Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Health & Wellness Specialist to join our team at Inn from the Cold. The Health & Wellness Specialist plays a vital role in helping shelter families access healthcare resources and services to ensure their physical and mental health needs are addressed. They work from a trauma-informed and client-centered approach, following the vision and values of the organization to provide support to families who have experienced and been impacted by homelessness, poverty, mental health, addiction, and histories of trauma and violence.
What Youll Do
- Provide case management for shelter families, including referrals to healthcare providers and access to health and wellness resources.
- Complete intake assessments with families and conduct regular check-ins to monitor health and wellness needs.
- Educate families on basic health literacy and connect them with relevant health promotion resources and programs.
- Assist in coordinating and supporting wellness programs (e.g., Massage Therapy, Student-Run Clinic) and other health initiatives.
- Work with other health care providers to assist families fill prescriptions, access over-the-counter medication, and obtain necessary medication coverage.
- Guide families through the healthcare system and support applications for health coverage and benefits.
- Identify mental health concerns, refer to the Mental Health Clinician, and support families in crisis, including de-escalation and safety planning.
- Recognize risk factors such as self-harm or suicidal ideation and implement immediate safety plans and referrals.
- Maintain accurate and timely case notes and input data on program attendance and referrals.
- Build rapport with families and staff, promote engagement in health programs, and facilitate or co-facilitate appropriate workshops or groups
This position description reflects the general duties of the role; however is not intended to include all duties that may be inherent in the position. The Health & Wellness Specialist may be asked to perform other duties as required or assigned.
What You Bring to Our Mission
- University degree in a health or social service field and at least two years of experience working around mental health and wellness
- Nursing background is an asset
- Experience working in a shelter environment is a strong asset
- Experience working within a harm reduction model
- Proven knowledge of evidence-based/best practices in the mental health and wellness field including trauma, addictions/substance abuse
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Excellent time management and prioritizing skills
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
- Must have current First Aid/CPR and Suicide Intervention certificates
- Complete all required training as assigned such as Indigenous Awareness, Brain Story,
- Always adhere to the Inns Policies, Procedures, and Code of Conduct
- Strong knowledge of resource management, empathetic listening, motivational interviewing, risk assessment, and safety planning, where required

-Assigns, delegates, and evaluates the activities of the nursing department,

-Implements and monitors quality improvement,

The Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN), or the Texelcemc (people of WLFN) have belonged to the Secwepemc (or Shuswap) Nation for over 6500 years. Today, the WLFN community includes a growing population of over 800 registered members who live on reserve in Sugar Cane, in nearby Williams Lake, BC, and across the globe.

POSITION
The Elders Health and Wellness Liaison (Navigator) will be responsible for providing in-home support, social care, and wellness-focused services to Elders living in community. The Elders Wellness Liaison (Navigator) will work in collaboration with Elders, families, healthcare professionals (including dieticians, physiotherapists, mental health professionals), and community partners to ensure holistic care and quality of life for Elders living at home. The Elders Health and Wellness Navigator will report to the Interim Director of Health and Wellness.

- Conduct or assist with basic mobility and safety assessments, support fall prevention strategies.

- Advocate for culturally appropriate and trauma-informed care for Indigenous clients.
- Document visits, observations, and progress in accordance with organizational policies.

- Maintain open communications with the WLFN team.
- Provide support to Health and Wellness Department team members for wellness initiatives, community-based events, community programming, and member support as needed.

About the Role:
The Indigenous Wellness Support Services (IWSS) team supports CASA Mental Health’s organizational commitment to truth and reconciliation. IWSS provides consultation, education and training to ensure Indigenous patients and their families have access to Indigenous-informed, culturally-safe mental health care. IWSS works closely with mental health teams to provide cultural and spiritual care as an integrated part of treatment. IWSS supports the continuum of child and adolescent mental health care in First Nation and Métis communities by offering service providers professional development and consultation services.
The Indigenous Wellness Specialist will:
- Build relationships with children, adolescents, families and communities.
- Support the integration of culturally-informed practices into service delivery, including Indigenous Ways of Knowing, healing, ceremony, culture and spirituality.
- Work closely with the Indigenous Services team to build capacity across the organization on culturally-integrated practices.

- Lived experience with Indigenous ceremony, practice, healing, cultures and spirituality.
- Proficient knowledge of Indigenous historical accounts, systemic barriers, intergenerational trauma and the impacts of colonization.

- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority is a dynamic and evolving healthcare agency that provides health program support to its four northern partners - Prince Albert Grand Council, Meadow Lake Tribal Council, Lac La Ronge Indian Band, and Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation.
POSITION MANDATE
The Addictions Wellness Advisor will assist NITHA second-level service providers in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies for the Substance Use and Addiction program. In consultation with the four NITHA partners, develop a comprehensive framework including a model of service delivery encompassing substance use and addiction prevention, assessment, education, intervention, treatment, and aftercare. Provide a thorough community assessment that includes guiding best practice, counselling, and treatment planning for individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The role supports community clients in achieving recovery goals through evidence-based interventions, education, and support services. The Addictions Wellness Advisor collaborates with the NITHA Mental Wellness Advisor and multidisciplinary teams at second-level communities to ensure holistic care and promote harm reduction strategies, relapse prevention, and long-term sobriety.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Our ideal candidate will be an innovative professional with the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:
- Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field from a recognized university or a relevant field. A Masters degree will be an asset.
- Certification or licensure in Addictions Counselling (i.e., CADC, CACCF, CCAC, ACHP or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of combined experience that reflects work in the areas of substance use and addiction.
- Certification in ASIST or CISM, or related training, and/or be willing to become certified.
- Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and 12-Step Facilitation.
- Ability to apply knowledge of best practices related to models of care, research, and trends in the field of substance use and addictions.
- Knowledge of harm reduction, relapse prevention, and trauma-informed care approaches.
- Maintains positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, exercising diplomacy, judgement and tact.
- Provide evidence of previous proposal/policy/framework development.
- Knowledge of community development.
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
- Experience working with First Nations people and organizations, and working with diverse populations, is an asset.
- Advanced computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, desktop publishing, and Windows.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 drivers license as travel is required.

MENTAL WELLNESS ADVISOR
Full-Time Position

The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority is a dynamic and evolving healthcare agency that provides health program support to its four northern partners - Prince Albert Grand Council, Meadow Lake Tribal Council, Lac La Ronge Indian Band, and Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation.
POSITION MANDATE
The Mental Wellness Advisor provides support, guidance, and resources to NITHA partnership communities experiencing mental health challenges. This role involves assessing needs, developing community intervention plans, and providing crisis support, coordination, and referral resource development. The Mental Wellness Advisor will work in collaboration with healthcare professionals, social workers, and community organizations to enhance mental well-being and access to appropriate services, as well as promote capacity building. The Mental Wellness Advisor will assist the second-level service providers in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating Mental Wellness program strategies. In consultation with the four NITHA partners, develop a comprehensive framework including a model of service delivery encompassing mental wellness, assessment, education, intervention, treatment, and aftercare.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Our ideal candidate will be an innovative professional with the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:
- Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling from a recognized university or a relevant field. A Masters degree is an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years of combined experience that reflects work in the areas of Mental Wellness.
- Certification in ASIST or CISM, or related training and/or be willing to become certified.
- Ability to apply knowledge of best practices related to models of care, research, and trends in the field of mental wellness.
- Provide evidence of previous proposal/policy/framework development.
- Knowledge of community development.
- Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in documentation and report writing.
- Experience working respectfully with First Nations people and organizations and demonstrating cultural awareness, sensitivity, and competency.
- Health experience working in Northern Saskatchewan is a definite asset.
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality.
- Advanced computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, desktop publishing, and Windows.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 drivers license as travel is required.

Eagle Lake First Nation is seeking a compassionate and culturally grounded Community Wellness Worker to support the health and well-being of our community. This role focuses on delivering culturally appropriate programs, promoting mental health, and preventing substance abuse. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Anishinaabe traditions and be committed to fostering wellness through community engagement and traditional healing practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and deliver wellness programs based on Anishinaabe teachings.
- Facilitate workshops on mental health, addictions, and healthy living.
- Support individuals in accessing services and navigating health systems.
- Work closely with Elders and community leaders to integrate cultural teachings.
- Track program participation and provide regular wellness reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma in Social Work, Mental Health, or related field.
- Experience in mental health crisis intervention and/or addictions.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis de-escalation skills.
- Knowledge of Anishinaabe culture and wellness practices.
- Valid drivers license and CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
