When you join us you will;
Focus on one specific area of the plant to capture, develop and update key process procedures and documentations.
Assist in the creation of process flow charts, standard work instructions and control plans using the companies Visual Standard work instruction format.
Support the Process Engineer in optimizing plant performance.

- Work on a variety of heavy oil projects for domestic and international clients. The scope of the projects will vary from FEED studies, modular packages and full turnkey EPFC projects.
- Acquire in-depth technical expertise in heavy oil processing
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, including delegation, checking, and authentication of professional work products.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from an accredited university
- Professional Engineer registered and in good standing with Alberta Professional Engineers, and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or eligible for membership.
- 5+ years of experience in heavy oil processing with specific experience in SAGD, wellpads, and water treating required.
- Experience designing alternative processes in Glycol Dehydration, Sweetening, Mechanical Refrigeration, Oil Processing, Compression is considered an asset.
- EPC and/or Fabricator experience
- Excellent communications skills required to interact with client and internal team members
- Experience working with HYSYS and other engineering software (BR&E ProMax, VMGSim Symmetry, Flarenet)
- Experience in sizing process equipment is an asset (separators, treaters, FWKO, heat exchangers, PSVs, flare systems, control valves, pumps, reciprocating, rotary screw, and centrifugal compressors)

**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking a **Water/Wastewater Process Engineering** **Graduate** to be based in **Markham, Ontario** .
_This role is expected to start in May 2026._
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
+ Undertake preliminary and detailed engineering design activities under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
+ Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
+ Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer for water and wastewater infrastructure.
+ Equipment selection and liaison with equipment suppliers and vendors.
+ Preparation of technical specifications, special provisions, and forms of tender.
+ Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
+ Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
+ Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
+ Review of quantity and cost estimates for completeness and accuracy.
+ Provision of contract administration services during the construction of water and wastewater infrastructure and facilities.
+ Work independently and as part of a team to complete water and wastewater infrastructure assignments.
+ Prepare technical reports and analyses to support project assignments.
+ Actively engage in professional development and industry events.

**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or other related field.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Eligible to apply for P.Eng. within four years.
