J OB SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Shki Waase-Aaban Binoojiinh Gamik Manager the Transportation Driver is responsible to provide transportation for children ages 18 months to 5 years of age for pick up and drop off at the residential locations. The transportation driver will ensure the smooth operation of the transportation service in coordination with staff and programming needs.

POSITION DUTIES:

  • Maintain a daily logbook of all transportation
  • Conduct daily circle and safety inspections of vehicle and document and/or report deficiencies to manager
  • Consult with Manager about vehicle forms and any requirements for additional transportation services for planned activities and/or excursions
  • Report all accidents, injuries and illnesses to the Manager and record such incidents as required and/or directed
  • Maintain a Vehicle Form and Transportation Seating Chart to confirm (by signature) that all children are accounted for
  • As required, transfer wheelchairs, scooters or other medical equipment into vehicle
  • Maintain a neat and sanitary environment inside the vehicle
  • Conduct regular/routine maintenance of vehicle such as oil changes, installation of summer or winter tires, etc.
  • Schedule and transport vehicle for repairs as required
  • Clean and sanitize the interior of vehicle on a regular basis and wash the exterior as required

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Must have current CPR, First Aid Certification, and AED Certification (or willing to obtain)
  • Must provide a clear CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) record
  • Must have a Valid Drivers Class F Drivers License
  • Must treat all passengers in a respectful and professional manner
  • Must sign & maintain confidentiality
  • Must maintain a neat and professional appearance
  • Personal suitability will be considered for this type of position

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a valid Class F drivers license
  • Must provide a positive Drivers Abstract
  • Must be mature and responsible relate well to children, staff and parents is essential
  • Ability to work flexible hours as approved by immediate Manager
  • Must have the ability to read, comprehend and comply with all Sagamok Anishnawbek policies
  • Must have the ability to work well in a team setting
  • The ability to speak the Ojibway language, and knowledge and appreciation of Native culture and heritage are considered definite assets

Job Summary:

The Rail Safety Training & Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, delivering and overseeing the implementation of rail safety training programs in alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational safety policies. This role ensures all curriculum meets applicable customer, provincial, and local regulations, and that operational personnel receive effective and compliant safety instruction and training. The Manager will also monitor and audit compliance efforts, investigate safety incidents for educational improvement, and serve as a key liaison between training, customer, operations, and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development & Instructional Oversight

  • Oversee development and updates regarding comprehensive rail safety training curriculum, manuals, and instructional materials.
  • Ensure training content aligns with customer and company-specific safety requirements.
  • Oversee coordination and delivery of instructor-led training sessions, certifications, and safety briefings.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, audits, and feedback.
  • Management of direct reports

Compliance & Auditing

  • Monitor employee compliance with training requirements, recertification timelines, and safety standards.
  • Oversee audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure operational compliance with rail safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed training and compliance records.

Incident Review & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with EHS department and JHSC to analyze incidents and identify training-related corrective actions.
  • Revise curriculum based on lessons learned, regulatory updates, and safety trends.
  • Lead root cause analysis reviews with a focus on educational and procedural improvements.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise and support operations, instructional staff, and administrative personnel.
  • Serve as the point of contact for internal departments and external regulatory agencies regarding training and compliance matters.
  • Coordinate with HR and Operations to schedule training, track participation, and enforce compliance.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in rail operations, rail safety, or training roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of CROR.
  • Experience developing training programs or instructional materials.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with frequent visits to field or operational sites.

Reporting to the Occupational Health and Safety Manager within the Operations and Protective Services Division the Health and Safety Training Officer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive health and safety training programs across the organization and providing reports to the Health and Safety Manager. The Officer ensures that employees, contractors, and vendors are educated on workplace safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and emergency procedures. This role is key to promoting a strong safety culture within the organization by ensuring all personnel are well-equipped to prevent accidents and respond effectively to emergencies. The Officer will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and making improvements as needed by auditing training and performance. Additionally, the Officer will be responsible to conduct inspections, complete all required departmental documentation and submit to WSCC.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum Level of Education/Training:    

  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Education, Training and Development, or a related field. 
  • Alternatively, a diploma or certification in Occupational Health and Safety with extensive training and instructional experience may be acceptable. 

