As a Software Development Engineer lll, you will work as part of a small, autonomous, agile team to deliver both internal and external applications; built on a modern hybrid cloud platform. A day in the life:

• Lead large-scale software development projects, from design to deployment, ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives.
• Proactively simplify codebases, resolve architectural deficiencies, and optimize for both operational efficiency and long-term scalability.
• Work with cross-functional teams to divide projects into manageable tasks and ensure smooth collaboration and parallel development efforts.
• Provide leadership in both tactical and strategic areas, making informed decisions that affect both the immediate and future direction of software development.
• Lead architecture discussions and decisions that balance innovation with maintainability, particularly incorporating cloud services (GCP, AWS) and AI frameworks.
• Use AI/ML models and tools to enhance the intelligence and capabilities of our software systems.
• Identify and mitigate long-term technical risks while ensuring continuous progress toward achieving business goals.
• Actively mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance, career development support, and fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
• Perform technical assessments of SDE candidates, evaluating their technical skills and alignment with Biiibos development practices.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of experience in leading large-scale projects, including managing timelines, tasks, and cross-team collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to architect, design, and develop scalable and maintainable systems in cloud-based environments (GCP, AWS, etc.).
• Expertise in AI/ML tools and frameworks and integrating them into production systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design and design patterns.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, cloud computing, and system design principles.
• Ability to balance the tactical execution of projects with strategic long-term planning, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
• Strong experience in mentoring and guiding teams, promoting best practices in development, design, and problem-solving.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to navigate difficult situations, find solutions, and help others succeed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BE /B Tech in Computer Science or related degree (Master's or Ph. D. preferred) along with 8+ years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in object oriented programming in Java, C#,C++, Python, Rails
• Knowledge of Computer Science Fundamentals (data structures, systems design, algorithms, and problem solving).
• Experience with mobile development languages like Kotlin and Swift is an asset.
• Proficiency in coding and designing multi-attribute based analytics system
• Experience with MariaDB, Postgres, Docker, Django
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix
• Comfortable in fast-paced, start-up like development environments

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position supports the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques to a medium set of moderately difficult assignments.

Job responsibilities:

- Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work
- Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
- Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
- Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of moderate or complex engineering problems. Should be able to demonstrate basic understanding of structural behavior and design principles.
- Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
- Indicate strong technical interests and background with structural engineering subjects such as design of large structural steel and concrete structures including heavy foundations, seismic engineering, and dynamic analysis of structures supporting vibrating equipment.
- Capable to undertake structural engineering work related to resource project development and construction, in one or more of the following areas:

- Performing hand and computer calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel structures
- Analyzing complex structures ,
- Wind and seismic loading in structural calculations (structural)
- Dynamic analysis and design (structural)
- Computer modeling and analysis (structural)
- Procurement and construction aspects of engineering
- Vendor drawing review, intergroup review – squad checking
- Engineering and fabricator drawing checking
- Managing and leading a small project

Basic Job Requirements

- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and four (4) years of work-related relevant experience .
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

Salary is based upon experience. Salary Range: $76,500.00 - $129,500.00

Salary is based upon experience. Salary Range: $76,500.00 - $129,500.00

The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
