Summary : The Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Assistant will assist physicians and allied health partners with conducting tests, processing specimen, and performing a variety of administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient flow and care process. This is a permanent full-time position (4-5 days a week).
Location : Etobicoke (3857 Lake Shore Blvd W, Etobicoke, ON, M8W 0A3)
Responsibilities :
- Responsible for ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient collection, handling and processing of specimens in accordance to the clinic procedures
- Responsible for providing administrative support to the entire clinic, including but not limited to: registering patients, answering phone, booking appointments, following up on consults and test results and other duties as assigned
- Provides assistance to doctors and allied health providers
- Other laboratory and administrative duties related to clinic operations
- Maintains and organizes laboratory/clinic equipment and supplies
Requirements :
- Completed an accredited MLA/OSMT/CSMLS certification is required
- Current enrolment in a recognized program for Medical Laboratory technology may also be considered
- Administrative or customer service experience, including in a non-medical field is considered an asset
- Proficient in computer/knowledge of EMR is an asset
- Ability to work at multiple locations is considered an asset
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced environment
- Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills

As a Pap Technician, you will perform routine pap smear exams, including the following:

- Pap and cervical screening.
- Prepare supplies and explain the procedure to the patient.

Your Role
The Medical Device Reprocessing Technician is responsible for performing the responsibilities of instrument cleaning, processing, and sterilization in accordance with manufacturer recommendations; maintaining appropriate logs to meet regulatory and sterilization standards; performing various cleaning functions/services throughout the clinic in order to uphold an orderly, safe, clean and attractive clinical environment; understanding and following Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) guidelines; restocking supplies and performing other related duties as assigned.
Primary Job Responsibilities :
- Perform all MDR duties in an ethical and legal manner that ensures patient safety
- Understand and apply infection prevention and control measures in all areas of clinical practice

- Previous experience in procurement, inventory management, or supply chain within a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Team Lead for our Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) and Procurement functions. This role is responsible for supervising MDR staff, ensuring compliance with sterilization standards, and optimizing workflows to support surgical operations. The Team Lead will also manage procurement of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring inventory aligns with surgical needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled MDR professional with procurement experience who is ready to take on a leadership role and drive improvements in efficiency, compliance, and service delivery. This role reports to Nurse manager and Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR):
- Clean, disinfect, assemble, test, sterilize, store, and distribute reusable medical devices and surgical equipment in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Operate and maintain reprocessing equipment, ensuring proper function and adherence to safety standards.
- Perform biological and chemical indicator tests, ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards for all sterilization cycles.
- Assist with OR turnover, including cleaning and restocking between surgical cases to ensure readiness for the next procedure.
- Maintain detailed documentation of sterilization cycles, equipment performance, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Procurement & Inventory Management:
- Oversee the ordering and supply management for the operating rooms, recovery rooms - ensuring supplies are available when needed.
- Track consumable utilization for each surgical case, supporting accurate cost analysis and financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for auditing purposes, while ensuring just-in-time ordering to optimize supply usage and minimize waste.
