About this role
We are accepting applications for all levels of Electricians in the Lower Mainland , to work on variety of new build and renovation projects. This is great opportunity to get your foot in the door with Houle and grow your electrical career.
Depending on experience, as an Electrician you will be performing the installation, repairs and maintenance of electrical systems and low-voltage technologies (Data, Security & Access Control and Building Controls). Our current projects may involve working in hospitals, institutions, commercial spaces, residential builds and industrial settings.
What we're looking forExperienced Electricians:- Certified Red Seal Electrician, FSR A or FSR B certificate an asset.
- Good understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Experience performing electrical installs, maintenance and commissioning for electrical systems in commercial, institutional or healthcare settings.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings and electrical schematics.
- Experience leading a team and/or mentoring apprentices, is an asset.
- Those with experience or qualifications in the following technologies are also encouraged to apply: Security Systems (CCTV), Access Control, Fire Alarm, Healthcare Technologies (Nurse Call, RTLS) or Building Controls (HVAC, DDC).
- Those with experience in electrical service, attending service calls, performing preventative maintenance and repairs, are also encouraged to apply.
- Must be enrolled in electrical apprenticeship program or qualified to start an apprenticeship program.
- Previous experience working as Electrical Apprentice considered an asset.
- Willingness and desire to learn.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Safety mindset - follow safety protocols, ensure compliance with electrical code and use attention to detail when completing tasks.
- Good organization skills - ability to keep your workspace and areas around you clean and tidy.
- Good customer service skills when dealing with customers and other trades people on site.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Must be a member of the IBEW Union or willing to become one .

**Your Opportunity**
In this position as an Electrical Engineering Technician/ Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.
An Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist will complete tasks on water and wastewater facilities, and conveyance pipelines projects such as pump/ lift stations. Work performed will be under the general supervision of a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician/ Technologist or Engineer.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
* Coordinates with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
* Supports the project team in development of design, documentation, plans and reports for relevant project design elements.
* Performs calculations to analyze and design electrical system components.
* Draw on proactive and analytical problem-solving skills to deliver robust electrical models.
* Assist in the coordination of design and specifications within the context of a multidisciplinary design team.
* Development and update of equipment and tag lists.
* Review documentation such as shop drawings for key technical information.
* Conduct site observation and/or inspection activities during design or construction phases of the project.
* Work closely with the Electrical Engineer and engineering group in recommending the best use of project tools in order to achieve project objectives, troubleshoot and resolve issues with the project tools.
* Performs thorough quality control of construction documents and provides design ideas and solutions.
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
* Ability to work with others on large complex projects.
* Working knowledge of electrical CEC code and industry standards such as IEEE, ANSI, API, and CSA.
* Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation.
* Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
* Proficient in relevant software programs including AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam/ Adobe Acrobat.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.
* Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.
**Education and Experience**
* Electrical Engineering Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of

* Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.

**Pay Range:**
* Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC - Min Salary $ 79,700.00 - Max Salary $115,500.00
* Locations in Lower Mainland - BC - Min Salary 84,500.00 - Max Salary 122,400.00
**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
