**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking a **Structural Engineering Graduate** to be based in **Kitchener, Ontario** .
_This position is expected to start in May, 2026._
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Builds analytic and design skills.
+ Conducts structural engineering designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
+ Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
+ Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.

**Job Description**
The **Buildings+Places** division of **AECOM** is seeking a motivated **Mechanical Engineering Graduate** for employment out of the **Markham, ON** office.
_This role is expected to begin for either January or May 2026_
**Major Responsibilities:**
+ A key member of the mechanical design team participating in design and construction administration of various facilities, including occasional out-of-town travel;
+ Design of Plumbing, Fire Protection and HVAC systems;
+ Perform Energy and HVAC calculations and analysis using industry programs (i.e. Carrier HAP);
+ Ability to use and create excel spreadsheets to assist with calculations and analysis;
+ Assist with the design and drafting of mechanical systems in 2D AutoCAD and MicroStation;
+ Assist with the design and drafting of mechanical systems in 3D such as REVIT;
+ Must be able to prepare written reports and deliver results in a clear manner to technical or non-technical persons;
+ Strong communication skills, spoken and written;
+ Experienced at using computers and utilizing Windows, e-mail, internet, MS Word, and Excel;
+ Able to work independently or as part of a team.

Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:
+ Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment under the direction of an experienced electrical engineer
+ Applies industry standard practices and techniques in producing engineered solutions to specific project electrical issues
+ Gathers and correlates basic electrical engineering data associated with assigned projects using established and well-defined procedures
+ Exercises judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Reviews the proposed solutions with the responsible engineer and agrees on a path forward
+ Supervisor will screen assignment for unusual or difficult problems and select techniques and procedures to be applied on non-routine work
+ Employee will receive supervision on new aspects of assignments
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or another related field
+ Understanding of Electrical power systems
+ Understanding of electrical system load and short circuit analysis
+ Understanding of Lighting and lighting control systems. This includes familiarity with Lighting calculations

**Job Responsibilities Include:**
Support the Engineering Manager/Senior Engineering Manager Procurement by providing Engineering Products, including but not limited to Designs, Analyses, specifications, evaluations and other Technical Products.
The position is accountable to:
+ Ensure that they are trained, competent and qualified to perform their tasks
+ Provide investigation and resolution of technical issues during all phases of a project
+ Prepare, review, or verify, under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer as required including but not limited to:

+ Design Drawings and Bills of Material
+ Commissioning Specifications
+ Design Reports including Calculations and Analysis
+ Establish and acquire expertise in Codes, Standards and Acts in each discipline:
+ Mechanical - Pressure boundary codes including CSA N285, B51, B31, and any piping codes, calculations or reports such as required by the Regulator (CNSC-TSSA)
+ Electrical - Electrical Codes in Canada/Ontario or any other province in which design is performed
+ Civil - Structural and Seismic codes including CSA N287, N289, N291. And National or Ontario Building Codes or in any province in which design is performed
