Job Responsibilities:
The Robotics Technician is responsible for modifying existing automation control systems and designing, estimating, and commissioning new ones integrated with Robots based on PLC's. They implement Safety Category 4 for installations, presses, and robotics work cells and integrate equipment with robots and testing instruments. The engineer troubleshoots process problems, participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives, and maintains automated work cells, mechanical, and hydraulic presses. They also set up and conduct maintenance programs, follow standardized work instructions/procedures, and ensure compliance with customer requirements and quality, health and safety, and environmental standards.
**Please note this opportunity is for Nigh shift (10pm-6am)
- Responsible for modifying existing automation control systems as well as designing, estimating, and commissioning new automation control systems integrated with Robots based on PLC's
- Implement Safety Category 4 for all required installations, presses and robotics work cells
- Integrate equipment with robots and various testing and monitoring instruments
- Troubleshoot process problems and initiative and/or participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and quality improvements
- Maintain and service automated work cells; mechanical and hydraulic presses
- Set up and conduct predictive and preventative maintenance programs for required equipment
- Perform all work in good standard, respond to off duty calls, and work rotating shifts if required.
- Follow all work cell and/or department standardized work instructions/procedures.
- Ensure, with the cooperation of other Co-Ex-Tec departments and Corporate that the division achieves and maintains the highest possible Customer rating for satisfaction; strive for zero defects in all areas of the business.
- Ensure compliance and enforcement of Customer Specific Requirements, QMS (IATF16949), Health and Safety
(ISO 45001), EMS (ISO14001), and security (PIP) requirements. - Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Promote and comply with health, safety, and environmental standards, safe operating procedures, good housekeeping practices and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times.
- Attend authorized training in order to develop and/or maintain relevant job-related knowledge, techniques, skills, and/or certification.
- May be required to carry out job duties and responsibilities in a work environment that may include, but is not limited to, varying levels of noise and/or temperature.
- Perform any other reasonable duty as required or assigned by Management
Requirements:
- Degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
- Certified Electrician, an asset
- Minimum 3 Years of experience in Electrical / Controls Design and Programmable Logic Controllers / Human Machine Interface Programming (PLC / HMI) / Vision Systems / Robot programming and troubleshooting including debugging, testing and commissioning.
- Strong MS Office skills
- Proficient knowledge in PLC Programming: Allen Bradley RsLogix 500, 5000, Omron Sysmac Studio, Omron CS-Programmer, Omron NT-series Support Tool, Beckhoff, Visual Studios, Factory Talk View Studio, HMI Software (RsView Studio ME), Office, AutoCAD, Ethernet based communications and networks
- Ability to understand advanced PLC commands and HMI usage
- Ability to create and modify electrical drawings, process & instrumentation diagrams and schematics when required

We are seeking experienced Robotics Technicians and Joining Specialists to support an upcoming integration and commissioning project in Brampton, Ontario. This project will utilize Fanuc and Nachi robotic systems across multiple applications, including Material Handling (MH), Servo Spot Welding, Drawn Arc Stud Welding, MIG Welding, and Dispense processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with setup, integration, and debug of robotic systems and automation equipment.
- Support mechanical and electrical installation of tooling, robotics, and automated cells.
- Perform robot programming, troubleshooting, and validation on Fanuc and Nachi platforms.
- Work with joining specialists to ensure welding and joining processes (Spot, MIG, Stud, Dispense) meet performance and quality standards.
- Support system testing, debugging, and commissioning through final handoff.
- Maintain accurate documentation, communicate technical updates, and follow all safety/quality requirements.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
- Post- Secondary education in Robotics / Automation
- Must have experience in Mig, Stick and Tig welding
- Good English - both written, verbal and following instructions
- Good communication skills

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Optimizes welding parameters to improve weld condition
- Evaluates data and conduct experiments to develop application of new equipment or improved techniques, procedures and practices
- Carry out all assigned P/M's for spot welders, mig welders and associated equipment
- Work with Process Engineers and Program managers as well as other technical support Team members to resolve quality and cycle time issues
- Respond to all breakdown related calls as quickly as possible
- Formulation and involvement in Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Communicate with area leaders and managers to assess priority of each call when necessary
- Compete all associated paperwork and make daily entries into computerized maintenance system of all work
- Must carry a cell phone at all times and respond to all calls in a professional manner
- Must be able to work overtime
- Performs all job functions abiding by the office/work standards, policies and procedures as outlines in the company handbook.
- Performs all job functions in alignment with IATF 16949 quality management standards and ISO 14001

Responsibilities- Travel to hospital and partner sites to perform advanced preventative and corrective maintenance on robotic systems.
- Assemble and iterate prototype units, providing feedback on design, function, and manufacturability.
- Operate robotic devices during clinical demos and trials, supporting customer training and evaluations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues in the field.
- Determines parts, supplies or tools needed to complete service requests.
- Execute and track product validation plans, documenting field test results to support regulatory compliance.
- Submit detailed service reports and communicate field insights to engineering and product teams.
- Mentor junior technicians and contribute to service procedures, training materials, and process improvements.
- 3-5 of industry experience - robotics, mechatronic devices, medical devices, assembly and manufacturing - specifically in the medical equipment sector.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to operate independently in the field.
- Valid G-class driver's license and passport, with the ability to travel freely between Canada and the U.S.
- Willing and able to travel frequently to clinical sites across North America, sometimes on short notice.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, or system wiring diagrams
- Solid understanding of workplace safety standards, particularly when working with powered equipment and medical devices.
- Hands-on experience with mechatronic systems, including software updates, firmware flashing, serial interfaces and basic command-line tools.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a demonstrated ability to diagnose complex, system-level issues.
- Comfortable communicating with healthcare staff, engineers, and internal stakeholders in both technical and non-technical contexts.