Minimum Level of Experience:  
  • 2 years of experience in developing and delivering health and safety training, preferably in a municipal, public sector, or industrial environment. 
  • Experience in designing and delivering both in-person and virtual training programs. 
  • Experience with training compliance and certification management. 
  • Experience in developing and implementing health and safety programs, including Standard Operating Procedures, policies and training.

Assets:  
  • Experience in the municipal or public sector , particularly in a training or safety-focused role. 
  • Proficiency in developing e-learning modules or experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for tracking training. 
  • Experience in emergency response training or crisis management training. 
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities can be an asset, especially in regions with diverse populations. 

Certifications:  
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), NCSO or similar certification is preferred.  
  • Train-the-Trainer certification or equivalent experience in instructional design. 
  • First Aid, CPR, AED Certification required, especially in training for emergency response. 
  • Additional relevant certifications in safety training, such as Instructor Certification for WHMIS or OSHA Outreach Trainer. 
 
Additional Requirements:   
  • Canadian Citizenship or Landed Immigrant Status 
  • Clear Criminal and Vulnerable Sectors Record Check (Every 3 years by RCMP) 
  • The ability to communicate both written and orally in English.

Reporting to the Occupational Health and Safety Manager within the Operations and Protective Services Division the Health and Safety Training Officer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive health and safety training programs across the organization and providing reports to the Health and Safety Manager. The Officer ensures that employees, contractors, and vendors are educated on workplace safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and emergency procedures. This role is key to promoting a strong safety culture within the organization by ensuring all personnel are well-equipped to prevent accidents and respond effectively to emergencies. The Officer will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and making improvements as needed by auditing training and performance. Additionally, the Officer will be responsible to conduct inspections, complete all required departmental documentation and submit to WSCC.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum Level of Education/Training:   
  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Education, Training and Development, or a related field. 
  • Alternatively, a diploma or certification in Occupational Health and Safety with extensive training and instructional experience may be acceptable. 

  • Minimum Level of Experience:  
  • 2 years of experience in developing and delivering health and safety training, preferably in a municipal, public sector, or industrial environment. 
  • Experience in designing and delivering both in-person and virtual training programs. 
  • Experience with training compliance and certification management. 
  • Experience in developing and implementing health and safety programs, including Standard Operating Procedures, policies and training.

  • Assets:  
  • Experience in the municipal or public sector , particularly in a training or safety-focused role. 
  • Proficiency in developing e-learning modules or experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for tracking training. 
  • Experience in emergency response training or crisis management training. 
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities can be an asset, especially in regions with diverse populations. 

  • Certifications:  
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), NCSO or similar certification is preferred.
  • Train-the-Trainer certification or equivalent experience in instructional design. 
  • First Aid, CPR, AED Certification required, especially in training for emergency response. 
  • Additional relevant certifications in safety training, such as Instructor Certification for WHMIS or OSHA Outreach Trainer. 

  • Additional Requirements:   
  • Canadian Citizenship or Landed Immigrant Status 
  • Clear Criminal and Vulnerable Sectors Record Check (Every 3 years by RCMP) 
  • The ability to communicate both written and orally in English.

    Relevant du gestionnaire de la santé et de la sécurité au travail au sein de la division des opérations et des services de protection, l’agent de formation en santé et sécurité est responsable de la conception, de l’élaboration et de la prestation de programmes complets de formation en santé et sécurité à l’échelle de l’organisation, ainsi que de la présentation de rapports au gestionnaire de la santé et de la sécurité. La personne au poste d’agent veille à ce que les employés, les entrepreneurs et les fournisseurs soient informés des protocoles de sécurité en milieu de travail, de la conformité réglementaire et des procédures d’urgence. Ce rôle est essentiel pour promouvoir une solide culture de sécurité au sein de l’organisation en veillant à ce que tout le personnel soit bien équipé pour prévenir les accidents et intervenir efficacement en cas d’urgence. L’agent sera également chargé d’évaluer l’efficacité des programmes de formation et d’apporter les améliorations nécessaires en vérifiant la formation et le rendement. De plus, cette même personne devra effectuer des inspections, remplir tous les documents ministériels requis et les soumettre à la CSTIT.

