Purpose of Position

Case Managers oversee a caseload of assigned instructors, learners, and families.
They are responsible for facilitating communication between all parties and ensuring service delivery is individualized, research-informed, and generally aligned with LDS values and instructional approach.

Case Managers monitor the implementation of individualized learning programs and support instructors with best practices. The position reports to our Lead Case Manager
and works collaboratively with the entire team to ensure the efficacy of service delivery. During non-instructional times (summer, school breaks), other duties are assigned based on individual interests and strengths.

Principal Roles and Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a large caseload (100+) of instructors, learners, and families
  • Facilitate communication between instructors and families, and at times with schools and other professionals via multiple communication channels (written, verbal)
  • Support instructors with finding the best individualized approach for each learner and planning appropriate sessions
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on year-long learning plans developed by instructors to ensure effective and values-aligned program delivery
  • Participate in observing instructors sessions
  • Attend and contribute toregular case management meetings

*Tasks outside of those explicitly outlined may be expected during times of increased need*

Competencies

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (English; French not required)
    Excellent interpersonal skills
    Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage a large caseload during peak (and off-peak) times
  • Ability to mentor and support new instructors
  • Exceptionally organized using digital shared platforms (databases, excel sheets, etc.)
  • Compassionate and caring, with an ability to set professional and privacy boundaries in sometimes-challenging conversations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in education
  • Experience teaching in inclusive education environments, including experience teaching reading, writing, and/or mathematics with a structured, systematic, explicit approach
    Experience working with children with diagnosed or suspected learning differences
  • Ability to use assessment strategies and instruments to identify
    gaps in learning
    An understanding of the BC curriculum, or an ability to gain quick understanding
    Criminal record check with the vulnerable sector
    Eligibility to work in Canada

Good to have

  • Experience working with complex behavioural profiles and/or within Trauma-Informed Practices (asset)
  • Experience managing or supervising instructors or teachers (asset)

Start date:
August 5, 2025 (or by August 18, 2025, at the latest)

Reports to: Lead Case Manager

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday.

  • Availability until 6:30 pm isrequired on at least one weekday evening, with flexibility on the other four workdays to work between 9:30 am and 7:30 pm.
  • Occasional(less than once a month) pre-scheduled evenings to 7:30 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5pm will be required to facilitate instructor observations and support.

Remuneration and Benefits: 57,000 - 61,000/year

The Mikisew Cree First Nation (Mikisew) has lived on the ancestral lands of the Athabasca Delta and Wood Buffalo National Park in northeastern Alberta since time immemorial. Who You Are

Mikisew is currently seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Learning and Development Support Worke r based in Fort Chipewyan. The Early Childhood Learning and Development Support Worker will report to the Wellness Manager and primarily be responsible for assisting with the design, development and facilitation of Indigenous-focused, culturally safe early years drop-in parent/caregiver participation program and outreach to support Mikisew Cree First Nations children aged 0-6.

This position is in Fort Chipewyan but a hybrid model of working remoting from Fort McMurray with frequent travel weekly to the community will be considered.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Incorporate and coordinate activity-based programming for the different stages of a childs developmental growth including socio-emotional and cognitive development and inclusion for children who require additional support.
  • Deliver culturally safe, wholistic early years drop-in and outreach programming
  • Provide involvement of Indigenous Elders/Knowledge Keepers to honor the teachings of our ancestors, incorporate traditional storytelling, culture, values, practices, Cree language, foods and child development activities into the program.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives of community-based early childcare educators, health and service providers, community organizations, agencies and at the municipality, provincial and federal level.
  • Prepare and submit annual work plans/budgets and manage program according to funding terms and conditions.
  • Assist with program evaluation and quality improvements, continue researching the best practices in the early years field.
  • Participate in Health Department Team meetings.
  • Other duties as required.



Qualifications

  • Education in Early Childhood Development diploma, Social services diploma or a related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training and professional experience.
  • Must have a valid First Aid and Infant CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment).
  • Must obtain Satisfactory current Criminal Record, Vulnerable Sector and Child Intervention Record Checks. (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment).
  • Must have a valid Food Safe certificate (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment).

Student Support Worker staff have a working calendar that provides time off during some non-instructional days.

What will you do?

Responsibilities include identifying students potentially at risk, accessing appropriate internal and external resources, organizing and leading support groups, and facilitating strategies for student progress.

