POSITION OVERVIEW: Senior Electrical & Control Designer
Lauren Services is seeking aSenior Electrical & Control Designerto join our Calgary team. This role is focused on the design and integration of electrical and control systems for Oil & Gas and energy-related EPCM projects. The ideal candidate will bring10+ years of experiencein electrical and instrumentation design, with a strong background in control systems, field instrumentation, and detailed design deliverables.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead electrical and control design scope across multiple concurrent EPCM projects
- Develop and review electrical and I&C deliverables including:
- P&ID markups
- Instrument index and I/O lists
- Control narratives
- Loop and wiring diagrams
- Cable schedules and termination drawings
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, and instrumentation teams to ensure design alignment
- Integrate vendor-supplied control systems and instrumentation into project documentation
- Prepare detailed specifications and datasheets for electrical and control equipment
- Ensure compliance with CSA, ISA, API, IEC, and client-specific standards
- Provide field support during construction and commissioning, including redlines and as-built documentation
- Participate in HAZOPs and design reviews, resolving technical issues during design phases

QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Instrumentation Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical and control design within Oil & Gas or industrial sectors
- Proven experience leading design scope on EPCM projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel; experience with SPI (INtools) is an asset
- Strong understanding of control systems, instrumentation devices, and loop design fundamentals
- Familiarity with industry standards, including CSA, ISA, API, and IEC

Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Development of Programming and troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, Motion control, Vision, Drives, Robots and Safety applications.

Work Experience Requirements

This is a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) role on a 14/14 schedule. Flights leave out of Saskatoon on Fridays at 7:00am. Candidates must have electrical inspection experience and hold a valid Red Seal Electrician certification .
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections on electrical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with CEC, CSA, SaskPower, and client standards
- Identify deficiencies and follow up on corrective actions
- Create and manage punch lists, inspection records, and quality reports

The Electrical Engineer (Motor Control PCB) will report to the Research and Development Manager and work closely with the R&D team to design and test PCBs for linear actuator motor control. This role involves both hands-on design and collaboration with firmware, mechanical, and product teams to bring high-quality motor control systems from concept to production.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in motor control PCB design, a methodical engineering approach, and the ability to see products through the full lifecycle starting from requirements gathering to product ready for sale.
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as Product Owner for developing, procuring, and launching motor control boxes (Linear Actuator Controllers and Control Boxes - Progressive Automations). This includes coordinating prototyping, assembly, and procurement of inventory.
- Primary focus will be on PCB Design and layout.
- Design cost-effective control systems for mass production, selecting components based on availability and cost-effectiveness for both local and overseas manufacturing.

Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy in North America, is looking for a Senior Protection & Control Electrical Technologist
to join our Alberta team. The primary role of a Protection & Control Technologist is to perform programming, testing and verification of protection & control devices in the field. The role is responsible for testing, commission or maintain power distribution equipment. This position requires interfacing with clients and construction crew, travelling 70-80% of their time.
What will you do as a Senior Protection & Control Electrical Technologist at Spark Power?
- Be aligned with safety to protect yourself and team members.
- Understand, Plan, and Utilize utility & industry standard lockout procedures.
- Read and interpret electrical AC & DC schematics, AC three-line, logic diagrams and SLDs.
- Inspect, test, operate and troubleshoot AC & DC control and protection wiring schematic.
- Perform field testing, verification, and programming of various IEDs from manufacturers such as SEL, GE Multilin, GEC Alstom, Siemens, Square D and ABB.
- Maintain or Commission Power distribution equipment including Power Transformers, Circuit Breakers, HV Switches and Instrument Transformers.
- Be familiar with industry-specific codes and Standards (AESO, AUEC, IEEE, and NETA).
- Ability and willingness to travel 70-80% of the time for out of town for commissioning or maintenance projects.
- Report, record, compute, and process electrical test information in accordance with accepted standard practices.
- Co-ordinate the day-to-day functions on a job by job basis, such as but not limited to, compliance with all Health and Safety standards and regulations, availability of necessary resources such as human resources, equipment and materials, resolving conflicts, timely and accurate submission of paperwork.

- Experience - 3 to 5 years of experience in P&C
- Education - 2-year Electrical Engineering Technology diploma (I.e. from NAIT or SAIT) or Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree.
- Licenses - Registered or eligible to register with ASET or APEGA.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

**Job Description**
**AECOM** is actively seeking an **Electrical Engineer** for immediate employment for the London/ Kitchener, Ontario office.
**Job Summary:**
You will support projects across Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability sectors, including renewable energy (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. You will work under moderate supervision and contribute to a variety of engineering design and analysis tasks while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.
**The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:**
+ Perform electrical analyses, calculations, and routine tests in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
+ Assist in preparing technical specifications, design drawings, memos, and reports.
+ Identify discrepancies in results and propose solutions using sound engineering judgment.
+ Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to fulfill project scope, budget, and timeline.
+ Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to evaluate the electrical conditions and provide recommendations.
+ Provide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EIT's and technicians.
+ Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high-quality design solutions.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering + four (4) years of relevant professional experience
+ Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario in good standing.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience in sectors such as Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability (PV and EV systems).
+ Experience in design tools: AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar.
+ Solid Knowledge of power systems: MV/LV distribution, lighting, controls, renewable energy systems.
+ Proficiency with engineering calculations and preparing technical documentation.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential).
+ Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules is a must.
+ Ability to fit into a fast-paced team environment and/or work independently.
+ Self-motivated, detail oriented and multi-tasking.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $65,000.00 - $5,000.00.