    Formation et expérience requises

    Niveau minimum d’études/de formation :   
  • Baccalauréat ou diplôme collégial en santé et sécurité au travail, en éducation, en formation et perfectionnement, ou tout autre domaine connexe. 
  • Par ailleurs, un diplôme ou une certification en santé et sécurité au travail avec une formation approfondie et une expérience pédagogique peut être acceptable. 

  • Niveau minimum d’expérience :  
  • Deux ans d’expérience dans l’élaboration et la prestation de formation en santé et sécurité, de préférence dans un environnement municipal, public ou industriel. 
  • Expérience dans la conception et la prestation de programmes de formation en personne et virtuels. 
  • Expérience en gestion de la conformité de la formation et de la certification. 
  • Expérience dans l’élaboration et la mise en œuvre de programmes de santé et de sécurité, y compris des procédures opérationnelles normalisées, des politiques et de la formation.

  • Atouts :  
  • Expérience dans le secteur municipal ou public , en particulier dans le cadre d’un rôle axé sur la formation ou la sécurité. 
  • Maîtrise du développement de modules d’apprentissage en ligne ou expérience des systèmes de gestion de l’apprentissage (SGA) pour le suivi de la formation. 
  • Expérience en formation en intervention d’urgence ou en gestion de crise. 
  • Les capacités bilingues ou multilingues peuvent être un atout, surtout dans les régions où la population est diverse. 

  • Certification :  
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), technicien en santé et sécurité au travail, NCSO ou certification similaire est préférable.
  • Certification de formation du formateur ou expérience équivalente en conception pédagogique. 
  • Certification en premiers soins, RCP, DEA requise, surtout dans le cadre de la formation sur les interventions d’urgence. 
  • Autres certifications pertinentes en formation sur la sécurité, comme la certification d’instructeur pour le SIMDUT ou de formateur externe de l’OSHA. 

  • Exigences supplémentaires :   
  • Citoyenneté canadienne ou statut d’immigrant admis 
  • Vérification des antécédents criminels et vérification d’antécédents du secteur vulnérable (tous les trois ans par la GRC) 
  • Capacité de communiquer en anglais, aussi bien à l’écrit qu’à l’oral.

    Reporting to the Occupational Health and Safety Manager within the Operations and Protective Services Division the Health and Safety Training Officer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive health and safety training programs across the organization and providing reports to the Health and Safety Manager.

    The Officer ensures that employees, contractors, and vendors are educated on workplace safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and emergency procedures.

    This role is key to promoting a strong safety culture within the organization by ensuring all personnel are well-equipped to prevent accidents and respond effectively to emergencies.

    The Officer will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and making improvements as needed by auditing training and performance. Additionally, the Officer will be responsible to conduct inspections, complete all required departmental documentation and submit to WSCC.

    Required Education and Experience Minimum Level of Education/Training:    Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Education, Training and Development, or a related field.

  •   Alternatively, a diploma or certification in Occupational Health and Safety with extensive training and instructional experience may be acceptable.
  •   Minimum Level of Experience:   2 years of experience in developing and delivering health and safety training, preferably in a municipal, public sector, or industrial environment.
  •   Experience in designing and delivering both in-person and virtual training programs.
  •   Experience with training compliance and certification management.
  •   Experience in developing and implementing health and safety programs, including Standard Operating Procedures, policies and training.

    Assets:   Experience in the municipal or public sector , particularly in a training or safety-focused role.

  •   Proficiency in developing e-learning modules or experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for tracking training.
  •   Experience in emergency response training or crisis management training.
  •   Bilingual or multilingual abilities can be an asset, especially in regions with diverse populations.
  •   Certifications:   Certified Safety Professional (CSP) , Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), NCSO or similar certification is preferred.    Train-the-Trainer certification or equivalent experience in instructional design.
  •   First Aid, CPR, AED Certification required, especially in training for emergency response.
  •   Additional relevant certifications in safety training, such as Instructor Certification for WHMIS or OSHA Outreach Trainer.

