The general manager of Kiltech and Energy Management Optimization Consultancy and operations has overall responsibility and accountability for Smardt's Kiltech division globally as well as establishing and managing Energy Management Optimization consultancy and offerings, including operational controls optimization, chiller and central plant optimization and energy management systems. Authority for implementing strategies in line with operational goals whilst exceeding customer expectations for product quality, cost and service levels. MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Development:
- Develop a turn-key EMC implementation and energy management consulting business under Kiltech.
- Launch the energy management consulting business

- Plan for specialties in chilled water, refrigeration, heating systems (steam and hot water) and compressed air
- Develop a business that will deliver energy efficiency and energy management consulting and training

Human Resources Management:

Financial Management:
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance of the Kiltech business unit (revenue, gross profit, G&A, warranty, etc)
- Working with the CFO and Chief Executive Officer to prepare the annual budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards. Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Manager, Alternative & Renewable Energy (ARE) is responsible for the research, planning, and managing ARE initiatives and programs. The position supports the execution of ARE projects by providing engineering support in areas such as planning, design, technical analysis, and conducting research. The position also provides technical advice, support, and recommendations to stakeholders as required through designated renewable/alternative energy resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee ARE staff and coordinate with other jurisdictions / utilities for developing ARE plan and program for the Corporation to meet QEC/GN mandate for reducing dependency on fossil fuel.
- Manage NMP (Net Metering Program), CIPP (Commercial and Institutional Power Producer), and IPP (Independent Power Producer) program.
- Provide recommendations for higher management regarding ARE initiatives.
- Respond to requests for information from the media re: renewable energy initiatives, etc.
- Keep track of all projects and resources, as well as reporting internally and externally.
- Closely work with Finance and Operations to ensure program effectiveness and to improve efficiency and liaison with Federal and Territorial Government agencies.

Required Qualifications Include:

- Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng), with immediate eligibility for registration with NAPEG.
- Seven years of ARE project management experience in a utility.
- Two years of experience in the supervision and development of staff.
Assets:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
- Experience in full scope project management, from inception to commissioning an asset.

**This role is fully remote based out of Canada or the U.S.
About the Position
The Lead Energy Market Analyst, part of the Americas – Data and Insights team, will support Energy Exemplar's growth in North America by identifying customer use cases, shaping go-to-market strategies, and providing thought leadership. Acting as a subject matter expert, they will understand customer challenges, propose solutions and develop products using Energy Exemplar tools and dataset.
The role is heavily focused on modelling, requiring expertise in energy market fundamentals. The analyst will build and oversee production of energy market models using PLEXOS. Candidates should have strong modelling skills, fundamental nodal modelling experience, customer engagement abilities, and a proactive, adaptable mindset.
- Hands on modeling experience in several ISOs (eg ERCOT)
- Experience with nodal power flow modeling and ability to discuss nodal concept such as LMPs, congestion, contingencies, LODF, etc.
- Self-Starter and ability to work independently
- 7+ years of experience with direct Energy Modeling and Power Market Analysis
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and learn new techniques
- Experience in creating and analyzing energy data sets for power models
- Production cost market modeling knowledge and experience
- Experience with nodal market modeling is required
- Experience working at a market operator, project developer, trading firm, consultancy or at a utility in planning, transmission or commercial operations would be an asset
- Knowledge of one or more energy economic modeling tools: PLEXOS, Aurora, PROMOD, PSO, MarketAnalytics and/or PROSYM
- Strong organizational skills
- Expert skills using Excel, Power BI and similar tools
- Experience with Python a plus.
