The Role
The Energy Management Consultant is responsible for in-home sales of furnaces, air conditioners, and IAQ products. This position is home-based.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for building long-term customer relationships.
- Responsible for working effectively with all other channels.
- Accountable for the effective and efficient delivery of customer-based utilization services for equipment selection, sizing, quoting, selling to the customer, and ensuring that the same is installed in a professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
- Responsible for conducting canvassing and selling to new and existing customers.
- Accountable for the delivery of high levels of customer service based on a thorough understanding of the operating model, you will also be responsible for the effective management and resolution of customer concerns and issues. This is a home-based business opportunity, where you will self-generate business and grow the market.
- An undergraduate degree in Business Administration (or equivalent experience) paired with 3-5 years in a sales role, preferably in-home and customer-facing. Industry sales knowledge is a plus.
- Preferred HRAI Certification for HVAC programs and designs.
- A track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and performance objectives
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building customer relationships, along with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Computer skills are also beneficial.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Manager, Alternative & Renewable Energy (ARE) is responsible for the research, planning, and managing ARE initiatives and programs. The position supports the execution of ARE projects by providing engineering support in areas such as planning, design, technical analysis, and conducting research. The position also provides technical advice, support, and recommendations to stakeholders as required through designated renewable/alternative energy resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee ARE staff and coordinate with other jurisdictions / utilities for developing ARE plan and program for the Corporation to meet QEC/GN mandate for reducing dependency on fossil fuel.
- Manage NMP (Net Metering Program), CIPP (Commercial and Institutional Power Producer), and IPP (Independent Power Producer) program.
- Provide recommendations for higher management regarding ARE initiatives.
- Respond to requests for information from the media re: renewable energy initiatives, etc.
- Keep track of all projects and resources, as well as reporting internally and externally.
- Closely work with Finance and Operations to ensure program effectiveness and to improve efficiency and liaison with Federal and Territorial Government agencies.
- Oversee design and development of new and existing ARE initiatives including stamping designs.
- Prepare Requests for Tender (RFT) / Request for Proposal (RFP) for ARE projects and ensures effective projects execution.

Required Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical / mechanical engineering.
- Experience in ARE project management in Utility sector.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng), with immediate eligibility for registration with NAPEG.
- Seven years of ARE project management experience in a utility.
- Two years of experience in the supervision and development of staff.
Assets:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
- Experience in full scope project management, from inception to commissioning an asset.
- Knowledge of power system analysis software such as ETAP, HOMER, RETScreen are assets.
- Experience in a utility environment is an asset.
A combination of education and equivalent experience may be considered.

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Development:
- Develop a turn-key EMC implementation and energy management consulting business under Kiltech.
- Launch the energy management consulting business

- Plan for specialties in chilled water, refrigeration, heating systems (steam and hot water) and compressed air

- Utilize efficiency upgrades and energy management structure to increase margins

- Working closely with the HR Manager to set department objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance

Reporting to the Manager, EMS, you will be part of a team developing energy solutions for large business and institutional customers including electric vehicle charging, battery storage, solar PV and power generation. Your work will help unlock the full potential of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, driving the transition to a clean energy economy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analysis
Interpret the full value stack of projects, relevant to their project configurations
Complete energy and basic modelling for a range of electrification projects as inputs to project economics.
Complete economic site screening and feasibility level system sizing for battery energy storage and EV charging projects
Research and keep updated information on relevant tariffs, programs, incentives, and market rules for energy markets
Analysis and tracking of GHG reduction
Reporting
Present models, analysis and solutions, to leadership in a clear and digestible manner
Develop and structure reporting products
Support data management system expansion
Work with cross-functional team members to understand the electrification products and processes in order to inform impacts to CAPEX and OPEX optimization.
Grow with the team and proactively explore development of new products and processes to support the path to electrification.
Operations

QUALIFICATIONS:
University Degree in Engineering or related field.
3+ years relevant experience
Experience with at least one of the following: EV charging, behind-the-meter DERs (battery energy storage systems, solar, etc), charge management systems, energy management systems, aggregation platforms, demand response and load management.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Direct experience in IESO and one other ISO market an asset.
Experience with Python an asset;
Self-initiated and intellectually curious, with a powerful interest in electrification and innovation.
