Position Summary
The Emergency Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) is empowered and responsible to act as a highly-trained RVT on the clinical floor to set an example of patient care, client care, and teamwork at Pulse Veterinary Specialists & Emergency.
The Emergency RVT will report to the Lead Emergency RVT and work closely with critical care specialists to deliver high level patient care. Read more about our Emergency and Critical Care team here.

Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all technical responsibilities of a RVT including:
o Usage and care of medical equipment, as well as sterilization techniques.
o Placing IV catheters; calculating drug doses, fluid requirements and CRIs.
o Understanding anesthesia.
o Producing radiographs.
o Performing CPR.
o Assisting with advanced diagnostic tests including scopes and ultrasounds.
o Managing hospitalized patients, including working with critical and ICU patients.
o Performing recovery care and hospitalization treatments to aid the specialty service teams.
Provides education, home care instructions, and nutritional counseling to customers.
General supervision of Technologist Assistant (TA) team members.
Supports management of customer complaints as required in partnership with the Lead Emergency RVT and Hospital Manager, interacting with clientele to deescalate, resolve, and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
Maintains practice software including client and patient record management.
Follows all SOPs to support smooth hospital operations.
Follows all federal and provincial animal health laws and regulations regarding workplace health and safety.
Openly and proactively communicates updates to Emergency DVMs, Lead Emergency RVT and other department team members. Prioritize interdepartmental synergy by maintaining open lines of communication with other departments.
Other duties may be assigned as required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
Education and Experience
Animal Health Technology college diploma.
Previous RVT experience is preferred (preferably in an ER setting).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proven active listening and problem-solving skills.
Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information professionally.
Strong time management and organizational skills including the abilities to plan, coordinate, multitask and prioritize.
Genuine interest and initiative to help Pulse be the best practice it can be.
Strong initiative and desire to be an integral key player in the growth and maturation of the Emergency team.

This is the role for you if you have :
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree in Aviation Safety, Business, Engineering, or Risk Management is preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in airport operations, safety, or security, preferably in large airport or infrastructure environments in executive or cross-functional roles.
- 15 years of leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams in a matrix organization with multiple operational responsibilities.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and executing safety and security policies and programs within large, complex organizations, especially those involving large-scale capital projects.
- Knowledge of applicable Transport Canada regulations.
- Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety programs and regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance.

SUMMARY: The Emergency Services Crew Member responds to all activities of the emergency services division of Paul Davis.
REPORTS TO: Mitigation Project Manager
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
-Professionally represent Paul Davis principles of honesty and integrity while performing all duties according to Paul Davis standards and approved practices.
-Communicate with management & customers in a courteous and professional manner
-Provide labor for emergency property damage caused water, fire, mold, storm or other means.
-Maintain transport, store and keep track of company equipment and expendables .
-Be able to use a smartphone to take/share job photos, record work time sheets etc.
-Comfortable with technology, able to learn new skills, work as a team member and follow directions.
-Perform on-call rotation as needed.
-Ability to climb a ladder.
-Ability to lift at least 75 pounds.
-Ability to work in confined spaces and various environmental conditions.
-Ability to work around a variety of chemicals without any adverse reaction or sensitivity.
-Follow established safety practices including the proper use of PPE when required.
-Willing to work with other departments at Paul Davis as needed for light carpentry, demolition, post-construction cleaning etc.