Employees in this class have considerable internal contacts both with the school and School Division. Contacts vary and involve providing information through various means, resolving conflicts and coordinating information services. Employees also participate on internal committees to share information, receive direction and report on progress. External contacts extend to community service agencies, parents and other involved supports.

The successful candidate will provide support in the areas of social skills, conflict resolution and mediation, self-esteem, assertiveness, communications, study skills, goal setting, problem solving and anger and stress management. The student support team member will assist with orientation and transition processes. The candidate will act as a mediator when students are in conflict, provides conflict resolution support and guide students through the process.

Location(s) Available:

This position is with the Lethbridge School Division and, under the Division Counselling Model, the specific location will be assigned based on student and Division needs. The initial assignment will be at General Stewart and Mike Mountain Horse Elementary Schools, and is subject to change based on evolving needs across the Division.

Education and Experience Required:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and supportive Teacher’s Assistant to join our instructional team. This is a blended role, providing academic and administrative support to both in-person and online learners in a dynamic and student-centered environment.
The ideal candidate is organized, tech-savvy, and passionate about helping students succeed in their studies. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in both instructional support and educational technology.

Position:  Full  time - Monday to Friday
Wages:  $25.00 p/hr to $27.00 p/hr depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic support to students during in-person labs, workshops, or tutorials.
  • Assist students in navigating online learning platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams).
  • Support instructors in monitoring class participation, attendance, and assignment submissions.
  • Respond to student questions and direct them to appropriate resources or supports.
  • Help set up and organize instructional materials both online and in the classroom.
  • Assist in marking quizzes or assignments as directed by the instructor.
  • Coordinate with faculty to identify students needing extra help and provide one-on-one or group support.
  • Help facilitate smooth communication between students and instructors in both learning environments.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a diploma/degree (preferably in Healthcare or Social Work/Human services)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable with online tools such as Microsoft Teams & basic troubleshooting
  • Experience working with adult learners or in an academic setting is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking passionate Teaching Assistant Supervisor’s (TAS) who are looking for an enriching experience to be part of the school team. Our TAS’s are responsible for supporting and developing Fort McKay students, while focusing on the delivery of exceptional educational services. These are casual on-call positions reporting directly to the Principal of Elsie Fabian School.  

KEY RESPONSIBITIES 
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    Teach and supervise students while following lesson plans created by the teacher.  
   Demonstrate the importance of making a strong, positive connection with all students, through classroom interactions as well as involvement with students.
  Maintain a positive learning environment.
 Ability and commitment to work as a member of a team and establish productive relationships with staff.
  Other related duties as assigned.

KEY REQUIREMENTS 
  Possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  Knowledge of Alberta curriculum is an asset
 Ability to use technology in the classroom to engage student learning 
  Superior organizational and interpersonal skills 
  Good classroom management skills
  Experience working in a First Nations community including knowledge of First Nations culture, traditions and values is a definite asset
  Ability to speak, read and write Cree and/or Dene considered an asset
  Clean Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector required
  Valid class 5 Driver’s License & Clean Driver’s Abstract required

As part of our Employee Support Representative team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of full employee life cycle experiences across Ledcor. **Essential Responsibilities**

- Supports and ensures accurate and timely transactions within HRIS and applicable third-party websites of employee lifecycle changes within payroll deadlines which can include, but not limited to hires, changes to employees, leaves, terminations, benefit enrollments, transfer letters
- Facilitates and coordinates pre-employment and onboarding requirements, closely collaborating with recruitment and liaising directly with external candidates to facilitate timely completion
- Provides exceptional customer service by answering employee and manager questions that can be resolved within defined guidelines and/or service level agreements through call and case management
- Escalates cases, when necessary, to other HR team members and stakeholders while maintaining communication with the employee through to resolution
- Identifies and resolves issues with HRIS data integration to other platforms that support continuous improvement and a positive employee experience
- Supports employees and managers in the initiation and processing of employee and manager self-serve processes
- Prepares routine reports for periodic and ad-hoc audit purposes, reviewing information for validity, and actions accordingly in a timely fashion

**Qualifications**

- Completing a degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business or a related field
- Experience in a service centre or equivalent human resources assistant experience preferred
- Excellent customer service and service compliant resolution skills
- Strong communication and listening skills to deliver messages in a clear and compelling manner
- Excellent attention to detail, with a high level of precision of data and accuracy in any deliverables
- Ability to work efficiently in a high demand, team oriented, and fast-paced environment
- Flexible with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the organization
- The ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong sense of urgency as part of daily work style
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Experience with Workday and JD Edwards is an asset