    Relevant du gestionnaire de la santé et de la sécurité au travail au sein de la division des opérations et des services de protection, l’agent de formation en santé et sécurité est responsable de la conception, de l’élaboration et de la prestation de programmes complets de formation en santé et sécurité à l’échelle de l’organisation, ainsi que de la présentation de rapports au gestionnaire de la santé et de la sécurité.

    La personne au poste d’agent veille à ce que les employés, les entrepreneurs et les fournisseurs soient informés des protocoles de sécurité en milieu de travail, de la conformité réglementaire et des procédures d’urgence.

    Ce rôle est essentiel pour promouvoir une solide culture de sécurité au sein de l’organisation en veillant à ce que tout le personnel soit bien équipé pour prévenir les accidents et intervenir efficacement en cas d’urgence.

    L’agent sera également chargé d’évaluer l’efficacité des programmes de formation et d’apporter les améliorations nécessaires en vérifiant la formation et le rendement. De plus, cette même personne devra effectuer des inspections, remplir tous les documents ministériels requis et les soumettre à la CSTIT.

    Formation et expérience requises Niveau minimum d’études/de formation :    Baccalauréat ou diplôme collégial en santé et sécurité au travail, en éducation, en formation et perfectionnement, ou tout autre domaine connexe.

  •   Par ailleurs, un diplôme ou une certification en santé et sécurité au travail avec une formation approfondie et une expérience pédagogique peut être acceptable.
  •   Niveau minimum d’expérience :   Deux ans d’expérience dans l’élaboration et la prestation de formation en santé et sécurité, de préférence dans un environnement municipal, public ou industriel.
  •   Expérience dans la conception et la prestation de programmes de formation en personne et virtuels.
  •   Expérience en gestion de la conformité de la formation et de la certification.
  •   Expérience dans l’élaboration et la mise en œuvre de programmes de santé et de sécurité, y compris des procédures opérationnelles normalisées, des politiques et de la formation.

    Atouts :   Expérience dans le secteur municipal ou public , en particulier dans le cadre d’un rôle axé sur la formation ou la sécurité.

  •   Maîtrise du développement de modules d’apprentissage en ligne ou expérience des systèmes de gestion de l’apprentissage (SGA) pour le suivi de la formation.
  •   Expérience en formation en intervention d’urgence ou en gestion de crise.
  •   Les capacités bilingues ou multilingues peuvent être un atout, surtout dans les régions où la population est diverse.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the development of a safety programs and with the implementation of a safety plan that guides the direction of BEST
    • Provide training to Operations teams relative to the safety act codes, practices and regulations
    • Evaluate staff training needs and coordinated appropriate training programs
    • MCR monitor and report for all Ontario locations and offices
    • Work directly with locations to support reoccurring MCR/OHS requirements through feedback and ongoing one on one training
    • MCR training to new and existing site leadership and administrators
    • Site install MyBest portal support though set ups, training, and uploads
    • Develop weekly toolbox safety topics for distribution for all sites/offices
    • Support Formal Hazard Development during site start ups and adjustments of current locations
    • Development of Emergency Action Plans for site start ups and adjustments of current locations
    • Support/monitor Ontario claims management through partnership with Teksmed and site leadership
    • Support/Monitor Ontario Investigations to ensure on time compliance, root cause identification and completion of corrective actions
    • Provide training and support to new site locations on injury management processes
    • Provide feedback and solutions to provincial senior leadership on results, injury trends and claims
    • Work directly with Safety Manager to provide solutions and pro-active approach to injury trends and results
    • Analyze and monitor Ontario COR standards to ensure standards are in place
    • Other duties as required to support business growth

    Skills Required:

    • Exceptional interpersonal and communicational skills (written & verbal)
    • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Word and Power Point
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Excel
    • Good understanding of Employment Standards Act & Occupational Health and Safety Act
    • Intrinsic ability to effectively analyze, plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
    • Multilingual ability considered an asset

    Education & Experience:

    • Some post-secondary education in business administration, management, human resources management, or related field
    • Previous work experience, with a focus on training for entry level service positions considered an asset
    • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract.
    • Acceptable security and criminal record check

    Qualifications:
