Position Overview
Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. ACSI is seeking Electrician Journeypersons who will be integral to our projects success, responsible for providing support and in-depth knowledge in the field relating to electrical matters, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications to lay out work. Your expertise will support a range of activities which are critical to integrity of the electrical systems of the project.
Key Responsibilities
Installing cable tray and conduit and terminating cable. Locating and installing equipment, panels, sensors and other control components and devices.
Fabricate control panels, wiring check-out.
Responsible for laying out circuits, set up breaker panels and junction boxes, and install light fixtures and other electrical equipment.
Ensure all electrical installations follow applicable regulations and trade practices.
Install, alter, repair and maintain a wide range of electrical equipment for safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation.
Pull wire through conduits and cables through tray systems.
Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations.
Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits.
Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment.
Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels.
Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, and if need be, replacing or repair following proper installation guidelines.
Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.
Requirements and Experience
Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket
WHMIS 2015 certificate
Experience as an Electrician in an industrial construction environment.
Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.

- Lead design and development of aircraft electrical systems from concept to production
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation: I/O definitions, schematics, interface control documents (ICDs), wiring diagrams

- Plan and conduct bench-level and on-aircraft testing, including functional verification, continuity checks, and system validation

Preferred Experience

This position is compensated at an hourly rate. 30 - 45 depending in experience. Employees are eligible for enrollment in our company benefits package following successful completion of a three month probationary period. **Required to drive to and from Edmonton, AB**
**Work Environment**

Most of the preparatory work is complete, including the underground duct bank installation, setting the stage for focused electrical work.
**Responsibilities**
Pull cable and wire as per project requirements.
Run conduit and perform minor tray work.
Terminate, test, and commission electrical systems.
Attend daily 7am toolbox meetings and follow FLHA protocols before starting work.
Contribute to the upgrading and expansion of the Grand Cache water treatment plant.
**Essential Skills**
Journeyman Electrician certification.
Experience in construction and industrial environments.
Proficiency in pulling wire and conduit bending.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience with waste water treatment plants.
Possession of a Fall Protection Ticket.
AWP/EWP Ticket.
Instrumentation experience.
PLC experience, ideally with Rockwell product line.
