As an instructor in Adult Basic Education (ABE), you will provide instruction of 8 courses in the Adult 12 program. This position includes the following accountabilities:
- Prepare lesson plans and appropriate delivery methods
- Create, maintain and submit all course-related materials including evaluations, attendance records, course evaluations, and annual year plans
- Incorporate current technology advancements within instruction and administration where applicable
- Make recommendations to modify course objectives, course outlines, curriculum and evaluation procedures and instruments
- Adhere to and promote academic regulations and SIIT policies and procedures
- Foster a positive, collaborative and professional working relationship among students, coworkers and partners across the institution
- Ensures a positive, diverse and inclusive work and learning environment
- Maintain classroom, and lab discipline and, if necessary, recommend action to applicable supervisor regarding student behavior, including formal student disciplinary action
Required Qualifications and Experience: A Bachelor of Education from an accredited institution. Must possess a Saskatchewan teaching certificate or be eligible to obtain one. An understanding of adult learning theories and principals is considered an asset. Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations is considered an asset.

The QA Editor is primarily tasked with evaluating program materials for inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies. Additionally, the QA Editor will be required to review various components of online learning modules and materials to guarantee front-end functionality, and ensure business standards are met.

- Review online educational initiatives to ensure medical content is presented appropriately based on activity expectations and in line with branding guidelines
- Conduct functional review of dynamic online modules keeping the user experience in mind
- Proofread medical content in the form of slides and textual documents for grammar, consistency, and adherence to AMA Style Guide
- Review email and print publicity to ensure materials are error-free and formatted according to template guidelines
- Aid QA Editor Team in maintaining internal checklists and other QA reference documentation
- Liaise with Educational Program Directors, Managing Editors, Graphic Designers, and Web Integrators to ensure seamless production of program materials
- Manage timelines to ensure all materials are produced and QA approved by their due date
Who you are
- 2+ years proofreading or editing experience, preferably in a medical/scientific context
- Familiarity with AMA Manual of Style
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Exposure to working with content management systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Intrinsic sense for details
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Internet conventions and graphics/layout issues

Nature and Scope
The Facilitator serves a primary role in planning and facilitating Indigenous Early Childhood Education (INECE) Level 1 to ensure successful outcomes within the Academics department. This position will positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT's vision, mission, and mandate.
General Accountability
The Facilitator will be responsible for developing, coordinating, delivering and facilitating all program components for lower literacy adult learners. The goal of the program is to assist lower literacy adult learners build essential skills and knowledge of the transferability of those skills to future employment experiences and career choices in Early Childhood Education. The Facilitator delivers programming while creating an environment that guides and ensures each student is successful. The Facilitator keeps current with developments in subject areas, resources and methods, and make relevant changes to plans and activities to suit the individual needs of their students.
The Facilitator will be responsible for delivering a specific program according to the needs of the community, funding agency or employer. Working collaboratively with Academic staff and community contacts, the facilitator demonstrates a strong commitment to create and maintain a creative and positive learning environment and experience for learners. The position includes the following broad range of accountabilities:
Specific Accountabilities
Facilitation and Administration
- Plan and develop lesson plans in communications, numeracy, and other essential skills essential skills using benchmarks contained in the Circle of Learning
- Instruct three Early Childhood Education Level 1 courses: Communicating with Children and Guiding Children's Behaviour, Introduction to Play, Health, Safety and Nutrition
- Prepare lesson plans and appropriate delivery methods, following the curricular outcomes provided
- Use appropriate methods of facilitation, modeling, and coaching to facilitate learning
- Work closely with students to identify their barriers and to guide them to determine appropriate solutions
- Provide assistance, guidance, referrals, and information to students as required for each program
- Create and maintain all course-related materials including evaluations, attendance records, and course evaluations
- Incorporate digital literacy within all aspects of the program, where applicable
- Make recommendations to modify course objectives, course outlines, curriculum and evaluation procedures, where applicable
- Keep current and relevant in applicable teaching areas, educational standards, industry trends, and best practices
- Assist with the planning and coordination of other employment preparation skill building certificate trainings
- Maintain program data and complete reports in a timely manner
- Provide career information and assist students with identifying their skills and strengths into a portfolio
- Apply strength-based approaches to facilitate the social competence of students
- Evaluate students while on work practicums
- Adhere to and promote SIIT policies and procedures

- Link students to work placements or volunteer opportunities
Required Qualifications and Experience: A two-year post-secondary diploma in Education, Social Services, or relevant education and experience related to Early Childhood Education or a bachelor's degree in Education with at least two (2) years of related experience in Facilitating or teaching. Experience in assessing and counseling First Nation adults is considered an asset. Experience working with Microsoft Office suite of programs is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations would be an asset. For success in this position a genuine commitment to help clients learn and succeed is required. An understanding of adult learning theories and principles is considered an asset. The successful candidate will be required to provide a cleared criminal record check with vulnerable sector check upon hire.
