supporting a broad range of EDI and culture initiatives and organizational and departmental strategic plans. Reporting to the Director, EDIC, with a dotted line to the Vice President, EDIC, this role will foster collaboration by coordinating with key departments to ensure the successful completion of cross-functional projects and programs. The Specialist, EDIC will support and draft communications materials for multiple audiences to support positive engagement and change management across the organization. This position is a full-time temporary role with an end date of March 31, 2027.


Responsibilities

  • Support the EDIC Office and organizational strategic plans and priorities by working with key departments and colleagues to complete projects on time and on budget
  • Identify and document project deliverables, scope, timelines, resource requirements, research needs, and project plans
  • Monitor, track and document action items over the project life cycle to ensure targets are achieved, and raise risks as identified
  • Analyze data and trends and support the Director, EDIC and Senior Advisor, EDI with preparing reports (e.g. survey data, corporate reporting)
  • Investigate, research and support the analysis of information, data and outcomes to determine effectiveness in achieving planned objectives
  • Prepare briefing documents and other materials (e.g., presentations) to support interactions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support coordination and outreach for external engagement activities (e.g. Indigenous engagement and consultations, which requires Indigenous cultural awareness)
  • Provide administrative support, including, scheduling team and initiative meetings, and taking meeting minutes as required
  • Support coordination and tracking of social committee activities and coffee chats
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to deliver projects and programs
  • Work collaboratively within the EDIC team to develop agendas, presentations, communications and contribute to events
  • Work with colleagues across departments to facilitate discussions and gain consensus where there may be differing viewpoints


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of project coordination or project management experience
  • A post-secondary education (i.e., Human Resources, Sociology, Communications, Education, Business Administration, Law, etc.)
  • Research skills (e.g., environmental scan to inform policies and practices)
  • Proficient in data collection and analysis
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written, visual)
  • Strong ability to navigate sensitive conversations and topics with high emotional intelligence and empathy
  • A motivated self-starter who takes initiative and is comfortable working autonomously, remotely, as well as in a team setting

Reporting to the Manager, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) and Anti-Racism (AR), the Advisor will be responsible for supporting the implementation of Vancouver Coastal Health’s EDI, Accessibility, and AR priority actions to deliver on our organizational commitment for a diverse workforce reflective of the communities we serve, and sustaining a workplace culture that is anti-racist, accessible, and inclusive.

As a change agent, the Advisor plays the roles of a catalyst, advisor, collaborator and educator, working with all VCH departments, services and programs to develop partnerships, build organizational capacity and cultural competency in support of systemic change. The Advisor will bring demonstrated experience in program creation, implementation and evaluation in areas including accessibility, anti-racism, decolonization, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

As an Advisor, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Anti-Racism with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:
Implement the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Anti-Racism priority actions by collaborating, influencing, and building trust with teams, partners and leaders enabling transformation of our systems, culture, and services to better meet the needs of diverse patient communities and employees.

Consult, design, deliver, and facilitate virtual and in person education for internal teams on topics such as accessibility, allyship, anti-racism, equity, dimensions of diversity, inclusive leadership, unconscious bias, microaggressions. Support organizational learning and unlearning by leveraging conflict-sensitive and trauma-informed facilitation skills.

Provide advisory and consultation support to leaders, develop their coaching and leadership capacity on equity to advance an inclusive team culture.

Consult with program teams to improve equity within policy and program development and implementation.

Prepare reports and presentations by gathering, analyzing and summarizing information from partners, databases and research, and make recommendations on program improvements.

Design, develop and communicate workplace engagement and equity survey, conduct an intersectional analysis to evaluate our progress in increasing engagement, equity, inclusion, and safety for all staff and medical staff.

Facilitate external and internal engagement to advance accessible, culturally responsive, and inclusive care for the diverse patient population, supporting health-care teams with communication material and services.

Build strong external relationships and partnerships, with targeted outreach to under-represented equity groups for recruitment effort.

Support Human Resources and Labour Relations colleagues to investigate, provide guidance to leaders, staff and teams on equity, racism, and discrimination related matters.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline such as Social Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Health Administration, Political Science, and Law supplemented with five (5) to seven (7) years of experience leading accessibility, equity or anti-racism efforts in public or private sectors, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Lived experience as a member of an equity-deserving group is considered a strong asset, particularly experience in navigating public systems.

Knowledge & Abilities
Demonstrated understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion work with deeper knowledge in applying the principles of accessibility, anti-racism, decolonization, or trans inclusion to policy, programs and organizational change.

Experience reviewing and developing policies with an accessibility, equity and anti-racism lens, providing data-driven recommendations and lived experience.

Demonstrated experience working with racialized, Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+ and other equity deserving communities in a culturally responsive and trauma informed manner, building trust and collaborative partnerships.

Skilled in building and sustaining relationships grounded in trust, mutual respect and cultural humility.

Demonstrated ability to consult and facilitate for internal teams in a conflict-sensitive and trauma-informed manner.

Job Description

This role serves as Sodexo’s primary representative to diverse and small business communities in Canada. The individual will actively facilitate connections between potential suppliers and internal decision-makers, support compliance by ensuring vendors meet established reporting requirements, and promote Sodexo’s commitment to supplier diversity by representing the company at conferences, trade shows, and external engagements. This position leads the management of over 500 diverse and SME vendors and over $75 m llion in diverse vendor spend.

Your key responsibilities include diverse vendor reporting (a requirement in many client contracts), driving diverse supplier education within our Supply Management team and affiliation engagement with key diversity organizations. This position serves as the face of Sodexo with potential diverse and SME businesses to connect with the correct contact for opportunities, holds our contracted vendors accountable for reporting and represents Sodexo to external organization at conferences and events.

Develops and Maintains Diverse Supplier Pipeline

  • Oversees the vendor portal to identify potential new diverse vendors for the US/CAN
  • Connects potential diverse/small vendors with the correct internal contact
  • Ensures diverse vendors are included in all category RFPs
  • Manages the general supplier diversity mailbox to assure a positive experience with Sodexo
  • Attends matchmaker events with external organizations to identify potential new partner
  • Manages the required PAR engagement and reporting for indigenous spend to support Sodexo’s Gold status

Manages Diverse and SME Supplier Reporting

  • Maintain and update technology to provide quarterly reporting of 2nd Tier vendors spend
  • Educate vendors on establishing supplier diversity program (as needed)
  • Maintain vendor database to track spend and compliance to program
  • Ensures accountability for diverse spend goals and vendors reporting

Maintain Certification Repository for Diverse Vendors

  • Ensure our 500+ diverse and small vendors certifications are updated and current in system from over 30 databases on a quarterly basis
  • Tracking Small business spend for completion of Better Tomorrow reporting (audited annually)
  • Responsible for providing reporting for over 50+ clients including training unit managers and creating ta newsletter with updated certifications

Key contact for Supply Managers and Ambassadors to support growth of diverse spend

  • Support Supply team to meet supplier diversity goals
  • Lead Diversity Organization Engagement
  • Attend conferences, workshops and tradeshows serving as the subject matter expert which may include identifying and meeting with potential diverse vendors
  • Present on regional and/or national panels as a subject matter expert in supplier diversity
  • Represent Sodexo as a member of the procurement council or committee member for some organizations.
Qualifications

  • BS Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Management, Supplier Diversity or related field
  • Supplier diversity certification CAMSC is a very strong asset
  • 3 – 5 years in a similar position supporting supply chain management
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Public speaking skills to speak to large groups as a subject matter expert
  • Strong external networking experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

Job Description

This role serves as Sodexo’s primary representative to diverse and small business communities in Canada. The individual will actively facilitate connections between potential suppliers and internal decision-makers, support compliance by ensuring vendors meet established reporting requirements, and promote Sodexo’s commitment to supplier diversity by representing the company at conferences, trade shows, and external engagements. This position leads the management of over 500 diverse and SME vendors and over $75 m llion in diverse vendor spend.

Your key responsibilities include diverse vendor reporting (a requirement in many client contracts), driving diverse supplier education within our Supply Management team and affiliation engagement with key diversity organizations. This position serves as the face of Sodexo with potential diverse and SME businesses to connect with the correct contact for opportunities, holds our contracted vendors accountable for reporting and represents Sodexo to external organization at conferences and events.

Develops and Maintains Diverse Supplier Pipeline

  • Oversees the vendor portal to identify potential new diverse vendors for the US/CAN
  • Connects potential diverse/small vendors with the correct internal contact
  • Ensures diverse vendors are included in all category RFPs
  • Manages the general supplier diversity mailbox to assure a positive experience with Sodexo
  • Attends matchmaker events with external organizations to identify potential new partner
  • Manages the required PAR engagement and reporting for indigenous spend to support Sodexo’s Gold status

Manages Diverse and SME Supplier Reporting

  • Maintain and update technology to provide quarterly reporting of 2nd Tier vendors spend
  • Educate vendors on establishing supplier diversity program (as needed)
  • Maintain vendor database to track spend and compliance to program
  • Ensures accountability for diverse spend goals and vendors reporting

Maintain Certification Repository for Diverse Vendors

  • Ensure our 500+ diverse and small vendors certifications are updated and current in system from over 30 databases on a quarterly basis
  • Tracking Small business spend for completion of Better Tomorrow reporting (audited annually)
  • Responsible for providing reporting for over 50+ clients including training unit managers and creating ta newsletter with updated certifications

Key contact for Supply Managers and Ambassadors to support growth of diverse spend

  • Support Supply team to meet supplier diversity goals
  • Lead Diversity Organization Engagement
  • Attend conferences, workshops and tradeshows serving as the subject matter expert which may include identifying and meeting with potential diverse vendors
  • Present on regional and/or national panels as a subject matter expert in supplier diversity
  • Represent Sodexo as a member of the procurement council or committee member for some organizations.
Qualifications

  • BS Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Management, Supplier Diversity or related field
  • Supplier diversity certification CAMSC is a very strong asset
  • 3 – 5 years in a similar position supporting supply chain management
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Public speaking skills to speak to large groups as a subject matter expert
  • Strong external networking experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Financial management with databases and spreadsheet with problem solving ability to improve processes databases
  • External and internal networking
  • Project management
  • Ability to work collaboratively within and across functions
  • Advanced user in MS Excel to include pivot tables and vlook-ups
  • Prefer experience with Brio and SAP
  • Experience with databases to create reports
  • Business Acumen to work internally and externally as well as all levels of the organization

Bilingual French/English both oral and written is considered a very strong asset
